Polly Granville is a bespoke upholstery studio in south London . We do both commercial work and domestic upholstery. Committed to restoring and reinventing old pieces of furniture. Using innovative detailing and beautiful fabrics we can upholster unusual frames to create extraordinary and contemporary pieces. Each chair frames is chosen for its individuality and style. It is then sympathetically restored and reinterpreted by stripping it right back and carefully re-building it, layer by layer using modern or traditional methods. Collaborating with specialist craftspeople who share the passion of keeping traditional skills alive, each piece created is utterly unique. We work with Interior Designers, Architects and private clients on projects that are tailor made for an individual space and budget. With an eye for the unusual and a meticulous attention to detail each project becomes a functional work of art: be it large insects laser cut in felt nestled onto the back of chairs, Sultans’ heads digitally printed in velvet staring out at you or 450 miniature shell buttons hand sewn onto wool you will be surprised and delighted by the twists given to each piece

Polly is the best! She has upholstered furniture for me over the past 6 or 7 years and I've always been very happy with the results. She also has a very creative eye and is happy to give advice on fabric and colours. Her prices are very good for the quality of her work. Her workshop is easy to get to in central Brixton too. I highly recommend her.

Polly took an old eBay find chair and completely transformed it for me. I knew one fabric that I wanted to use but she was able to offer ideas and solutions for how the chair would be renovated and upholstered and add her signature detail of the applique birds made with the fabric. To use the remainder of the fabric we also had two cushions made. Everyone comments on how beautiful it is. I would definitely recommend her for any upholstery job. My husband is an architect and he has subsequently used her upholstery services for his clients on interior design work too.

We are an oversees based Interior Design Firm and we hired Polly to do several custom loose covers for a project we had just finished in Bishops Ave. At that point we had already finished the project so we were no longer in London, she was absolutely amazing helping us out measuring, selecting samples and meeting with our client on our behalf. The client ended up very happy with the result! Thanks Polly!!

I found Polly on Houzz. From our very first email conversations I was completely confident that I found the right person to bring my old sofa to life. Polly is warm, friendly, highly professional and approachable. She helped me navigate the process of reupholstering the sofa, from an initial very helpful explanation, through fantastic help with the fabric search, down to a clearly broken down invoice and a great pick up/delivery service. She's an amazing artist at her craft bringing old furniture to life with passion, attention to detail and an artistic flair. I would highly recommend Polly to anyone who's looking into breathing new life into a beloved piece.

I found Polly on Houzz and was delighted with her work. I wanted to reupholster a 70s Parker Knoll recliner which belonged to my mum and cover it with modern fabric. One look at Polly's website reassured me she was the right designer for me. Polly reupholstered my recliner in a few weeks (despite it being very complicated!) and found me some amazing fabrics through her fabric finding service. The recliner looks beautiful and has pride of place in my living room - she has truly brought my vintage furniture back to life. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a designer with great taste and excellent reupholstery skills who will breathe new life into your much-loved furniture.

I discovered Polly's unique upholstery through a local network, but I'd happily travel across London to use her services. The attention to detail on the ready made pieces I've bought is amazing - Polly takes unloved old pieces and transforms them into highly individual items of furniture. I love the subtle differences between the pair of chairs I bought, and the detail in the embroidery that sets them apart from other upholstered pieces. I've also commissioned some bespoke work from Polly, using her fabric searching service. I'm not sure what I was expecting from this beforehand as it was the first time I've used a service like this, but chatting with Polly about the chairs and looking at some ideas in the studio was incredibly helpful. Polly helped me to develop and distill my thoughts and preferences to gain a clear picture of what I wanted, and sourced a number of fabric samples that fitted the bill. Another discussion on the pros and cons of the choices available meant I was absolutely sure of my choice and delighted with the result. I will definitely use Polly's bespoke service again.
