We have now worked with Carlos Castro on two very large projects! His crew is professional! They are clean! Carlos is patient and professional. No issue that Carlos cannot solve! I truly wish I had more stonework projects at our house so we could work with this company again and again. Their work is impeccable. Every tile is thought out and layed to perfection. I truly cannot say enough good things about Castro Stoneworks!

I found Carlos on Houzz late last summer while I was getting estimates from several retaining wall/stone work companies. From the first time we met I knew that he was the one for the job. His estimate was middle of the road compared to others but he was the only person I 'wanted' to work with. He was booked solid for the remainder of the season so we patiently waited for the start of Spring, and we sure are glad we did. Carlos and his crew were AMAZING!! The work officially began late April and continued for a solid 3 1/2 weeks. My 3 man crew was here everyday (that it wasn't raining) from 7:30am - 4:30pm, even Saturdays. They worked hard, were professional, cleaned up each day and were just all around really nice guys. Most importantly they were absolute craftsman. The work they did here is amazing. We get so many compliments; people stop when they're driving by, walking their dogs, etc. We just say "Castro Stoneworks, they're the best!". The man who gave me my driveway paving estimate afterwards said he's never seen stonework this good. Carlos himself was also a pleasure to work with. I was spoiled because we live in the same town, so I got to meet with him almost daily to go over the project and brainstorm any issues that arose due to my somewhat unique property. He was so open to my ideas and I really felt like we had a very nice working relationship. I would recommend Carlos and his guys over & over again without hesitation. I will definitely be using them again myself for a future patio project. Do not look any further; hire this company! FYI, our project consisted of retaining walls with stone facing & bluestone caps, bluestone steps, cobblestone curbing, cobblestone aprons, partial gravel driveway, grading, drainage, partial stone on the face of my foundation, partial slate walk.

Carlos and his crew did a terrific job installing a stone wall around a large irregularly shaped tree bed and new garden wall in my front yard, as well taking care of a few other odd jobs at my home. The work was first rate. Even more impressive was Carlos himself. I’ve hired many contractors over the years, but Carlos stands out as the best of the bunch. He was very responsive, quickly responding to questions, text messages and calls. He made it seem as though you’re his only customer despite the fact that he’s actually quite busy handling many jobs at the same time. He was an absolute pleasure to work with, and I recommend him without any reservation whatsoever.

Carlos and his team were exceptional in their attention to detail . I now have the stone wall in my kitchen that I had always imagined! I wanted an old European look with natural stone. We had used Carlos before for an outside job- beautiful work on our patio/pavers. We had teams of people working on the remodeling of the kitchen. Carlos and his team were so accomadating in working with our schedules. His stone wall is the centerpiece of the kitchen! He is a master at his craftsmanship and he has an eye for creating the vision of his client. He is an artist!

I would give 100 stars if I could. We have been working on this house for many years and many projects. It can be very trying to find contractors that simply call, show up, do what they say and do it well. Carlos is all that and more. He removed and rebuilt a chimney and did it really well, making everything so easy no stress. Everything done and cleaned up in even less time than we thought. I would highly recommend giving him a call.

