“The kitchen/dining area in our Shandaken (Catskills), NY house--built in 1967 as an uninsulated hunters' lodge--was on its way out. The oven no longer worked, the third of the three refrigerators we went through was utterly inefficient, the cabinet drawers often stuck as if they were cemented in place! Long story short: Dan Dwyer and his excellent and friendly crew gutted the area, added insulation, installed recessed lighting, rewired extensively, and revamped the plumbing (so that we no longer need to crawl under the house to drain the pipes in winter). They installed the new cabinets perfectly. They removed a wall to extend the small kitchen. All that and more was AFTER Dan himself suggested a new design, including removing the wall, which worked beautifully. When we saw what his crew accomplished with the kitchen (where they discovered and eliminated mold, an unexpected health benefit), and noted the exquisite tiling of the new floor and back splash, we asked them to sand and poly the floor and staircase in the adjacent living room, install insulation there as well, and replace the molding (his suggestion, not ours). We could go on forever: Hire Dan and his people; you will be delighted.”

“It was a pleasure working with the entire staff at HVHS. My wife and I went to them with a custom 3100 sq. ft. design and they built our dream home. Along the way the design was refined but at no time did we feel pressured to upgrade. Choices were made to fit our lifestyle and budget. All along the way we were presented with a cost breakdown so there were no surprises.
When the design was locked in we were given a construction timeline, starting with the site prep right through our sign off of the completed home. There were some changes tied to weather but overall we were pretty close to the original schedule.
The tradesmen were all very professional and did exceptional work. Materials used were top of the line. The few things that made it to a punch list were always addressed quickly and usually on the list before I pointed them out. This company takes pride in their work.
If you are looking for a quality home, at a fair price, in a reasonable timeframe, this is the company to go with.”

Their attention to detail in the work and responsiveness throughout the project was appreciated. They had a daily foreman who was always available to discuss the work and options. They worked well with us to be respectful of our budget but were also always willing to discuss alternatives and new ideas. Overall we were extremely pleased with the final work.”

“I bought a modular house through Westchester Modular in 2015. They demolished the existing house and put up a new colonial-style, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom modular house that is 2000 sq. ft in size. In general, they were easy to work with and had reasonable number of options in terms of materials and colors to choose from. I didn't have a lot of special requests because this was planned as a rental property.
In summary, the project went well and house was delivered in about 9 months from start to finish (including time for design, blueprints, permits, etc.) What I didn't like was that the interior of garage was not finished (not painted or primed) and thought it would have been. On the plus side, Liz and Patrick from the project delivery team were a delight to work with. They kept the project moving at a quick pace and provided frequent communication to inform me of what was going on. One of my biggest concerns from the beginning was there would be lots of unexpected hiccups that would cause the price to swell up. I am happy to report that the price increased very little from the original quote and any increases were very reasonable due to my requests for changes such as additional lighting or outlets.”
