The best test of an interior designer's impact is how a home feels after you've had a chance to live in it for a while. Keri was our interior designer for our new-construction condo about 3 years ago. I don't at all enjoy the process of interior design, so I totally appreciated how Keri learned about our tastes and lifestyle, then navigated the process for us, saving me time and aggravation. We have used KOR Interior Design for 2 major home improvement projects as well as a number of other smaller projects over the past 10 years. Keri listened to us and observed our style. Our house needed a makeover of our main living spaces to create a better flow. She incorporated the items of ours that worked and recommended updates to the rest. We updated our flooring with stained wood floors and new carpeting. Keri then stretched us by presenting materials for furniture, upholstered and tables, that were different textures, colors and prints. The key was that all of her ideas were our style. We have a uniquely, warm, livable space that is us!

I have had the pleasure of working with KOR Interior Design, and specifically Keri Olson, for a variety of projects spanning over a decade. In fact, as I look around my home, there are very few rooms that have not been touched by Keri. The scope of the projects have ranged from full master suite and lower level renovations, along with the redesign of living room and family room spaces. She has also helped me freshen up the kitchen, redo bathrooms, update lighting, select paint, etc! Obviously, we have been very pleased with her personalized service and attention to detail. As busy professionals, we need someone that we completely trust with our home. We started working with Keri to update a 20 year old kitchen, but over time she has helped us update the whole main level and finished basement. She came highly recommended by our architect, who had worked with her in the past. We found Keri to be a good listener who respected our style choices and budget. Keri was great to work with on our kitchen remodel. She was patient and came with ideas on how to improve our kitchen layout to improve the look and the functionality of the kitchen. The short version of this review is "Hire Keri Olson (KOR Interior Design) now." Keri worked with us on a seven-month project involving a kitchen renovation, bath renovation, and a two-story addition including a master suite in our 1920's bungalow in South Minneapolis. We also had an architect and of course the builder. Keri's impeccable taste was only the beginning of the value she brought to our project. During the design phase, her attention to detail, practical ideas about how we would use the new space (based on careful listening to us), and a canny understanding of cost versus value got us design features and functionality that we hadn't known we would want. During the building phase, which was by far the most complex and expensive undertaking we had ever attempted, Keri's ability to act as liaison between us and the architect and builder and, again, her practical knowledge and experience. helped us navigate the stress successfully. Time after time we would go to her to help us find the right way to communicate with the builder and tradespeople to clarify or correct issues as they arose. As Keri helped us decorate the space, her process saved us from the vastness of paint, wallpaper and fabric choices by carefully curating the selections she brought for us to evaluate. She listened carefully to our reactions, and continued to refine the selections until we had found ones that we all loved. Six months after we completed the project, we are still thrilled with every single aspect and still comment daily on features that Keri is directly responsible for. We did a major remodel on our 1920s Minneapolis home. We were referred to Keri by a friend who had used her design work in the past. We cannot recommend Keri highly enough! We have already recommended her enthusiastically to friends. Keri was a joy to work on so many levels. She listened. She came with plenty of really great ideas based on her professional experience and excellent taste, but she always tailored the design to our needs, finding artful ways to make the best of our eclectic style. Design never trumped functionality. She was tireless and reflective. I know Keri had other clients and projects while she worked with us, but it never felt that way. She devoted so much thought and attention to our project throughout. Even now, months after the project has finished, we often feel a rush of gratitude for the gentle nudges that steered us away from even major design elements that seemed like a good idea in the moment but would not make the best use of the space. Keri consistently steered our design conversations back to questions and discussion of how we would use the space and how to create an aesthetically pleasing space that was also completely livable. Over the course of the project, it became clear that she was mulling over our project even when she wasn't at work. Keri's relationship with us was marked from the beginning with a perfect balance of warmth and consummate professionalism. Undertaking such a major remodel was a stressful experience. Keri helped ease that stress with laughter and understanding. She also helped us continue to see the bigger picture and to understand an often unfamiliar process with so many moving parts. She helped us navigate the inevitable challenges along the way. Finally, Keri was genuine. Throughout the project and in the months since, Keri's interactions have always been sincere and honest. We quickly developed a deep level of trust that we relied on heavily in our work with other professionals in the process. In short, Keri is amazing!

Keri redesigned our kitchen and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Keri gets to know her clients and their tastes. She listened and understood what I was looking for and needed and her service and selections were completely personalized to meet our needs. Keri is creative and resourceful and a pleasure to work with. Work was scheduled and took place in lock step fashion. There are so many things I love about my new kitchen! The only difficult thing i thought I had to part with in my old kitchen was the 70’s era built in “desk” which had sufficed as “my office”. Ever resourceful, Keri came up with an alternative and even better “command center” by transforming and customizing an area immediately adjacent to the kitchen. I was thrilled! Keri just recently remodeled our master bath shower and once again, delivered a well thought out design with unique and very high quality features. I highly recommend Keri for any home design need. She is a complete professional and an absolute delight to work with.

Kari designed and managed the construction of custom made furniture for our condo. She is extremely creative, professional and easy to work with and not afraid to challenge our thinking. The results were fantastic.
