MAC'S UPHOLSTERY

I have a black recliner that had a hole in the seat area. I contacted Michelle Allen through email. I sent her pics of the chair so she would have an idea of what type of repairs would be needed. She did say she was working on a project but could fit my chair in because it was a small repair. She told me to separate the back from the seat by just removing a couple screws. I did separate the chair which also made it easier for transport in my car. After 3 weeks, I contacted Michelle on May 26, to find out the status of the repair. I had company coming over for Memorial Day weekend so I needed the recliner. I told her I needed it for the weekend. She told me that She didn't give me a finish date therefore the recliner wasn't repaired. I told her I needed it by the weekend and she said she would make an attempt to have it done. I called on May 27 and she still had not repaired it. At this point I wanted the recliner back because I was disappointed at the service I was getting. She told me it was disassembled. I said I would pick the chair up as is. She said she would come in tomorrow morning, Saturday May 28 to finish the repair. She said to give her 3-4 hours, the repairs should be done around noon. She gave me her cell phone number because she would be to busy to answer the shop phone. I live in West Seattle so the drive to Ballard is about 25 minutes. I called her around noon on the 28th. It went straight to voice mail. I didn't have a good feeling. I had family coming to visit in an hour and needed the recliner. I went to the shop to pick up the chair and it was closed. I called Michelle on her cell and she said she was at home! I told her about how we agreed that I would meet her at the shop to pick up my recliner. She said "I don't know what to tell you. It's not finished." She said she could work on it just give her 3-4 hours, which told me she hadn't worked on it at all! She said she would deliver the recliner to my house in West Seattle. I agreed. She said she would call when she was on her way. I called that evening and she told me she couldn't put the seat back together and needed someone else to complete the job. She said she would call in a favor and have it done by Monday May 30th. I called Tuesday and she said she need to order hardware, which told me there had been a problem either assembling the seat portion. I told her I would pick it up on Friday, June 3. I did pick up the chair. The hole is repaired but it is shoddy work. The stitching is already coming apart where she attached the new material to the seat. The worst part, it is no longer a recliner! The hardware must not have came in. When you push the button to recline, it doesn't move. So know I have to hire someone to repair the repair! I am surprised how bad my experience was with Macs upholstery because they have been in business for so long!
