Using mrZ Contracting for our "Covid-19" backyard project was nothing short of fabulous. Clayton was honest, involved, easy to communicate with and available throughout the entire process. All estimates, pricing and timelines were updated throughout the project as needed, but all fell in line with what we were told from the beginning. We tackled a huge project that involved excavating truck loads of dirt out of our yard to then build a retaining wall, pour copious amounts of concrete as well as build a wooden pergola. We are planning phases II and III of our dream additions to the backyard and house -- and fully intend on using them in the future.

Like many of you who may be reading and researching for a future project, I went in search of those helpful reviews to find a quality contractor. MRZ Constructions consistent 5-star ratings are what really caught my eye. Having completed many building projects over the years and in multiple locations, it has become important to me to not just grab the cheapest price but to find the contractor who will do what he says in the time frame he promises. Clayton is the man when it comes to design help, details, providing an accurate quote and those all-important updates all along the way. Our covered patio project had to be re-designed a couple of times to deal with a pesky build line restriction but none of that phased Clayton and his team. With each change we were provided with updated renderings and a 3-D video of our project. We used those renderings, pictures, and the video in our submission to our HOA which made the approval process a breeze. We built a rather tall cedar beamed structure with a hip roof and a closed rafter, pitched cedar ceiling. Claytons’ attention to the details like roof lines and soffit materials, made the completed patio appear as if it was built at the same time our home was built. We are more than pleased with the final product. Based on my experience, I am adding my 5-star review to all the others. If you want a great contractor who will communicate and not leave you high and dry, believe the reviews, Clayton and MRZ Contracting have earned them.

We just finished our backyard project with Clayton and team. They helped us all the way through the process from design, quoting and permitting all the way through project planning and completion. They gave regular updates and their finish work was exceptional. I highly recommend this contractor due to their professionalism, craftsmanship and customer service.

His contracts leave nothing to assumption and his "word is his bond". We were very pleased with MRZ Contracting. They can do as much or as little as you need and want to pay for. They will work with you on a plan and a budget until you are totally satisfied. Our yard is beautiful and we are very happy.

Had a leaky pool and the leak was UNDER the concrete walk way surrounding the back side of the pool. Called several contractors and Clayton was by far the most honest, optimistic and committed to the scope of work required. Because there was an obvious "unknown" as to the scope of work the quote was provided in tiers that identified clear thresholds that "if" we have to do this "then" we're into this tier of expense. To my absolute amazement, he did NOT make it to the top tier. That's honesty right there! The quote itself was extremely detailed and allowed us to clearly understand the work, the expense and provided the opportunity to adjust as necessary. Clayton shared he was in the United State Marine Corps which explains the detail provided, honesty and absolutely NO nonsense approach with his crew and/or contractors. Thank you for your service Clayton! During the work Clayton stayed in constant contact keep me informed as what the plans were for the following days, who should be accessing the back yard to work on the project and when the rains came (and the rains did come) he identified in advance when the crew would not be present. Bottom line, 100% satisfaction with MRZ Contracting.

mrZ was very professional, courteous, and honest! Would definitely recommend and use them again. We redid all of the deck around our pool and existing patio, and we added an outdoor kitchen with covered structure. Fantastic!

MRZ contracting built us an outdoor kitchen. They delivered upon what was agreed to in the contract at the price we agreed to. Our project was about two weeks late due to delays. The delays we experienced were worker, mechanical, and weather delays. Of these delays the weather was the biggest part of them. After everything was said and done, we are very happy with our kitchen and it looks excellent. They did a great job!!

Promptness, clear communication, ability to answer questions thoroughly, ease in making phone contact, ability to set and stay on schedule, competent employees and subcontractors, willingness to address and respond to unforeseen emergencies, good workmanship, civility and trustworthiness: These are the qualities I want in a contractor. MrZ contracting hits all those marks and knocks it out of the ballpark. We recommend them without reservation.

Highly recommend! From first contact to handwritten thank-you note after project completion, Clayton, Deborah and their team were unfailingly professional, punctual, responsive, and did great work. They are experts at coordinating all aspects of a project: In our case, that included patio demo and turf removal, tilling and grading, irrigation system modification, new concrete patio install (with turndown beam and t-post piers), and metal fencing. When a few aspects of the project exceeded scope, Clayton immediately informed us of the situation, discussed options on how to proceed, and documented decisions to prevent confusion later. Our backyard is now a showpiece instead of an embarrassment.

We had a fabulous experience with Clayton and his team building our outdoor kitchen and pergola. He and everyone on his team was very professional, kept us up to date and the product was perfect. we look forward to using our space every day! Thank you Clayton!

We started the process of collecting bids in August of 2016, our ability to begin didn't happen until March of 2017. In the meantime, mrZ Contracting kept in touch, not annoyingly, but "Merry Christmas," "we're here when you need us," etc. When we were ready to begin, Clayton was quick to respond to emails and texts, worked with us on the final cost, and promptly delivered everything he said he was going to do, exactly as planned. We started with a hodge podge of slate rock as a border and a jumble of hedges. Sorry no pics available. We now have a beautiful front yard and have received a lot of compliments. Oh, and he and Deb, his assistant, gave us everything we needed for our HOA approval within minutes of requesting certain documents. I wish Clayton did EVERYTHING!
