1st Folding Sliding Doors

A ghastly experience with these people when one of the huge bifold doors shattered spontaneously after only 3.5 years. Not only did they fail to show any regret but deemed their "warranty" not applicable to such "minor defects" (I think it only covers the metal frames/locks) but their price to fix one door was well over £5.000, when the whole job for 3 doors and installation was about 7k in 2020. We found a local supplier who did it for half the money, and they were not the only quotes in that range.. I would never work with this company again.

Terrible service. They are refusing to honour our warranty due a dispute they have with our builder (nothing to do with me). Origin doors seem good but I would not recommend this supplier.

Terrible after-sales service. The windows themselves are reasonable quality. However 2 of 5 integral blinds have failed, yet the response from 1st Sliding Doors has been one of indifference to multiple telephone and emails. The issues remain unresolved, and the firm simply does not care.

Customer service is lacking. Still waiting for details of the specs of our windows.

@1st_folding_sliding_doors you fitted my windows weeks and weeks ago. Ive had errors with 8 out of 11 windows. After calling every day for 2 weeks you committed to resolving my issues. You came today and i now have problems with 5 windows - you incorrectly placed one window that was fine and didn’t fix any of the other 4 you were due to fix. I still have one window that has never been fitted, one that you smashed on fitting and 2 bathroom windows that are still not frosted. Any chance of telling us when you’re going to finish. Its been weeks and my windows leak. Holding up my build. Terrible customer service nobody returns your call, commits to a date or follows through as agreed.

Glazing manufacture and installation seems to be an issue at present so definitely need to move forward by having up front transparent discussions in order to be able to properly manage build timetables. Will obviously revisit on manufacture and installation.

Let me start by saying 1st Folding weren’t my first choice for our kitchen doors. I was initially wooed by the New Wave Door slide and fold system but this turned out to be a huge mistake and 1st Folding saved the day. Long story short New Wave measured the aperture incorrectly (I should have known as they normally refused to measure) and the doors didn’t fit on arrival resulting in a (at the time of writing) 8+ week delay. I was desperate to get doors ASAP as we had already had two snowy cold snaps and no kitchen for 3 months plus I was unable to give the other contractors (flooring, kitchen, decorators) an installation date. 1st Folding came in and with excellent professionalism and communication had doors fitted just 2.5 WEEKS later. I was blown away and couldn’t fathom how I’d been messed around for so long by New Wave. The door (Origin 4 panel bifold) is clearly very high quality - smooth operation and well insulated -and looks fantastic. What is really really important in these difficult times is customer service - some businesses e.g New Wave are barely able to operate in the current climate - you can’t even phone them. 1st Folding however ensured I had the Director’s mobile number and WhatsApp and even the head office responded to my emails without more than a few hours delay. This gives me great comfort for the level of after care I can expect to receive. They don’t ask for 100% payment upfront, you can pay with credit card, and they take their own measurements. I wish I had gone with 1st Folding right from the start and I thoroughly recommend you do the same! P.s. they also installed a ‘glass box’ light well in the side return extension which is absolutely fantastic so I also highly recommend their other glazing solutions.

The upfront pre sales and sales service was really good and the window and sliding doors look great. Sadly we have struggled with post sales service levels and have not been able to get a single response on a question of cleaning (the internal glazing is showing a rather large mark line which we have been seeking advice on).

First offered excellent service and quality for a sliding door installation with return glazed corner at a reasonable price in one of my projects in SW14 Highly reccommend

we use them for a lot of our projects and am always happy with the product and the service. the doors are amazing quality and glide open and close so easily.

I'm really pleased with my bifold doors and would happily recommend and use this company again. The after sales manager, Eleny was particularly helpful in dealing with my queries, and resolved everything to my complete satisfaction.
