Come Home, Design and Remodel

Brian did a kitchen remodel for us 3 years ago. I recently had him bid on another project, not even considering having to get another bid. He still had the same excellent team of tradespeople. Other friends had chosen Brian and Come Home Design so we wanted that same great service and quality work for our bathroom shower remodel.

3 years ago, having moved to Seattle from Sacramento, we did a kitchen remodel on the apt. we bought downtown. Brian was recommended by our realtor. He was efficient, skilled in overseeing all elements of the work and has exceptional, experienced trades people. His plumber, electrical and tile people were great. All was done in a timely fashion. When recently I had him work up a quote on a bathroom remodel he still had the same group of workers. I didn’t even consider getting another bid.

We chose Come Home to do a major remodel of our home (living room, family room, kitchen, main bedroom and main bathroom, about 1800'). The results were way beyond what I had anticipated. Saying I'm happy would be an understatement. I would recommend Brian just for his professionalism, quality of work, and keeping me informed. Some of the remodel required some inventive design - our floating shelves are a work of art! :) But there are two things that standout that I can't recall ever having with anyone before this. One was his clarity on billing established strong trust. I knew he was looking out for me. The other one was how he worked with me. There are a lot of little details involved in making a great, showcase, home. I never really appreciated that before. But Brian spent countless hours with me helping make what at first appeared to be minor decisions but are really what makes a home so livable. Brian was great about always giving candid advice without ever trying to convince me. He just wanted me to be informed so I could make the best decision. Very often we worked out what to do together - very cool and very satisfying. I can't recommend him enough.

We were in the process of planning an fairly large kitchen remodel which required not only tearing out the existing cabinets, but the removal of two walls to create a giant, single room. It was our cabinet rep that put us in contact with Brian and we were so much better off as a result. Brian came in and absorbed the details of the project and quickly scoped it out. He was always in contact and during our initial meetings ask numerous questions. Once the work began it ran smoothly and efficiently. Subs showed up on time and in the event they couldn't, it was communicated in advance. Subs are very booked now and he was able to search around to get an excellent tile installer to come in and finish up our tile, which had been delayed in shipping by several weeks. A number of times we discussed tricky building situations and how to best solve them, during which, he was very open to our suggestions and ideas. And as the project is almost completely done, he was still following up to make sure the cabinet touch up work was done and any issues with building inspections, etc. There were a lot of moving parts with this, including a massive 6' x 10' island that was one of the biggest he had done. It's all turned out beautifully. I'm so glad our cabinet rep put us in contact!

We were extremely pleased with Brian's work updating our kitchen. Brian is a great communicator, listens well, and is very detail-oriented. His work is high quality and very durable- he doesn't cut any corners. This is my third project working with Brian and I would highly recommend reaching out to him for any construction/remodel project.

Brian is a wonderful general contractor to work with! We previously worked with him on remodeling our master bathroom, and when we decided to remodel our kitchen and complete some other upgrades to our home, we knew we wanted to work with Brian again. He is an excellent communicator, and brings a great mix of creativity and pragmatism to both the planning and construction phases of his projects. Working with a contractor with a design background is REALLY beneficial in being able to turn ideas into reality. For instance, he helped us to design some custom blown glass pendant lights that turned out even better than I could have imagined! Brian also has cultivated trusting, respectful relationships with his subcontractors, and supports local businesses and suppliers as much as he can, a value that means a lot to me. He also stands by his work and is an effective problem solver for the inevitable bumps in the road. On top of all of this, we survived a major construction project during COVID, and Brian fully supported us in ensuring that careful precautions were taken by everyone involved. We LOVE our new kitchen and renovated downstairs, and can't thank Brian enough for making it all happen!

We hired Brian for a full basement remodel. The scope of our project included design work for the new basement layout (including bedrooms and bathroom), as well as demo work, engineering, electrical, plumbing, framing, insulation, HVAC, concrete work, windows, tile, millwork, painting, and so on. This was our first remodel and we didn't know what to expect. He made it a positive and relatively smooth experience. He was very receptive to our input and we were able to execute a great design that really exceeded our expectations. Brian always put our needs and wishes first. He made it very clear that our satisfaction was his priority. Any time I had a concern about the project, he would find a way to make it right. He and his subcontractors worked hard and consistently for the duration of the project. Everyone he hired did excellent work and were friendly and considerate of my family while they worked in our home. The end result is phenomenal. We now have a space that we love to use, and I smile every time I walk into my basement. Every person we've shown has been blown away. The care and attention to detail really, really shows. We'd definitely recommend Brian!

Come Home is a top-flight design build contractor who worked collaboratively with us to execute a complete and beautiful kitchen redesign and remodel. The owner, Brian, planned and executed exquisitely, whether managing his excellent subcontractors or doing his own flawless finish carpentry (finish quality being how I ultimately evaluate anyone's work). I believe that it was Brian's excellent planning and design background that was the secret to project success, from tight adherence to the production schedule to tasteful design recommendations to project completion on budget! Finally, Brian is a pleasure to work with. The people who recommended him to us put it best: Working with Brian is like having like having a good friend in your house who you never get tired of seeing everyday. The work itself is stunning and we couldn't be more pleased. Some neighbors of ours were equally blown away and have retained Come Home for their own kitchen remodel later this year. Hire Come Home if you can get them!

I wish I could give Brian 10 stars!!! This project was perfect from start to finish. Brian was very attentive to all the details when we were planning our new kitchen, from the work flow to where we would keep the pots and pans! Once the construction started everything flowed so smoothly--there were no surprises, no mistakes. The project came in on budget, and Brian and his subcontractors were easy to work with. After Brian finished with my home a friend saw the results and said "the lucky person is the one working with Brian at the moment". Brian really is amazing. Not just with his care and quality but in the way he interacted with me. I hired him and his company for a major interior remodel and kitchen. He finished on time and within budget. He was also polite and kind which is something I didn’t expect. He usually picked up the phone or called back right away and welcomed my questions. I always felt like he was genuinely interested in helping me feel comfortable through the process and always took the time I wanted to explain things I didn’t understand or to help me make decisions. He helped with the entire process from design and how to use the space and aesthetic options to the functional, structural and practical things too. I’m not surprised also that his subcontractors and specialists were also very nice, helpful and interacted with me in a way that showed they really care about the project and about me too. I really can’t say enough about my experience with Brian and Come Home. I think he is exceptional and rare in the world of contracting. I agree with my friend that the one working with Brian is the lucky one at the moment.

Brian, It was the best of times it was the worst of times, until you came along and transformed the lodge. We as a brotherhood are very reflective on the state of the lodge and to be honest we were in a dubious state. When one thing starts unfolding, we aren’t quite as disciplined, aren’t quite as scholarly, and not the gentlemen we strive to be. You have restored order my friend. I apologize for any difficult people you have had to deal with or for any time you have felt like you work went unnoticed. WE APPRICIATE YOU more than you know. Thank you for everything you’ve done.
