We try our best to accommodate appointment times with our customers, but occasionally our schedule becomes booked and makes it difficult to schedule. Although reviews are meant to tell future customers about the products and services offered by a business and help them decide whether or not to use a company, this review is not an accurate reflection of our customer service and the quality of doors we offer. Our warranties evaluate several factors including: sunlight exposure, type of finish on the door, and the amount of protection from the elements provided by the porch overhang. We would like to point out a few facts that weren’t given in the above review.
The door was purchased from us by the home builder four and a half years ago in 2011 and sits in the direct sunlight of Texas, open to weather conditions that aren’t conducive to the type of wood chosen for the door. Wood doors do not last well in situations where they are exposed to direct sun light and the elements. They also require frequent maintenance (refinishing). This is a case where our Texas weather and lack of protection of the door has caused damage to the wood. Please consider the amount of sunlight and weather exposure your door will see before making a final decision. Remember that a wooden door should be viewed as a piece of furniture and can be damaged if not properly taken care of.
We would also like to point out that when Mr. Egliski’s wife contacted us concerning the weather damage to their door, she was aware that this would not be covered under a warranty. We had advised both of them of the circumstances under which it would be covered, and we are sad to say that it was not. We did not say that we couldn’t repair the door. We explained that a repair would be similar to putting a band-aid on it and that it would only be a short-term repair. We offered to replace the door at a discounted price and even followed up to see if we could help them further.
We hope that this has cleared up some of the concerns for our review readers! The Front Door Company works very hard to satisfy all of our customers and help them understand the quality of each door we offer.
