Jeff Silhan, owner of Custom Deck Builders, came highly recommended to us by Rudy McAdams, the owner of Outdoor Specialties, which is a supplier of top-notch decking materials, located in Maryland. Prior to meeting with Jeff, we had researched and interviewed other builders in our area. However, after our initial meeting with Jeff we knew he was the builder for us! Jeff was well prepared and provided detailed information about his background in the industry as well as his business practices. It was unmistakably apparent that Jeff was extremely knowledgeable and competent in his craft. This was further evidenced from reading prior reviews that he constructed a quality product. The estimate he presented to us was meticulous in detail and scope of project. Jeff’s showroom was nicely displayed and he helped us with choosing the building materials for our dream deck. We ultimately chose Trex. The construction time necessary to complete our project was just as he predicted. The employees are dedicated to their profession and it shows. Our project was fairly large and they kept the construction area clean and neat at all times. The employees worked solidly through the day/five days a week, with the exception of bad weather. Custom Deck Builders also has a No Smoking policy at all job sites. Jason, the foreman for our project, was outstanding and one of the best deck builders in the industry. Our completed deck was much more than we had imagined. The deck was solid and scrupulous in detail. Jeff delivered on every one of his promises and has earned our trust. So much so, we have hired him for another home improvement project. Looking at our completed, beautiful deck, it is apparent how Custom Deck Builders has earned the platinum designation from Trex.

My wife and I first met Jeff in 2007, when he was selected from 3 Trex contractors to build our deck. He arrived on time for the appointment and explained all our decking options after listening to our wants and projected budget. Within a week he gave us various drawings and we ultimately selected one that included plant containers and an octagon seating area. Nine years later the deck still looks great!! Earlier this year, I went back to Custom Deck builders to install front porch railings to replace the wooden set that had rotted away. I have so much confidence in Jeff and his crew, I didn't go through the process of getting multiple estimates.
