We commissioned the team at Ambience Floors to refinish our 100+ year old floors and later on added additional work such as installing new carpets and wood floors in some areas. We started with the consultation stage during which time, the owner Schlomo showed a great deal of knowledge and experience working with old hardwood floors. He then followed up diligently and commenced work on time. The team from Ambience Floors was professional, left a clean site everyday after their work, and was patient in working with me in choosing different coating finish for the floors. The results were stunning and we could not be happier. We also had to make some last minute changes during the process after discovering the old floors in one of the rooms and some areas were not workable and needed to be replaced. The team responded immediately with the new action plan, and did not impact the entire work timeline. We highly recommend this company for their knowledge and experience in this type of work.

This is the first time I hired a Pro via Houzz and I am so glad I did it! Shlomo was quick to answer my request, he came over to our place and within a few days he provided samples, a timeline and an estimate. We put in new engineered oak flooring in the stairs and upstairs (replaced a carpet) and refinished the downstairs (we have oak hardwood flooring). I wasn't sure about the final colour/finish/tint of the flooring and Shlomo provided great advice. The process was easy and there were no surprises. The installation of the new flooring was exceptional, Shlomo's team has such attention to detail. I am a very detailed oriented person and there were no comments on my side. For the refinishing of the flooring on the main floor, there was minimal dust and it was also well done. There were a few details that required touch ups (like our dog peeing at night and leaving a spot, argh!). Shlomo's crew came back and the flooring was fixed. Also, when we were about to give up on fixing an area that required a patch (there was a tile area from a decommissioned fireplace), Shlomo kindly advised us to continue and I am so happy we did it! The flooring was the last step of a long reno that we did while living at home and we truly appreciated the care and attention that Ambience Floors put into our home.

We couldn’t be happier with Shlomo and the work done by his team. This was our first flooring reno project and he was incredibly helpful and patient. I would consider our project to be on the more challenging side as we wanted a white oak herringbone on the main floor, with a matching oak up our incredibly awkward stairs going up our stacked condo unit. Shlomo was very responsive when I reached out and came over to discuss the project with us before promptly providing us with a quote that included flexibility on the quality of product we wanted installed. He came by not once but twice with samples because I said I wasn’t 100% sure on the colour I thought I wanted. And when I told him we might need to push back the start date because we were struggling to find a drywaller for the ceiling, he even helped set us up with a guy he knows which was a big help and definitely not something he needed to do, but speaks to the level of customer service he provides. In the end the herringbone looks incredible, and the stairs too. They even managed to even out the stair riser length for us which wasn’t easy and I can really feel the difference climbing up those things. He was prompt with the bill, and it was only over the estimate by the aforementioned additional work needed on the stairs which he okay’d with us before proceeding so wasn’t a surprise at all. If you are debating wood flooring in Vancouver, go with Ambience Floors, you won’t be disappointed.

No other contractor that we had connected with put the same degree of effort (and none had success) in locating the perfect product for us or . He found a perfect match and then installation process was seamless, of high quality and done expeditiously. It was a pleasure to have Shlomo, and Derek install hardwood flooring on our upper floor and stairs. The entire process including the teardown, preparation and installation was flawless. Mine was a tough challenge for any contractor: I wanted a herringbone pattern — which takes skill to install well, not to mention it’s an uncommon pattern that most installers don’t have experience laying — and I wanted a colour that’s not on trend, so in other words, very hard to find. Shlomo didn’t blink. With kindness, patience and humour, he brought me sample after sample, and asked intelligent questions that helped me focus on my priorities, needs and wants. He was also willing to take on a small job, which is a big plus for condo owners! In the end, the installation was even trickier than anticipated, and Shlomo’s team executed it with attention to detail and outstanding results. This is a man you can trust, someone who will take the time to understand you and your project, who will treat you with respect, and who will be good company along the way. We had an absolutely excellent experience with Shlomo. We are new homeowners and were hesitant and unsure about what type of flooring to get in our basement rooms after a leak, and whether or not to refloor the whole of downstairs or just the affected rooms. We were unsure if it was worth going through our insurance company in case it would negatively impact our premiums. We got fantastic advice and help from Shlomo in all of these aspects, and he ended up saving us a huge amount of money and completely transforming our dark, cheap squeaky basement floors into an incredibly bright, and cohesive space. The uneven and spongy surface we were walking on is now completely level and smooth, and I cannot overstate how much of a difference it's made to our home. Every time I walk down the stairs I get a thrill! We were provided with an extremely accurate quote and got absolutely no surprises when the bill came, and they finished a day early! I cannot recommend this company enough.

Shlomo Laniado's company replaced the wall-to-wall carpeting in my townhouse. The quality of the new carpet and the installation workmanship is superb. Mr, Laniado's crew was in and out in one day, and left no mess for me to clean up. I've hired Ambience Development before this, and I knew they would do a great job.

Shlomo and his team at Ambience have just completed their installation of our new living room and dining room floors, stairs, and baseboards -- and we couldn't be happier with the result. We were referred to Shlomo from a neighbour who vouched for the work he had done refinishing their floor. I was a demanding client -- asking many questions, hovering over the workers as they were installing our floor, not making it easy! -- but both Shlomo and his colleagues were great. Very patient, accommodating. And careful, meticulous. When we have the money to re-do the floors in our kitchen and front foyer, we know who to call.

Shlomo was a pleasure to work with for my condo renovation. Complete floors with levelled slab, removal of a textured ceiling, installation of recessed lighting throughout, and removal of an old artificial fireplace. He jumped right on the job and was flexible on a number of small additions to the task list, included some minor plumbing and under the counter lights. We have been extremely happy with the work completed in our home by Ambience Development, Ltd. We have used their services for several jobs, including installation and refinishing of hardwood floors and a smaller renovation in our upstairs attic, which included new railings, refinished floors, new electrical and painting.
