Northwest Decks, Inc. is a custom deck builder located in Port Orchard, Washington, we are a locally owned and operated small business. We began our journey in 1999 with dreams of owning a small business and have grown into one of the largest deck builders in the area. We can handle most jobs and have worked on projects ranging from large commercial roof top decks to small residential decks. The majority of our business is Trex decking due to the maintenance being much less in our climate but will work with a large range of decking products. We can help with designing your deck, obtaining permits and engineering and the selection of your decking and rail products.. The cost of your deck can vary widely. The type of products used, the size of your deck and the complexity of the build all play a factor in cost as well as the height of the deck, the higher off the ground the more expensive it will be. An average height deck that is 12'x20' using a mid grade composite material, one set of stairs and composite handrail will cost roughly $16,000 plus tax. This includes removal and disposal of a similar sized deck as well.

Entire project: Pre-inspection, owner's plan and conversion to deck layout, materials, schedule, cost estimates and builder's recommendations all excellent - only one design issue that was not clearly illustrated. On time, on budget and excellent workmanship and site daily cleanup. Good documentation of plans and transparency of business performance and licenses of company.

This was the second deck that I hired Northwest Decks to replace. Both decks were replaced with Trex materials. Work quality was excellent. They were responsive to my concerns and adequately addressed all of my questions. Company employees were polite and professional. Project bids were competitive. Northwest Decks repaired/remodeled our existing wood deck. They installed new aluminum railing with glass panels, rebuilt stairs to upper deck using trex decking. Project was started and finished on time. Very professional, excellent workmanship, easy to work with, competitive price no changes to original bid. We would definitely hire Northwest Decks again.

Northwest Decks built our deck in June 2015. The project included design and construction of a new deck to replace an existing 15 year old deck. We replaced a 15 year old wooden deck with a Trex deck. We chose them over 2 other firms because Sherri Meek had the best design ideas and because they are an expert Trex deck installer. They are a small company and summer is their busy season. Sometimes project deadlines are pushed back. Everything was on budget. The quality of the work was excellent. We truly love the deck. Our neighbors were impressed. Over 2 years later, the deck looks as good as when it was completed. My wife and I highly recommend Northwest Decks.

The crew was respectful, flexible, and kind. They took the time to answer questions and communicated challenges as they manifested during the project. The start date was contracted for beginning of August; however, due to delays started later (this is an expected phenomenon in contract projects). Notification of the delay and the new start date would have been helpful to project property specific logistics. I did appreciate that in spite of a miscommunication regarding a gate to corral the dog that the team was flexible and collaborative to add this feature. Overall, it's been a pleasure working with the team. The crew was really the highlight for us, and the deck is amazing.

Project team worked full days every weekday through cold, rain, and snow on ground (but not when snowing). They were thorough, cleared all scrap and leftover materials from site. Foreman even worked into the evening once with a headlamp. Once started, team worked on my project until completion. Project was quoted as three weeks to completion, but took longer, which was not a problem because it was wintertime and we did not need the deck. A passing neighbor even stopped to say how good the deck was looking prior to completion. Deck was re-designed and built to be stronger than original one.

Doug and his crew at Northwest Decks did a fabulous job on our new deck, including buidling and installing an outdoor barbeque. Any problem that came up during the demo of our old deck and build of the new deck they dealt with to my complete satisfation. Their workmanship was excellent and every detail taken care of, real craftsmen! I would highly recommend Northwest Decks for any deck building job.

Northwest Decks were a pleasure to work with from beginning to the end of our job. From the removal of our 500 sq. foot deck to the installation of the new one they handled everything from materials, drawing and obtaining permits to repair work needed to be done to our house. Their employees were outstanding. They were prompt, neat, polite and worked without stopping sometimes in inclement weather. Our Trex Deck and cable railing is the envy of the neighbors.
