A-Best Air & Heat

This company charges too much for initial jobs and follow ups. They split one job into multiple visits charging for each one separately to make more money.

We have been customers of A Best since we moved to Florida in 1999. We were unaware of the recent change of ownership of the business when we contracted them to replace our aging and current-hungry cooling system. We never saw this coming. All was fine and good until 2 months after the installation, what we consider within the warranty period, the system could not keep the set temperature. We made a call and the service technician arrived at 4:30 on a Friday afternoon. He told us that the dirty air filter was restricting airflow and that was the cause of the problem. We refused to pay the service charge (because they claimed that the call was related to poor maintenance) and said we would call tomorrow when the problem recurred. It did (surprise). Now we were on the hook for a weekend service charge, but they agreed to send the technician who installed the system. He charged the freon and unexpectedly inspected the attic ducting. The system operated as it should for the next two days. When we called back again because the problem reoccurred, we expected A Best to perform a leak test as the technician informed me was the next step. Contrary to what we were told by the technician, the receptionist informed me that the problem was the attic ducting. Having had enough of the run-around from A Best, we called another service company, willing to pay a service charge just to get our system working reliably. Within 10 minutes, the service technician diagnosed a leak in the coil, that he could hear when he removed the cover. The cover had never been removed and still had the factory seal on it. Now we are paying for the labor to replace the warranty part, because A Best will NEVER receive another call or another penny from us.

Wow! What an incredible company. We had to replace our old furnace and ac unit. The professionals that came out to my property were courtesy and very informative. They explained to us the downfall of keeping our old units and believe me, it was very noticeable on our bills. We did have other estimates but they were by far, the best around. So we decided to hire them and they got us scheduled that very weekend. The installation took about 6 hours. The installers were diligent and kept a worker's pace throughout the project. They also laid down some plywood so the furnace would not be off balance and the correct amount of heat would be distributed. Complete satisfaction, me and my family could not be happier.
