Wow - where to start; I was recommended to Hedgehog (now IQ Glass) in Dec 2018 to put a large glass roof, bi-folding doors and four windows into my property; I drove up to their sky garden office and it was lovely to see the glass and check the colours and verify sizes. I placed my order and thought... this is one aspect to the build that cant go wrong. Little did I know! After the first visit which was failed, and rightly so - everything went downhill from here. (I had to put a complaint in about the first team as one of them were standing in the road swearing and another was saying inappropriate things within my property) The bi-folding doors weren't sealed; the glass roof was unfinished and not sealed... the windows also weren't sealed. I have beams being installed for the glass roof that when delivered were either the wrong size or the hole was in the wrong place. They tried to seal the bifold doors and just used silicon and didn't bother to put expanding foam in the spaces before hand. It took around 12 visits, a complaint to the CEO, multiple emails over several months to get this project finished, and not even a whiff of compensation for my time. Even now, I have been waiting over a month for the warranty documentation, I have even emailed twice about this. Stay as far away from this company as humanly possible!!! pro’s professionalism = Terrible... its pot luck getting the right team to fit. knowledge = As said above work quality = V.Low to mediocre ability to meet deadlines and budgets = 0... budgets 100% as they make you pay upfront. Now I see why.

Hedgehog Aluminium was rebranded to Sieger® Systems at the end of 2018 (Sieger Systems are exclusively sold by IQ Glass).

We are sorry to hear that some members of our installation team have behaved in this way, we assure you that this will be looked into internally.

I have spoken to your contracts manager and he is aware of the issues that have occurred on this project. As and when the issues occurred they were dealt with in a swift manner and were rectified as quickly as possible. There was an occasion when we required your builder to leave the upstand exposed in order for our team to measure the size needed for the glass beams. Unfortunately, they had built their plasterboard up to the upstand, we needed them to cut this back for our team to fix the brackets so we could measure the exact size the glass beams needed to be manufactured to. As your builder had left the site, we had to arrange another visit to come back to take these measurements. We then encountered a few issues with the glass beams which we quickly rectified.

Your contracts manager has informed me that your warranty documentation was sent over to you on 16.09.19.

Based on one experience, I wouldn't deal with IQ again unless I couldn't find another supplier. I am a chartered building surveyor and introduced a client to IQ. My view is that the products are good and not easy to source elsewhere, so if you can put up with the excuses, errors, inaction and lack of expertise, then you may end up happy. Certainly the sales operation, show room and coffee are first class - after that it went downhill.

We apologise about the delay in the installation of your glazing, this was due to incorrect sizes being ordered however we did rectify this within a short turnaround period.
In regards to the FENSA certificate, I am aware there have been some miscommunications with the contracts manager looking after your project. The rooflights are not FENSA certified which was clearly mentioned to you by our salesman before we went ahead with the order.

The minimal windows product is of good quality, but the whole customer experience is a test of endurance. Customers are passed from one sales person to another with no real point of contact and this therefore leads to delay and overlap in instructions from customers to IQ.

Looking at your project file I can see your installation was on Monday and is within the lead time provided to you. The order process with IQ sees projects through from quotation, design and then onto installation and therefore gets passed to the relevant team member at each stage due to the different specialisms.

Firstly, the product look amazing - the Sieger Heritage frames and doors we ordered have an authentic old-school metal frame style but with all the energy-saving benefits of aluminium - and secondly, Mark and his team have been flawlessly patient and professional throughout the process - so thank you to everyone for creating a very special residential space for my client.

Out of the 50 suppliers I used on my current project they came as the worst. Sadly good product but the worst ever customer service. They must have a standard list of excuses why they let you down every time, try to blame you for it and never apologise. If you don’t want your project to turn into a nightmare AVOID AVOID AVOID Can’t believe they are still in business with what hey charge and how they treat their customers

Hello HU-466811364, I have spoken to Liam about this installation of fire-rated glass and I apologise that you feel as if we haven’t delivered on our customer service.

Looking at our project file I am unsure what you are referring to by our missed appointments; we have not missed any appointments. We have had several installation dates booked (including dates in March, April and May) that have been cancelled by the builder on the project (who is our client) prior to installation. I can understand that this would have caused issues for you however we have been ready to install your glazing for a while.

This latest booked installation was due for the 7th June however due to an unfortunate delay on site in Bristol our installation team were not able to make it to your site. This was communicated to our client with the reasons for delay and a new installation date was booked for you immediately for 10th June (2 working days later). Although this small delay was absolutely in our hands for which we have passed on our apologies to our client (and done everything we can to rectify and get final installation booked as soon as possible) I don’t think that it would be fair to place the blame for a late running project on the IQ contracts team. We installed the steel and framing for your fire rated doors back in February and have been ready to install the glazing since March.

I hope that you see this is not us coming up with reasons why the project delays are not our fault, instead you will find this is just a clarification of the project timeline. If you would like any further information about the project and timeline please do contact Liam who would be happy to provide further information.
