we had windows and vinyl siding done in the spring. The workers Dan and Bear were fantastic. They're professional and careful around the house with the flowerbeds and they were done in the time that they told us. The clean-up was done every night and the final clean up was done extremely well. The mail sure all the nails were out of the yard and they took everythings.

CVS did an absolutely fabulous job with our 4 replacement windows. Even though we weren't spending a lot of money on entire house full of windows, they still treated us with respect and I felt as though our business was important to them. They were prompt and followed through as specified with the first consultation/estimate, the measurement and the install. Whenever they said they were going to call or come to our home they did exactly as they said they would. The sales representative was not pushy at all and was very nice to my children. The installer was knowledgeable, precise and did not leave a mess. He even fixed a window that I was having trouble keeping open. I would definitely recommend this company.

I am delighted to say that my experience with CVS Windows was amazing! I replaced all the windows in my home that was built in 1954. The savings I have seen in my energy bills is really HUGE! The Windows are not only beautiful but easy for a short little lady to clean! I am a fussy cleaner and also vertically challenged. They are easy to open, tilt and not too heavy to clean. The guys that installed them were very pleasant. They installed very fast and cleaned up nicely after they were finished. I loved them so much I baked them an apple pie! I tried to feed them lunch but they had packed their own. I tell all my friends about my Windows! The only regret is that I didn't do it sooner!

CVS failed to obtain proper permits and never registered their insurance bond with Warren city therefore making it illegal to perform work in Warren when we signed a contract with them and they refused to obtain these permits and register their bond until forced to by law. They misrepresented themselves and breached our contract on multiple occasions. They promised us a 1 to 2 day install and its now been over 14 months. We were told we would receive a $3000 refund and then they said just dont pay the remaining $800 balance. They advertised and the salesman Mike even gave us a paper that there products are from Alside and everything is factory measured, factory made, factory installed so that nothing could go wrong. Alside would have their own bonds in place but CVS would handle everything else such as permits, their own bonds and any issues we might have. With this information we ordered a sliding glass door with a fancy polished diamond V grove pattern in the glass and a huge 5 lite double hung bay/bow window in Aug, 2013. It has been a nightmare. They did lots of damage to our house including damaging our drywall and the bow window started sagging and tilting outwards because they didn't install a cable support system for 13 months. This has caused bulging on the drywall and creating cracks on the inside of the ceiling. Huge holes were left around the window that are so big regular sized wood trim couldn't even cover the damage and they use of 2 different sizes of 1/4 round trim butted together in an attempt to cover damage, a muddy boot print stain ground into the middle of the unfinished wood window seat. They first told us the whole seat would be replaced later we were told that couldn't be done without causing more damage so they just sanded it down and left it uneven. Shoddy craftsmanship of trim around the window, ordering the wrong window screens, ordering the wrong sliding glass door twice, not bringing the proper color capping that was ordered twice, leaving exterior unfinished and exposed for multiple weeks on the door and window, leaving insulation exposed and our house vulnerable to insects and other pests. Exposed wood on the outside of the window & door with staples that could rust. They put the stopping brackets in the middle of the door covering the fancy pattern. They wouldn't return phone calls or emails from us and the Warren city inspector because they didn't obtain proper permits, and falsely stated they are bonded in the City of Warren as required by law. The installers also left the cable support system still in its package on a pile of mulch we had sitting outside the first time they came in 9/13.
In Aug/14 The first inspection was done and the window failed because they left the cable support system on our mulch and they needed to prove something was holding up this heavy window. The building inspector said the window had to be installed according to manufacturer's instructions. He had the copy emailed to him. He then ordered CVS to come out and remove the capping. If cables were installed recap the window or install the cables then recap the window. Verification was also needed on the seat to make sure it was properly insulated. In late Sept early Oct 2014 it seemed as if CVS knew no cables were installed, they tried to bully us into placing braces under the window because they didn't want to remove the capping and have it verified that the window was installed without cables. We told them we wanted the cables because thats what we paid for and we have a brick fascia and you shouldn't install under brackets on brick walls. Alside/CVS then sent an email with a picture of some other house that wasn't my house, to the building inspector claiming the cable support system cant be installed because of the type of roof I have. CVS left a copy of this email accidentally here 2 weeks later while trying to get me to allow brackets. We sent them an email with actual pictures of our home and a training video from Alside we found online that says how you cant install braces on brick/stone walls. I still wonder who's house that was a picture of!!!!!
If they really thought our roof was too small to install the cables, is it normal for them to just cap up the window without installing anything and tell the homeowner that cables are up there don't worry?
The last time CVS/Alside performed any work was Oct 24th 2014 over 1 year since this ordeal started. They removed the capping from the window to reveal NO cables had been installed for 13 months. We believe that the original contractors weren't actually employees from the factory, but subcontractors. For 13 months nothing but the wood frame had been holding this huge window up! To make matters worse on Oct 24th 2014 the factory and CVS installed the cable support system incorrectly doing more damage to our home. When a Warren City inspector came out on Oct. 24th 2014 and failed the window because it
obviously wasn't installed correctly, the installers mouthed off to the inspector and he just left. How is it possible that factory
installers didn't know how to install their own product . A few days later our salesman came to the house uninvited & unannounced and got very nasty with me. Among the things he said was "the window was installed correctly", "Ryan doesn't need to be here" "the inspector doesn't know what he is talking about!" They install 1000's of windows in this area and the inspectors haven't came to any of their jobsites. Mike said they installed tons of windows just like ours the same way and they are fine (so he's saying that they have installed tons of windows incorrectly and against the manufacturer's instructions) There's a lot more Mike said, in fact 55 mins of what he said was unbelievable. ... as we have it recorded while he was at our house in the living room.
CVS has been to our home with the manufacturer of the windows and door Alside (because part of the sales pitch along with JUST A 1 TO 2 DAY install, is factory measured, factory made, factory installed, so to avoid problems such as these) to our property 7 times to fix the destruction they cause and yet, we have problems that are still unresolved.
As of today we are left with a huge bay/bow window and sliding glass door that are both improperly installed that has voided the warranty and the window without capping and stress put on the truss tails from the cables being installed in the wrong spot. The sliding glass door with the fancy pattern is upside down and because they installed it opening the wrong way the first time cold air leaks from the bottom.
The window is a huge safety liability and concern. It is something we would have to disclose when we sell this house because the window failed inspection 2 times, we could be sued for not disclosing this information to potential home buyers. or even be asked to have the window replaced at our expense. That makes everything we tried to do worthless. Any home improvements done to your property without a permit does not increase the value of your home. In fact it can actually decrease your home's value.
This is why we can't just let it go.

CVS workers removed 2 windows, sealed them up, and resided them. You can not tell there was a window there. They then installed a new window where there was none. They did an excellent job, and they were very courteous.
