James Hardie Australia is wholesale distributor of fibre cement board and sheet building products which are manufactured in Rosehill NSW or CarolePark QLD.
Where to buy?
James Hardie products are commonly available from the trade section of hardware stores and timber yards throughout Australia. James Hardie does not sell direct to builders or home owners. Sorry.
How home owners can specify cladding.
Create a Houzz idea book with your vision and include pictures of the James Hardie cladding and weatherboards or vertical groove interior panels you like. Take this to your architect, building designer, draftsman or builder to help brief them on the exterior design of your home. When building commences, your builder will order the products from a hardware store and have them delivered to site. A top tip would be to request a crane truck for large orders.
Fibre cement for rooms.
If you're renovating a bathroom or laundry the durability and ability of fibre cement to resist damage from moisture is a huge win. Make sure your builder doesn't lazily use chip board flooring and plasterboard, commonly used in dry areas, in the wet areas. Make sure they use fibre cement Secura flooring and Villaboard for the walls. Especially if you're choosing expensive tiles. Individual sheets can be collected by ute or trailer from the trade section of your local hardware store. However, you have to be able to accommodate 4.2 meter board lengths and large sheet sizes.
