The finished product was perfect. It was finished as promised on a very tight schedule and within the budget. All of the project team was excellent to work with and I would definitely have Castlerock manage my next project.

Castlerock created a dream kitchen for our Highlands home. With limited space and limited budget, we needed an update that would suit the character of our historic house while improving the use of space. Castlerock partnered with PC Home Center to design a cabinet plan for a much more usable and functional kitchen, not to mention beautiful! They were upfront and communicative throughout the process. The subcontractors, in particular the cabinet and tile installers, are at the top of the craft and their work is exemplary. The results exceeded our expectations. We are so proud of our new kitchen and so happy that we hired Castlerock!

We discovered Castlerock Remodeling after attending the 2016 Remodeled Home Tour in Louisville. We interviewed our top three candidates and felt the most comfortable with Justin and Castlerock. They did a great job delivering our remodeled kitchen and sun room and refinished our hardwood floors throughout the house. They did this on budget and on time. Justin's project managers, Charlie and Will, did a great job in keeping us informed as to next steps and communicating when the various sub-contractors (electrical, plumbing, flooring, HVAC, and cabinet installers) would be on the job.
We really liked the new kitchen layout prepared by Katharine Hatcher at PC Home Store in New Albany. The quality of the cabinets is superb.
I would highly recommend Justin and Castlerock Remodeling. They made a stressful 11 week process bearable and delivered a beautiful and functional kitchen and sun room.

What a pleasure to work with Justin and his talented team. As a designer, the best you can hope for is to have a solid construction firm to support your visions. Castlerock is very professional and very good at what they do.

Remodel kitchen with new flooring and countertop and backsplash. Guys were great and very helpful with other projects I was doing. Justin and Charlie were great. It was a small remodel but they tackled it great because they knew it was important to me. We had a couple of hiccups along the way but we worked them out just fine. Always on time and I could trust them completely. Would use them again!!

Talk about a rock star team, Castlerock construction held my hand through our entire 2,000 sq ft renovation. We started with working with a very talented artist for layouts. As many changes as I requested, they had no problem providing until we found the perfect layout to take care of all of our needs. Once construction began the staff was clean, respectful and on time. They were courteous to my home, pets, children and time. As the construction went on I added a few things and they were very reasonable with the cost. They did a nice job of staying on schedule and on budget. The craftsmanship was top notch! Once the job was finished they didn't ask for the remaining balance until I was 100% satisfied with the project. Justin was very pleasant to work with on the business side and the crew were very respectful and responsive. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for high quality work. Although they may not be the cheapest, the quality sure makes up for the difference!

Castlerock did a great job remodeling our out-of-date kitchen and breakfast room into a beautiful, functional open "Homearama" style kitchen and lifestyle area. We live in an old house that was substantially remodeled around 2005, but lifestyles and designs have changed a lot during the last 10 years. We have been trying to sell our house for a year and the biggest issue with potential buyers has been that there was no open kitchen. Potential buyers consistently greatly over-estimated the costs of opening up and re-doing the space, so we realized we would need to go ahead and just do the work ourselves. We also consulted with Castlerock on possibly adding another en suite bathroom in the bedroom area of the house, but they advised against it based on a cost-benefit analysis--it was refreshing to have someone honest enough to recommend not doing a project because they felt it would not be in my interest as a selling homeowner to do the work.
Justin, Charlie, and the rest of the team at Castlerock came in with a cost-effective plan and design and then efficiently scheduled and implemented the construction. Their advice on the project design was great, and their attention to detail excellent (Charlie, who was the foreman of the job, was even more particular than I was--truly a perfectionist!). The project proceeded on a timely and continuous work basis and was completed on time, on budget, and with minimal interruption and mess in respect of other parts of the house. They initially put up plastic to keep the demolition dust from spreading and then kept the workplace clean as they worked. The new kitchen has already begun to attract interest from potential buyers who looked at the house previously and have been keep up to date on the progress, and we haven't even re-listed the house yet. The real problem, however, is that I like the new kitchen so much that I now have some regrets that we are downsizing and moving!
Over the years, I have been involved in several residential remodeling projects. Based on my past experiences with others and on my current experience with Castlerock, I would highly recommend Castlerock to anyone looking for a contractor and, in fact, I have already hired them to do another project for me.

My wife and I are totally happy with our new kitchen. Justin and his project manager Charlie were fun to work with and very professional. Our remodel came in on budget. In fact Justin did some things that were not in the original bid but did not charge for them. He had very professional sub contractors that respected our house and the fact that we were living through the remodel. The quality of his work and attention to detail was outstanding.
I would, and have, recommended Justin to friends and family. If we take on the bathrooms next he will be the first person we call.

