With sixty combined years of experience in the custom home remodeling and renovation business, we know how to plan, build, and complete a project with precision and excellence. A Mac-Bo home remodel is built to last with the care and planning we’d want put into our own homes. MAC-BO - WHY THE FUNNY NAME? Mac-Bo Homes & Remodels of Portland, Oregon was formed by Ed Hesse in October 2004. Originally licensed as MacArthur Booth Constructors, our vendors and subcontractors quickly began calling us Mac-Bo and it stuck. So we are now licensed as Mac-Bo, LLC. Mac-Bo has evolved into an experienced, award-winning general contracting firm. We continue to grow with the industry and are on the forefront of innovation in home remodeling and renovation design and building practices, remodeling homes throughout the Portland-Vancouver metro area and beyond.

It is telling that this the third time we have picked Mac-Bo to do a project for us. They have a great eye for details and work well with listening to our vision for each project. Finally they stand by their work. We will continue to turn to them for our remodeling needs.

Mac-Bo did a full remodel of a mid-century modern house I had bought. It included utilities, insulation, windows, incorporating a patio into an existing room, a bathroom, three bedrooms, a family room, etc. The work involved fabrication and installation of structural members, interior and exterior work. The kitchen and dining areas were the only areas not touched by the work along with the garage. The work started with demo and ended with paint and fine finishes. The team was professional, thorough, meticulous, and clean. The communication between all the parties was excellent. They were a pleasure to work with even through the few rough patches in any major project. The work they produced was superb. I have no regrets, no bad memories and nothing but admiration and gratitude for this team.

Kirk and the guys at Mac-Bo are a dream to work with. We had a very good experience with them during a job that had a very short timeline as the client needed some remodeling done just as they learned their daughter was getting married. They really delivered as they promised a really beautiful job which included two rooms inside, garage doors, lighting and improved fascia plus rain gutters. Definitely a Professional outfit Mac-Bo.

We worked with Kirk Linder to put new windows in the upstairs of our home. We had an excellent experience with him. He was accommodating to our schedule, he was professional, and he worked with us to get us what we wanted while staying within our budget. After the installation, he followed up with us to make sure we were happy with the results. Our windows look wonderful and we already can tell the difference in temperature and noise level in our upstairs. Overall, we would highly recommend Kirk Linder for any home improvement projects.

Mac-Bo helped us with a kitchen redesign/remodel project. They presented us with good ideas, brought in helpful advisors to help with the design, and helped us create a manageable project out of the universe of possible choices. We would use them again, and have done so several times.

In the summer of 2012, Mac-Bo remodeled our kitchen, entry and dining room in the main part of our house. There's not a day that goes by when I don't feel completely grateful for their services. Starting with a thorough design plan, budget considerations and adjustments, our remodel took into consideration aesthetics, lifestyle, and the integration with the rest of our mid-century home. Mac-Bo took a closed up bottleneck with semi-working appliances and turned it into an entertainment/family space with clean lines, modern functionality, and plenty of storage. On time, and on budget to boot!

I hired Mac-Bo to turn a small bedroom into a new bathroom with a shower, as well as update the current 1/2 bath in our upstairs. They did a fantastic job! Kirk and Ed listened to my needs, brought the job in on time and on budget. I would use them again for any remodel job and I guess that's the best recommendation I could make. You can trust these guys which is so ccritical these days when selecting and working with a contractor.