Just to get it out of the way as early as i can my experience with Castro Stoneworks was exceptional. With that said i met Carlos Castro after another masonry company backed out of the work at my house .I reached out to a friend for a referral and he gave me Carlos's cell phone number and website Once i saw the website i thought no way is this company coming to my house to install an 800 sq feet patio and walkway. His work on his website is very telling about Carlos and his company. His worked is based in the Hamptons mostly. Need i say more. I decided to reach out to Carlos and he showed up at my house on time and dressed in a professional manner. I told him of my thoughts on my walkway and patio and he spoke with me in detail about the work and made me feel very comfortable. I asked Carlos about some ideas I had and we went thru each one. He measured and took his time like this was big job. I was impressed right then. I received a very reasonable quote a few days later in a PDF format in my email. Once i looked t the price i knew i would be using Castro Stoneworks. His prices were on par with the big companies. Carlos told me when he could start the job and its completion. In the mean time he sent me to all County Block to check out the stone color i wanted because Carlos told me its better to see the stone in person .He was right big difference. I settled on Toffee Onyx Lite. The day came for the work and Carlos and his crew were at the house at 7:30 AM. I was greeted by all the workers with a "Good Morning". That was just the start. Carlos walked with me thru the project. He stayed and answered all my questions. One of the best parts of the job was his brother Roy who was the foreman of the crew. He answered my questions s he worked. Roy and his crew installed pop up drains on my walkway that are connected to my gutters so rain would not interfere with the brick. The crew also installed a pipe under my walkway to a small island in front of the house. This is to be used for future lighting or Irrigation. What a great idea. Carlos did all this without extra charge. Carlos was at my house for the five mornings the crew worked on the house. The crew worked from 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM for all the days they were at my house. Carlos ordered the brick and the border from All County Block and it was there on time the first day. when the crew was ready for the concrete again it was there on time with no delays. I cant tell you how important that is to me to have work constantly being done and supplies being on time. The job was completed in the five days he said it would be. I could not be happier with the work, the crew and Carlos himself. If you are doing any type of masonry you have to give Castro Stoneworks a call. Carlos and his crew are very experienced in all phases of brick work. Carlos is a very humble person and easy to speak with. He has multiple crews working different jobs so your work will get done sooner than later. His crew and his brother Roy were extremely pleasant to speak with and did a wonderful job for me. I could not ask for anything more.The compliments i have received on the patio and walkway are so positive. One happy customer. I hired "Castro Stoneworks" to do my backyard patio, price was fair, have all insurance and workers comp. and each of the 4 workers knew exactly what to do and worked as a team. After 2 months of job completed and few heavy rains, job look solid. Carlos recommended a cement base to install the paver stones as well as some stone veneers under the steps and happy with the results. I picked the pavers, gave him my design and happy with the outcome. I highly recommend this contractor for his workmanship and his ability to deliver good results in a timely fashion

So pleased with how our patio turned out. Carlos and his crew were very professional. The work was done timely and they cleaned up after. A few weeks after install we accidently had wood stain fall on our patio. We tried ourselves to get it clean but to no avail. Called Carlos and he came next day with a product to remove the stain. We would highly recommend them.

Carlos was very professional. He came to my home to see what I wanted done and gave me an estimate. The stone I picked out was very tedious to install so the price did go up a few hundred dollars but was nothing extraordinary. Carlos came by every day to check on the job, the workers were very good and cleaned up the area upon completion. My stone fireplace came out beautiful. The stone goes up to my ceiling, it is impressive. Everyone who sees it compliments how it makes the room..

Carlos Castro truly understands, creates, and loves fine stonework. He and his crew are simply amazing! They applied a stone veneer to the foundation and sides of my home by meticulously cutting every small stone generating a perfectly beautiful and natural look. Using bluestone, they also constructed a walkway, front porch, stairs, and 400 square foot patio for my home. Their work required careful demolition, and leveling concrete foundations. Carlos' crews worked every day from 7 AM until dusk, and never left until their work was completed and the site left completely spotless. Carlos visited the site each and every day (sometimes multiple times) to ensure that the work perfectly matched my architectural plans. His team was creative and flexible to fit my needs. I simply can't praise his team any more for their professionalism and respect for my home, family, and pets. I will use and highly recommend Castro Stoneworks for any masonry project.

I found the entire experience of working with Castro Stoneworks as 5-Star. From the proposal stage, where the owner, Carlos, brought my wife and I to look at similar outdoor fireplace projects to get ideas, to the finished project. I found Carlos to be straightforward, fair, honest and trustworthy. He viewed my project like he would a project at his own house. He made us feel comfortable throughout. He was not pushy, and I did not view him as a typical salesperson. In fact, he talked us out of things that would have been more costly. I hired Castro's stone works to stucco the new addition on my house. They had to tie in the new stucco with the existing stucco. This is old world stucco, not the new Styrofoam stuff. They did a beautiful job you cannot tell what is new/ what is old. The owner Carlos was extremely professional, and conscientious to get the finish to match exactly. His employees were extremely hard workers too. They were also punctual and tidy. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!

We had a wonderful experience with Castro Stoneworks. The owner checked the work during the day. His crew was a caring group of masons that took pride in producing a great job. The job kept to the estimated budget. It was done in a very timely manner. All went well.

