We hired Justin and his team to restore two 111 year old chimneys that were leaking water onto top floor ceilings. I didn't want a brand new looking chimney on an antique house, but one that looked like it was part of the original structure. They did an amazing job of replacing broken bricks and removing old mortar with replaced and perfectly matched 1909 colored mortar. The men were professional, courteous, hard-working and even cleaned the site when they were finished. From Justin's first visit and estimate through completion, the approach was professional and courteous. Thank you for a great job! We'll be rehiring Justin Epstein Masonry for any future work.

Justin and his team were great! We had Justin build a raised paver patio. The job turned out awesome. We hired him to put in a matching paver front walk and raised side porch. All 3 projects were completed and on budget. Justin and his team were very easy to work. We would definitely hire Justin again and have recommended his services.

Justin completed two jobs for me. One was a large retaining rock wall. The other was a landing/walkway at the base of my front porch steps. In both cases, Justin was able to help me with design advice and recommendations for completing the job in a cost-effective manner. Justin Epstein Masonry excavated and created a back yard for us. This included constructing a 4 foot high retaining wall around the back yard perimeter. Justin and his crew demonstrated many traits not typically found in this day and age, such as: 1. a super strong work ethic. Arriving at the job site early and staying late. 2. A high attention to detail, Justin searched high and low for the perfect stone for our back yard and brick for our patio. He created a beautiful, artistic environment. 3. A desire to please the customer; so many contractors these days have a "my way or the highway" attitude. Not Justin. Justin genuinely is a pleaser. He loves to see smiles on his customers faces. 4. He does not nickle and dime his customers. Changes and modifications once the job was underway did not create a crisis with Justin. Justin is the BEST mason in town! We learned about Justin a few years back from a flyer in our mailbox promoting his new masonry business. We like to use local tradespeople, so we called him to discuss our needs. We really liked Justin, his style and professionalism, and decided to use him for one project that, over time, turned into many! Justin and his crew have done several projects at my home including rebuilding every stone retaining wall (9 walls!) on the property that had collapsed due to years of neglect by the previous homeowner. Justin used a combination of dry-set and wet mortar techniques when rebuilding the walls as appropriate to the function of the wall (many are retaining walls and some are decorative). We also retained Justin to tear out two exterior deteriorating concrete/brick staircases and replace one of them with massive granite slabs, creating a beautiful and natural entry to the home. Justin met us at his preferred stone yard nearby to show us a selection of slabs and secured them for a very good price. Part of this stair slab project also included rebuilding a lengthy rock staircase in the garden. Another project Justin managed was the addition of a 120+ feet of granite curbing on our property line and parking strip to divert water off the property and to identify our off-street parking areas. Using his extensive network of providers, Justin was able to secure perfectly good "reused" granite curbing, saving us a sizable amount of cash on a project that was necessary. The last job Justin did for us was remove and reset a brick paver patio that had also been neglected for years. The result is a beautiful outdoor dining and sitting area off the kitchen, giving us another "room" for outdoor living. Each project was done on time, on budget, and the work was performed by Justin himself or by his crew being thoughtfully supervised by Justin. Also, each project has been professionally and technically supported by all necessary and appropriate products and techniques to do the job right (Justin advises of dry/wet techniques, adding crushed stone and Lynn-pack, drainage issues, etc.). Justin knows his business! Drainage off of our seaside property is a huge problem. On two occasions, flooding rain water damaged a retaining wall and the rock staircase that Justin had repaired. Once called, Justin was over in the rain to observe the problem in real time, and to assess the drainage patterns and develop a plan that he executed with his crew within days of the flood. He stands by his work. Justin is friendly, kind, efficient, accessible and very fair in his pricing and scheduling. We have had him back for four contracts over the course of four years, and would have him back again! We are happy to recommend Justin, a master craftsman, a terrific small businessman, and a nice neighbor!

We have used Justin Epstein for three separate projects @ our home over the past two years. In each situation Justin confirmed a mutually acceptable appointment time with us and showed up with past project pictures and samples and went over the scope of work we wanted performed. Justin returned a thorough estimate including detailed scope of work and cost breakdowns and a start date. Justin and his team did a great job for us last year in building our fieldstone wall. Justin brought ideas to the process that we embraced and worked with our plans even as they evolved as materials were arriving on site. He's a hands-on contractor who was on-site frequently and he ensured that the job was done to his exacting standards. Our job was delayed by rain several times but whenever we had a weather break he had his guys on the site building for as long as they could work. His crew was incredibly pleasant and they accommodated every request we made of the work they were doing. We added LED lights and they took care of that. We added pvc piping to fit a railing system and they took care of that as well. The reaction to his work from friends, neighbors and guests has been unanimous awe at the end result. We could not be happier with the end result. I will try to add imagery shortly. I would not hesitate to use them again for any masonry project we may embark on.

The job was to remove the old hot top driveway and install a paver driveway.
