Boyer Building Corporation

This is our second project with Boyer Building. Joe Fransen and the staff at Boyer helped plan for, design, obtain permits, and coordinate all of the subcontractors used on our projects. We finished our project on time, and on budget. Every person associate with the project (including the subs) were respectful of our property, and our time. And the details from start to finish were top notch and professional as we have come to expect from the Boyer team. They are not the cheapest bid you will get, but you can bank on the results. We plan on using them again on our next project.

We have used Boyer for three projects now - a complete remodel of our upstairs; a complete remodel of our lower level; and a two-story addition of a three-car garage with a primary suite above and two offices above. Boyer was wonderful to work with. We have built a home in the past and done numerous remodeling projects and we have never been as happy with the process or the results as we were with Boyer. We had a specific timeline we were working within and Boyer was incredible throughout the planning process to ensure that everything was completed on time. We were out of our house for a few months, but were always kept in the loop about what was happening at the house and when we were needed to make decisions. Our home was built in the 80s and really looked it, but we loved the footprint and feel of the home. Boyer was fantastic to work with in order to update without removing the charm and appeal of the original layout. We couldn’t be happier with our porch addition Boyer built for us this past summer. Bob, Paul, CJ, and the whole crew were so friendly and easy to work with. The space Bob designed and the team built is exactly what we hoped it would be. It is breezy and cool on warm days and cozy and comfortable on chilly days. My wife Mary picked Boyer because of their fine work with outdoor structures at the Minnesota Arboretum. We're long-time members of the Arboretum and find everything there a point of beauty. That Boyer was a major Arboretum builder meant a lot for us. Boyer built our first deck about thirty years ago, and when that deck finally wore out, it was natural to return to Boyer. Because we are older now, I asked that they design and construct a low maintenance deck, but one of equal beauty to our first deck. And how well they did! We are most happy and more than happy to recommend.

I contacted this firm (Joe Franson - good guy and knows his stuff!!) regarding cabinets that I needed to add to on a remodeling project for a home were buying. They were extremely helpful in assisting me on how I could get more cabinets to match what I already had, and then went above and beyond in taking a close look at my proposed project and giving me ideas and quotes on costs. The really good guy and personal integrity award goes to Joe for demonstrating the cost to do what we wanted, understanding that it did not make sense to do what we wanted, and no pressure or coercing to do the work. He was a true partner in our conversations and went out of his way to explain everything and made sure we really understood what we were contemplating doing. Boyer Building Corporation completed a full kitchen remodel for us. The quality of all their work was excellent. They were honest, had great ideas and were extremely efficient in their running of the entire project from beginning to end. I noticed a couple items that I thought were wrong during the project. I pointed them out to the project supervisor and they fixed/resolved both items immediately no questions asked. All the workers that worked on the project were very qualified and very professional. We continued to live in our house thru the remodel, Boyer did what they could to make this as painless as it could be by putting in temporary walls, venting, cleaning up as the project progressed and by maintaining a tight project schedule which minimized the time of inconvenience for us. I really cannot say enough about how positive the experience was and how happy I am with the results.

We had our master bathroom completely redone, new hardwood floors put down in the bedroom and matched to the hallway which was original to the house, old doors replaced, all doors painted, stairs rebuilt and stained, and a considerable amount of painting. Boyer was professional, punctual and did an amazing job. We would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

We've used Boyer for two building projects and both have turned out incredibly well. Bob is wonderful to work with, project managers are always on top of things and responsive, and they have long-term relationships with the sub-contractors so we felt like we got the best tile work, wallpaper hanger, painting, etc. I liked having my own designer for the planning and hiring Boyer to execute.

Total jerks. Set an appointment to get a bid, Bob calls the day of and rescheduled for the following evening. Ok fine, we shuffle our lives around and he no showed! Literally stood us up. No call, no text. We called and texted his cell, he would not even answer us. BOB is the only one who’s time matters I guess. I wonder what would have happened if he had gotten a down payment! Never would see him again!

Outstanding. I would highly recommend Boyer Building to anyone in need for a renovation. They are polite, professional, and their contractors/trades are the best. High quality work! Project was on time. Any issues, and there were very few, were addressed immediately. They often made recommendations and provided advice along the way to help the project, which was greatly appreciated. It's not always easy to do a renovation in a condo building, but Boyer pulled it off with any problems.

