We had a great experience with 9th Avenue Designs. Pat helped us design our dream backyard. He was wonderful to work with. We are so happy with how everything turned out.

We brought 9th Avenue Design on to handle our backyard pool project. It was a very difficult project with elevation challenges. Pat was awesome! He worked with his team to develop all of the hardscaping: walls, steps, drainage and pavers. He then turned to his landscape team to handle the lighting, irrigation and plantings. The project turned out unbelievable. My family loves it. I would highly recommend 9th Avenue Design to anyone considering a landscape project.

Pat and his team are highest quality and such nice folks. We had a big home project of redoing all landscaping plus adding a deck, outdoor kitchen, patio, and garden beds. Our style was not traditional for northeast Ohio, and we really appreciated Pat going the extra mile to make sure materials we liked (e.g. “tabby” pavers) could withstand the elements in a northern climate. Unlike other landscape architects, he didn’t try to change what we wanted - he actually seemed to enjoy trying to understand what we wanted then make it happen beautifully. Work with Pat, and you won’t be disappointed!

He listened to us first, then gave us some ideas and between what we originally discussed plus his "flavor" our yard became very Beautiful! Pat Beam was a pleasure to work with on a complete and successful landscaping renovation, The house is 60 years old and the exterior had been seriously neglected for some time. We worked with Pat on a complete redesign, which included significant investments in hardscaping, beds, lawn and lighting. We now have a show piece property with great exterior spaces that we will be able to enjoy for many years.

I have been so pleased working with Pat Beam at 9th ave. I am saving the 5th star until my project is finished! We are at the start of recreating my backyard: with a large pool/hot tub and stone patio, outdoor kitchen and outdoor TV area and fire pit. Another positive to working with Pat is he is masterful at taking a large overwhelming job (at least to me , the homeowner) and breaking it down. He keeps me on task and together we start to create a landscape that represents the look and feel that is right for me and my family.

We had a new house build and needed plans for the city to approve including initial pantings, design of walkways final grading plan, future fence layout and a paved patio and pergola in the back. Patrick Beam and 9th avenue designs was able to give the designs that we needed at a fair price. Then he was able to direct me to people who had dirt that we needed for no additional fees. We will be working with him again I am sure. He provides references and both responded and were happy to talk.

9th Avenue Designs, LLC was originally hired to give our attorney a competitive bid regarding fixing a drainage issue on our historic property. Our home built in 1841, a very prominently located historic home, was sold to us with an enormous water drainage issue. Pat Beam, the founder and owner of 9th Avenue Designs was instrumental in setting the stage for attaining the appropriate outcome for the legal defense of the case. Once this situation was under control, my partner and I hired 9th Avenue Designs to draw up plans to physically and esthetically engineer our property into the showplace that it has become. One of Pat's passions is working with natural materials, not manufactured or engineered substrates that give a very homogenized look that anyone has at their disposal. The way in which his team takes pride in their craft seams, almost to me, to be a lost art. From the stonemasons to the crew that plants mature trees, everyone takes great pride in keeping an immaculate job site and is highly skilled, courteous and respectful. Our first meeting with Pat was in 2009 and he still continues to work with us today. 9th Avenue Designs met every deadline, including working with 3 separate boards for approval (x2 each), and their budgets are well within reach of the discerning buyer. You get what you pay for and more. Just this past year, we tackled a very ingenious earth ramp to the back of our newly built garage with incredible stonework and sod. When I received the final bill, I could only think that it was a misprint. I would have paid much more for much less had Pat not been at the helm. Suffice to say that no matter where we are living, Pat and 9th Avenue designs will be there to make our lives more beautiful and meaningful. If stellar design and impeccable esthetics are what you are striving for, I urge you to take advantage of this incredible resource. However, if you are only looking for a utility player at a low end cost, please do not embarrass yourself or waste this prodigy's time. Save him and his team for the rest of us. Seriously!

9th Avenue Designs came recommended from a top local residential architect with reference to design capabilities, quality sub trades, and project management abilities. I have found that Pat Beam, RLA (9th Avenue Designs) exceeded my expectations in design presentation, appropriateness, and pricing schedules. His attention to reticent detail stands out! The completed arts and craft cottage garden scheme blended well with other existing home sites, incorporated key site lines, while adding charm to the eleven home community. 9th Avenue Designs designed and installed a new driveway with planting. It was a large job with lots of stonework and drainage features. We are happy with the design and finished appearance. Pat and his crew are professional and easy to work with on a project!

Pat Beam developed the landscaping plan for our new home construction. He developed both the hardscape plan, the planting plan and the lighting plan. The timing of the hardscape was critical and he found a great crew to perform the hardscaping. We had lots of large boulders as the slope of the property was severe. The planting crew was equally strong. We have had some plants that have not survived and they were replaced. The lighting looks great and we may add some additional lighting. The work was performed on time and on budget and it looks great and is very functional. We are very pleased. I would recommend 9th Avenue Designs.

The professional direction and planning were collaborative, creative, and clean! There are so many little details that would have been overlooked by other teams that Pat presented to me that allowed me to make my own choices in design and, of course, made aesthetically pleasing by the 9th Avenue team and years of experience. 9th Avenue Designs was great to work with. The design process took a couple of meetings to finalize and then we started to put a budget together. After budgets were approved they got started and the job was run very smooth. Our job was pretty involved (patio, pool, outdoor kitchen and fireplace, lighting, irrigation and plantings) and you could tell they were very able to do a job of this scope. Pat (landscape architect) gave us a schedule and to our amazement the job was finished under time and on budget. 9th Avenue Designs and Pat will always get a referral from us

We hired 9th Avenue Designs to provide a plan for the exterior of our home for a complete renovation. I was very impressed -- Pat uses all of his knowledge and experience in order to create a unique design specifically for us. I felt like the other people we talked to were just proposing the same elements they do do everywhere, and weren't nearly as focused on details. I would strongly recommend 9th Ave.
