“The Smith & Robertson team designed and built a custom house for us at Wintergreen VA. We started in March, 2012 and finished in January, 2013. We had a great experience designing and building, and are very pleased with the final product. Glenn and Ron are easy to work with and have a can-do attitude. The design was exactly what we wanted. They were able to put our dream home on paper and make it work. They were very creative on where to save money on the project, but also how to include some of the perks we really wanted. The sub-contractors they hired were professional and, for the most part, on time. The building supplies that S & R insisted on using were top-notch. Our "green rating", a big focus for S & R, is a big plus to our new home. We were able to stay within budget. We would highly recommend this wonderful team for design/build.”

“Tom Phenicie is a high integrity person, and this is the primary reason I hired him to build my home and every project needed at rental and commercial properties I own. I do not shop on competitive bids for my projects because there really are no competitors to Tom. Materials cost what they do regardless of the contractor so the only difference possible is the person on the job. My primary residence recently appraised at over 1 million, a 60% appreciation in 12 years! Quality that stands the test of time is why Tom is currently estimating a second recreational home in a neighboring state for my wife and I. We will have to pay more due to travel distance and out of state licensing, but frankly Tom is worth it. Cost figures below are for most recent commercial project.”

“I have a 60's ranch house with a small master closet. The job was a tough one because of the building materials used. Instead of trying to take down and then replicate the plaster of the old closet. Kevin Bruggard (the contractor) came up with the idea to build a "room" around the old closet. The old opening is there with 3 hanging bars. The new room has deep and long shelving on each side reaching the ceiling. New 6' sliding doors were added with molding to match the rest of the room. Instead of presenting the most expensive idea; Kevin put together a modest and creative approach that solved my storage needs and then some! Very professional, all work was on time and as expected. I would recommend Blue Ridge and Kevin in particular. Great personality and very customer oriented.”

Started house in December and we were in our beautiful home by Thanksgiving. The team helped us with everything from picking out faucets, designing cabinets, finding granite, and picking out paint colors. We wanted a different fireplace, they made it for us. Wanted geothermal, got it. Wanted a complete SMART house, they did it. Their incredible carpenter even made us a bowl from a tree on property as a welcome home gift. “Excellent job.
Job involved improving existing 24’x 32’ workshop. Adding roof over deck on one side and raising the roof height on lean-to structure to accommodate tractor on the other side. Entire building was resided.
Work was accomplished in a professional manner and the worksite was cleaned up at the end of each work day and at the completion of the job. I was kept informed on all aspects of the work.
I would recommend this builder.”