Over the top performance. Employees of Boyer are very skilled, professional and courteous. Took pride in work and did the job well. From the start, Bob Boyer & his team were great to work with. Professional, timely, clean. He designed a space that gives our family what we have wanted for years out of our house. Boyer Bldg has remodeled most of our 1958 house over the past 15 years. And during that time we have generally worked with the same team and they are terrific! Most recently, they completely remodeled two bedrooms and bathrooms, making extensive changes to the ceiling and the master bath. Everything turned out well. They were flexible when we made changes and additions and they give great advice.

I had a wonderful experience with Boyer Building Corporation. My project included a new Kitchen, tearing down a wall, converting a screened-in porch into a sunroom, new floors, and a new facade to my fireplace. I got a schedule upfront for when the work would be done, and for the most part, the project moved along at a good pace. Boyer Building remodeled our lower level. They took the space from a cold, dark cave that was rarely used to a warm, bright family friendly space with a new bedroom and full bath where we spent nearly all of our time with our new baby. The Boyer team was collaborative and offered creative solutions that helped us meet our end goals and importantly improve the infrastructure of our home. Boyer Building Corporation remodeled our kitchen. Boyer is a top quality remodeling and construction company. Integrity, ethics, excellence, responsible, quality, customer-focused, considerate, clean, competent, problem-solving, and on-time all apply to our experience with Boyer. Boyer's owners and employees work as an integrated and caring team to get the work done right. Boyer is not a "remove and replace remove" remodeler. In the middle of our project, Boyer encountered a beam in the kitchen that need to be removed in order to fit in our cabinets. As a team they came up with options to remove the beam or work around it. Most companies would have worked around it, but Boyer recommended a sound solution for dealing with the problem at modest extra cost. Thanks, Boyer. There was one glitch in our design, which Boyer remedied immediately. Boyer also did an excellent job managing their subcontractors. We would definitely hire Boyer again and highly recommend them.

From the first meeting the morning after the large tree fell onto the house until the last ladder was reloaded it was a great experience work with Joe and the crews. Everything was explained and worked out in a professional manner. All things worked out great with your help working with the insurance company. Joe Franson, and ultimately the entire project team transformed my 50 years old master bath, and my inefficient basement space into something we will enjoy for years to come. The team was great to work with - always considerate and highly skilled. I added a few extra changes in the other bath - and I am so glad to have done the work at the same time as the master bath. There were a few small things that the crew did for me that were not expected/ I could always count on a quick response from the project manager and the onsite supervisor. Trust and quality are important to me - this was the first time I did not get bids or check references because they were a local, well-respected builder. I would definitely recommend them.

We highly recommend Boyer Building for any home remodelling project you may have. We hired them to update our bathrooms. We are extremely satisfied with the quality of work, timeliness, responsiveness, knowledge and experience. They worked well with us and came in on budget and within the timeframe we expected!

We had 2 bathrooms completely remodeled including tile, electrical and plumbing. Joe Franson from Boyer Building was our main contact and did an excellent job coordinating the job.

Way back in 1996 we hired Boyer Building to put a master suite addition on to our home (as well as other improvements). We had such a great experience with Bob and his team that we knew exactly whom to call when we decided to expand and remodel our kitchen. (In fact, we had been teasing Bob for years when we'd see him at Remodeler's Showcase events.) In 2014 we finally made it happen. We didn't bother going to anyone else for bids; based on our past experience we know Boyer would be very fair. In fact, they even let me do some of the work to save money when we built our addition in 1996. Bob provided great ideas on how to extend our kitchen and integrate the area with our existing kitchen; he also provided great advice on how to repurpose our family room to serve as a dining room. For the kitchen extension, it was very important that we precisely match the existing cabinetry but upgrade where we could, including new Cambria countertops (which we love) and lighting. Bob walked us through several iterations of the design until we determined precisely what we wanted then provided a fair estimate. And once again, Bob let me do some of the work to save money. Unfortunately, since we had purchased cabinets for a previous kitchen remodel from a certain national big box store that loves orange, we had to go to them to purchase additional cabinets. What should have been a very simple scheduling/remodeling exercise quickly turned into a nightmare when said big box store sent us cabinets with the wrong finish. After several iterations of convincing them that we were not 100% at fault that they ordered the wrong cabinets (really), we were finally able to start up again. Through it all Elaine (Goepfert), the project manager, and everyone at Boyer were very supportive and incredibly flexible. What should have been a one month project turned into three months but Bob, Elaine, and their team never wavered in their commitment to us. In fact, they took on extra work to make the kitchen more livable while we waited for replacement cabinets. Despite the relatively small nature of the job and several schedule delays, Boyer still made us feel that we were partners and that our remodeling job was very important to them. And we were able to stay within budget, thanks to Boyer's flexibility (although I did request several change orders/upgrades along the way, which Elaine graciously incorporated into the schedule). Working with the entire Boyer team, as well as subcontractors, was a pleasure. They went out of their way to make up for the lost time and were always ready with spot on advice as the remodeling progressed. True professionals from front to back. Their support and commitment turned our nightmare back into a dream. We couldn't be happier with the results, which have also made it much easier to entertain larger groups (and we have taken full advantage). We could eminently trust them and did not feel we had to be present while they worked. I can't recommend Bob and his team highly enough. I just wish I had gone to him for the original kitchen remodel about 8 years ago. Don't be fooled into thinking that a national big box store is the most economical way to remodel a kitchen. Go to a professional first.