Our patio is made up of bluestone, brick and stucco over cement to match our house. The patio has a built in bbq and is extremely large covering the length of our house and extending out into the yard 15 feet. Carlos is reliable, an amazing craftsman, has a great “eye” for detail and suggesting materials and is extremely fair. When we made changes to some of the materials he suggested within our budget. The estimates were exactly what the job finished at. Carlos stands behind is work. We had a small crack develop in some of the grout after the job was done. I contacted Carlos and he sent a member of his crew out that week to look at the crack and fix it. His crew left the site neat and clean everyday. And, they kept to the schedule. It was one of the best construction/improvement experiences we have had. Highly recommend.

Carlos and his crew put in a patio for me recently and I was very impressed with the professionalism, the hard work, and the determination the crew showed in dealing with the unusual & frustrating problem I had with the coverings of electrical cables/transformer in my yard. They worked on 2 of the hottest days of the summer so far, in 90+ degree heat! I was also impressed with the clean-up - leaving no trace of the mess; in fact, hosing down not only my area but those of my next door neighbors on each side (I live in a condo complex). Carlos came highly recommended by a friend of mine, and again he and his crew lived up to their reputation. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Carlos and his men just finished building new front steps, a flagstone walkway and refaced our chimney was cultured stone. He listened to what we wanted and helped us to design it. I wanted the chimney on new construction at my home to have a real river rock appearance. I hired Carlos to do the work. He gave me an excellent job at a fair price. Castro Stoneworks removed an old 10ft x 10ft cement patio for me and installed a new beautiful brick 30ft x 40ft patio with a separate 15ft round fire pit section. The workers arrived as scheduled and completed the work in very neat an orderly fashion. If i need future work i would bring them back in an instant.

I have had three separate projects done by Castro Stoneworks over the past couple years. 1. Pool remodel with stone patio; fire pit 2. Two separate retaining walls that had to be emergently replaced. These were 10 feet high and 5 feet high. each about 80 feet long. They came promptly and worked tirelessly to replace our old railroad tile with an indestructible retaining wall to prevent any further 3. Refacing the front of the house with stone; driveway and garage aprons and cobblestone driveway. They are extremely professional. Castro Stoneworks are not just masons - they are Artisans. The work they do is exquisite and always done properly. They start on time; they are extremely neat - I was shocked to see how they cleaned up every evening before leaving. we have referred many friends and from Nassau County to the Hamptons and they have all had the same experience. Carlos (the owner) gives true estimates and is a man of his word! Castro Stoneworks built Stone retaining walls, Bluestone patios around pool and walkways as well as thin stone around the foundation of our house project. I could not ask for a more professional, trustworthy and reliable company. They were instrumental in decision making regarding changes that were made to the original plan and implemented those changes as well as completed the work timely and with impeccable craftsmanship. Carlos Castro was recommended to my husband and me by my brother. Carlos had done stonework for my brother at two of his homes. We called Carlos, scheduled an appointment for a consultation and he arrived at the scheduled time to look at our project. Our project involved the removal of railroad ties, building multi-level stone stairs, multi-level platforms, and retaining walls. Carlos listened to our ideas, then made suggestions, and explained various options, designs and materials. He measured the area, suggested a stone and a stone yard for us to visit to view the stone material. Once we selected the stone, Carlos sent an email with our estimate for the project. Upon our acceptance of the estimate, Carlos scheduled a start date. Carlos had the stone delivered and arrived with his crew at the designated time. We reviewed the project and the men started work. The crew was hard working, skilled, neat, efficient, and pleasant to work with. They were eager to please us, made modifications as needed, and exhibited pride in their work. Our project was completed in the expected time and looks fantastic. The design of the stonework is beautiful and the workmanship is exceptional. The front of our house is enhanced and we admire the work every time we arrive at our home. I learned about Castro Stoneworkks when I passed a project the owner Carlos Castro was working on. I inquired, and had him estimate my pool/patio project. His estimate was the lowest of the 3 I received, and I had seen his work, so I hired him. He did a beautiful job, worked with my wife and I on the design until we had what we liked, then installed about 1,400 square feet of pavers. His work was impeccable. Perfectly even surfaces, properly pitched. The most impressive part was that all radius corners were cut with great care and detail. The work was done on time, and they cleaned up every bit of refuse. When I sold that home 11 years later, not one stone had come loose. I hired Castro Stoneworks again in 2014, with the same fantastic results on a 500 square foot patio. I have since recommended Castro to 2 friends, who have been equally pleased with his workmanship and his prices.