My house was destroyed by Justin, He may do bathrooms, I've yet to see, after 6 months I still don't have a home. Justin also defaced my property of the 200 yr old moulding around my windows. He was told repeatedly don't touch the windows. After $75000, and six months I still have no home. I fired this man and filed a police report for the damage to my Windows.. Justin is trying to say I'm a stupid woman, he says they didn't have nice wood moulding in the early 1800's. Maybe Justin needs to take an architectural history class then he will be knowledgable, the Romans carved theirs out of stone.
This is NOT my first house to redo, I have been drawing and designing house and buildings since the early 1980's. I am knowledgable enough to know that when the siding was off (which I didn't need new siding) Justin is trying to say the Windows were sagging. The. WHY were they NOT sagging on the outside and you say you jacked the wall up. NO you didn't. You took it upon yourself to destroy something you didn't like in order to make more work doe yourself. I should also add, after 7 months and $75k. There was no switches or plugs, light fixtures, insulation in attic, flooring bathrooms, paint, new windows are not caulked, etc. there is a gap sometimes 2 inches in width that runs the entire perimeter of older section that leads to outside, I actually have a picture here weeds were growing up in the bedroom.
I purchased doorknobs and I was NOT given a key to MY front door, Justin kept them.
As of Oct 2015 the dumpster and port a pot sat for 6 months in my driveway.
I fired Justin who refused to tell me the contractors that worked on my house. The drywall is butchered and not attached. YES I have pictures to back all this up! I would gladly publish them. It took over 2 months to get the siding I didn't want . Instead of salvaging anything to offset cost he GAVE everything f to a lady who pulled in my driveway anytime she wanted to take things. I could not even leave my own stuff there. I said ok to the cabinets, he gave everything he said it was easier he didn't have to worry about getting rid of things. SOOOOOOO I have nothing nice to say. I didn't even have a home for Thanksgiving. I was called a squatter in my own home. He was asked to leave my home nicely but after 5 times I was upset. This man may do bathrooms, I wish you could see mine now. I have a toilet, yes a toilet. I would NEVER recommend this man and I believe you should contact his other clients. I wish I had.

Comentario de Castlerock Remodeling and Construction:
Ms. Tilley, we at Castlerock are just as disappointed with the outcome of this project as I'm sure you are. It is unfortunate that the sudden budgetary constraints left us unable to finish the work that had been partially completed as I know the project would have been spectacular. We hope that you are doing well and we would be more than happy to finish the project that was started should the situation change. At Castlerock, we take pride in our client communication and finished products of the highest quality. We work on every home as if it is our own, which is why our clients are so happy to recommend us and are willing to speak in person with our potential clients.

The experience from day 1 until it was completely finished greatly exceeded my expectations. I did a pretty large project that included taking out a load bearing wall, ripping everything out essentially down to the studs and completely rebuilding the kitchen. Justin listened very clearly to what I wanted the end product to look like and came up with a plan that hit everything I wanted as well as thinking outside the box on some tweaks to my ideas that ended up being great creative ideas. Before work started Justin clearly set expectations regarding budget, timeline, what to expect from a major remodel like this (first time renovation for me), and communication. Once the project began, Justin and his crew showed up on time and worked very hard to get the project to completion. When issues popped up, as they always do on big remodels like this, Justin filled me in ASAP, provided me with his opinion on what to do, but also gave me other options that would suffice. In the end, I felt like I could really trust Justin's opinions and vision because he kept everything he was doing in the context of what I wanted out of the project (look, budget, timeline, etc.). The finished product looks absolutely incredible and I am certain that the other contractors I got initial estimates from would not have been able to create the same end product. While not every little detail throughout the entire process was perfect, I believe it went about as well as it possibly could for a project this major. Anyone who expects no surprises along the way is fooling themselves. The next time I am planning on doing any sort of remodel work, Justin will be the first and only person that I call. I strongly recommend him and have already shared these feelings with family and friends who are contemplating any remodel work.

We hired Justin/Castlerock Remodeling to finish our basement. We were looking for an entertainment area, along with a bedroom and full bathroom. Justin worked with us to design a very usual area but was also very flexible to a couple of changes we made during the project. He also helped us stay within our budget and informed us along the way of any unexpected cost. In the end, we have a great finished product that gives us a great family area to relax in.

Castlerock remodeling completely renovated (2) 50 year old bathroom and a partial renovation of our kitchen. The bathrooms were taken down to the studs and rebuilt to be not only very functional but beautiful, too. Our kitchen required new granite countertops, sink/faucet and garbage disposal. It really updated the kitchen. Mr. McElfish's knowledge, expertise and coordination of the subcontractors was excellent. He made sure every aspect of the project was to our satisfaction and expectations. I would highly recommend him for any home improvement project or addition to your home.