We hired Boyer Building Corporation to remodel the main floor of our 1980's Steiner Koppelman-designed two-story colonial style home. I contacted a couple of builders who's work I was familiar with, and chose to work with Boyer because of the personalized, prompt attention I received from Joe Franson who came to my home to meet with me and discuss the project. His enthusiasm for the project, and ability to understand our families needs, coupled with years of experience in managing projects like this, gave me confidence that the work would be done right. Our home had many fine quality finisheses and we wanted to be sure that what ever we did would be up to the same standard or exceed those standards. Joe understood this, and we accomplished this in the end results. Working with him was a pleasure from beginning to end., The project was to take a dated kitchen and familyroom and combine them into a new big kitchen with a dining table that could be expanded to seat my entire growing extended family of 17. The old formal dining room would then be converted to a den. Joe helped me scale the project to fit in the budgeted amount, and accomodated my need to reuse existing cabinetry where ever possible as to maximize what we had, and not create waste. We also updated most of our applicances, reusing those which were still in adequate working condition. Joe made many suggestions for upgrades to benefit our family and our use of the space that I wouldn't have thought of. One example of this is the coffee station that is more accessible for my guests with our Keurig coffee machine, and a drawer with partitions for the Keurig cups. We love this and use it all of the time. Joe was very detail oriented and was always watching out for the small details of design function. I always felt that he had my back as I made selections and decisions along the way. Joe was assisted by Matt Dolan who is credited with design help, and generated beautiful computer drawings of the rooms. The project started in August with a "deadline" to finish in November by Thanksgiving which we did. The various trades people who worked on my project were coordinated and scheduled by Elaine Goepfert. She is the person who was in contact with me on a day to day basis letting me know which trades people were coming and what work was going to be done. I really can't say enough for the trades people that Boyer contracts with. They were all so good at what they do, very professional, and personable too talk to. Even though it was a lot of people coming and going, everyone was respectful of our space, and our home. I never felt uncomfortable with my family living there (upstairs, and downstairs in the basement) during construction. The lead carpenter, Paul Breeggemann, knows everything and is the "handiest" man I know! The painting crew were really talented. They helped my pick a paint/glaze treatement for my cabinetry in the den that is just stunning. I am so pleased with the results. Big shout out to Tony, the lead painter. I could go on and on about the stone masons, the cabinet makers, the tile man, the glass people...they were all experts in their fields and very competent in their work. Great work is done by great workers and Boyer brought together an excellent team for our project. The work progressed smoothly with little or no gaps, testimony to Elaines hard work behind the scenes scheduling things. The contract I had with Boyer included 20 hours of design service with Nan Sloan with The Sitting Room design studio. Nan helped me make my vision of 'Lake Minnetonka meets Cape Cod" come to life in the final design. Again, working within a tight budget, and reusing many pieces I had collected over time, we were able to accomplish this. Nan was (is) a delight to work with. She works collaboratively with me, and brings great ideas into the mix. I have enjoyed working with her from the beginning to end. The results are stunning. I am so happy with the space(s). They have exceeded my expectations, and although living through a construction project is never pleasant, I would do it again for these incredible spaces. We used Boyer Construction to rebuild our deck. The two gentlemen that we dealt with were Pete Boyer and Joe Franson. They were very professional at all times; the workers were knowledgeable and had a can-do attitude; were great problem solvers; and were always prompt. We had a complete kitchen remodel done. This project included opening up a wall between the kitchen and dining room, new cabinets, appliances, electrical, plumbing, adding a sliding glass door and tearing out existing wood and slate floors and installing new wood throughout. Extensive remodel of my main bathroom and master bathroom. The remodel was exactly what I wanted. The advice given was on the mark. The subcontractors they used were the best in the business I believe. Joe was responsive and helpfull. The project was very well-managed.
