Nicky is the first Interior Designer I got in touch with, and now (4 years later) she is still the first person I would go to if I would need any advice. Nicky is extremely talented, has a great eye for interiors and brings life into soulless rooms. Nicky is also very fun to work with, she is kind, funny and brightens up your day. I would highly recommend Nicky to anyone who is looking for an interior designer!

After becoming exasperated by various kitchen designers working for kitchen suppliers who don`t seem to listen, and just want to get as many units in as possible, we came across Nicky and booked a home visit. Within minutes we were impressed by her knowledge, ideas, and design flair, which of course could be applied to whatever kitchen unit supplier we decided to use. She also looked at how we use the room and how it linked in with the rest of the house, and gave us ideas for that too. We couldn`t recommend her highly enough and will certainly work with her again.

Engaging Nicky to help us with the interior design for our renovation of a Cottage proved to be an invaluable decision. Nicky’s approach to the interior design was warm, engaged and professional throughout. She made sure she understood clearly what we were after and helped us with the layout, colours, lighting and furnishings for the whole Cottage. We were bringing modern furniture with us, and she ensured that this melded well with the 18th Century Cottage by including more natural textures to ‘soften' the modern furniture. We particularly valued her commitment to understanding our ideas and preferences rather than simply imposing her own, but then guiding us to make positive, bolder decisions. The end result is a fantastic space that works incredibly well as a unified open-plan area and we are delighted with the results. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nicky to anyone.

Starting a home revamp at the start of the Pandemic was never going to be easy, and one which we would never have achieved so successfully (or at all!) without Nicky. Working with clients with little design experience, Nicky took time to understand how our busy family home functions and what we wanted to achieve from the process. Nicky worked with us to develop our 'vague ideas', often introducing new ones which took us out of our comfort zone, but which proved to be spot on and which we are delighted with! Nicky was a massive help sourcing and recommending materials, beautiful lighting, hard and soft furnishings and was able to draw on the services of professional craftspeople to carry out work for us to a very high standard. Nicky was so approachable, responsive and genuinely enthusiastic about our project. She made such a difference! We are delighted with our new look family home and would thoroughly recommend Nicky.

We'd lived in our Victorian (1865) terrace for over 2 years before understanding how we wanted to use the rooms. The house is packed full of original features, wooden floors, shutters, cornice, ceiling roses and windows and we were nervous about how we could bring it up-to-date while maintaining a traditional feel. Feeling a bit out of our depth we found Nicky on Houzz and invited her to come and give us some ideas. From the outset the process was exactly what we needed. Nicky was very keen to realise 'our vision' (albeit, it was a very sketchy one) rather than her own. Having said that she was quick to steer us away from the worst of our ideas, giving us confidence that the end result would be one we loved. Between us we were quick to narrow down on the kind of look we wanted and Nicky was a great help when it came to recommend and sourcing materials, accessories and reliable craftsmen to undertake the work. Nothing was too much effort. Initially focusing on just the hall, stairs and landing we subsequently engaged Nicky to help with the sitting room, dining room and a home office. The next stage of the project will be the bedrooms, and we wont hesitate in asking Nicky for further help when we get there. All-in-all it was a fun process and the end result is a beautiful home full of features that make us smile each time we see them.

Would definitely recommend Nicky! As a couple with wildly different ideas on design and approach, not only is Nicky a great source of ideas, she is a proven negotiator and project manager. Nicky has a good nose for getting to the heart of the design issue and developing strong concepts that firm up vague ideas that might have been in your head, but are much better defined and improved on and she will often surprise you. We are nearing the end of a large double-story extension project and I can honestly say that hiring Nicky was one of the best decisions we have made. I was initially hesitant about bringing in an interior designer because I considered this to be a luxury and not a necessity, but soon realised that her advice, support and guidance was in fact crucial to the success of everything. Nicky provided vital help when I was floundering in a mass of decisions, she took control exactly when I needed assistance, and was happy to liaise with kitchen fitters and builders to ensure all was carried out to a high standard. I worked with Nicky on the colour scheme for this job in Chelsea. The client was a young man who wanted something to reflect his individuality and style in a palette that was complementary to some of his quirky possessions. Young man about town! Nicky worked closely with the client and ensured that the project was brought in on budget and on time. The quality of the installation is superb and attention to detail was outstanding.

I have recently worked with Nicky photographing her beautiful project in Chelsea and it was a great collaboration. She arrived earlier with an interior stylist to prepare for the shoot and add some beautiful details to the decor, which shows her high level of professionalism. We hired Nicky after talking to multiple designers to help us with the tricky balance of a complete renovation from outside of the U.K. with two of us in full time jobs with two very small children. She got it straight away. Her colour choices really helped us make the house homely but stylish as colour is definitely something I’ve previously shied away from. Nicky provided a completely professional service for the interior upgrading of a number of rooms in our house, including master bedroom/bathroom, other bedrooms, utility rooms and reception rooms. The project ran during 2018, at a pace that suited my schedule. All services were well documented with detailed specifications, drawings and story boards. Third party contractors engaged by her were highly professional as well. She quickly understood the brief, and anticipated well designs and colours that I would like. I am delighted with the finished work, and I have re-engaged her to work on a London house for me.

Nicky Percival is a qualified and talented Interior Designer. She has worked with me to design six rooms, so far! Nicky does not try to impose her own preferences: she finds out, through thoughtful questioning, what her client is trying to achieve in terms of colour, style and atmosphere. Nicky’s greatest attribute is that she is able to visualise fully what the room will look like on completion, something I personally find impossible. This means that she knows which colours work together well, the furnishings that will complement the scheme and importantly the correct size/proportions if you are buying new furniture. Nicky’s designs are also very original, as she is able to think of those little touches that make your room look very individual. I have thoroughly enjoyed transforming my home into one which is a true reflection of my personality and am grateful to Nicky for making it possible. Our project was the redesign and decoration of a master bedroom. Nicky gave us guidance in choosing wallpaper, colour schemes, light fittings, radiators, and furniture including painted wardrobes - in particular coming up with ideas for (and sourcing) some beautiful window dressings, which have really brought the scheme together. Following the design process, Nicky was able to provide people to carry out individual aspects of the decoration, who did an excellent job. I had the pleasure of doing a photo shoot with Nicky Percival for Homes & Antiques magazine and she was professional and a pleasure to work with. Her spaces were already beautifully put together and styled, which made photographing them straightforward and pleasurable. I particularly liked how she brings personal and original touches into each room. As an interviewee, she was as knowledgeable about art and artefacts as she was about principles of interior design. I've also seen Nicky at London's design shows, where she keeps on top of current trends.

We commissioned Nicky to redesign our kitchen. The kitchen that had come with the property was configured so that the kitchen looked out over the garden but the dining area faced the road. We wanted to swap this around and install a modern, clean minimalist kitchen that still had a personality. Nicky was brilliant and understanding and realising our brief. She fused pragmatism with an incredibly elegant taste level. The end result was a mat white, paired-back kitchen with honed marble subway tiles on the walls. The kitchen counter we decided on was a steel top which contrasted beautifully with the slim, honed marble top on the island whose base was rough sawed oak. For the floors, we went for concrete-looking oblong ceramic tiles. Nicky helped guide us into choices that resulted in a kitchen that was modern but organic, minimalist but characterful and all topped off with 1950s light fittings. We're absolutely delighted with our kitchen which is now the hub of our home.

Nicky helped our client design their lounge / kitchen diner following wall removals and alterations carried out by us. Nicky provided a great link between us as the contractor and the client. It allowed her design flair to shine within a practical understanding of the implications of all aspects of the works, especially the timing of decision making by the client.
