We Love Plants - Garden Design by Nic Howard

Nic Howard and his team did a great job planting our extremely steep bank. We are looking forward to seeing the result in all its glory next year.

Nic and his team re-imagined and designed our whole outside space. He transformed it from a barely usable space into something that is beautiful, practical and a joy to be in. The first thing almost everyone says when they come round to our house is what an amazing garden we have and my wife regularly says how it is her favorite part of the house. Nic spent time understanding how we wanted to use the space and designed something that absolutely nailed the brief. Aside from his obvious talent as a designer, Nic was excellent at balancing our wants and ideas but making sure that his design wasn't compromised. There were a couple of suggestions that we weren't 100% sure would work but Nic's experience made us trust he was right and in the end he was proven right. I suppose that's why he's a professional! We continue to use Nic and his team to maintain the garden. His team are highly experienced and very friendly and they keep the garden in immaculate shape. The best review I can give Nic and his team is that we recommend him to all our friends and have now commissioned him to re-design our home interior. Highly recommended.

We had recently refurbished a sizeable home in a 7 acre plot. The garden we inherited was dated and overgrown and required a complete overhaul. Planting such a huge space was an overwhelming task but thankfully we found Nic Howard and the We Love Plants team to help us. Nic discussed the garden as a whole with us and helped us decide upon some key design elements. We then had a variety of large planting areas to fill ranging from formal to informal, loose to structured with all types of aspects to be considered too. Nic has done a wonderful job. We are very impressed and delighted with the results and receive many compliments from all who visit.. The planting is a beautiful mix of colour and shape and maintenance is relatively straightforward. We consider Nic takes an artistic and instinctive approach toward his planting schemes, (backed up by vast knowledge) and this is one of the main reasons we chose him. Once the project was finished, the We Love Plants team remain on hand to answer any questions and to support with maintenance if required.

We love Plants did an excellent job of designing and building our garden. Nic listened to our brief of a family friendly easy to maintain garden, adjusted the design for our budget and delivered beyond expectations. Even taking the time to sit to see where we were overlooked and making tweaks where he felt necessary. They have since continued to maintain our garden to a very high standard. Highly recommend if you want the perfect finish and a designer who listens to you.

We Love Plants have created a stunning garden for us this year from a completely “blank canvas”. They undertook all elements of the project: design as well as hard and soft landscaping including plant selection. Nic is not only an outstanding designer but friendly, approachable, organised and efficient. All members of his team had the same approach and were incredibly hardworking; finishing the work to an extremely high standard. Nic and the team at We Love Plants designed and built a beautiful garden for us that has brought us great pleasure. The installation team were very courteous and pleasant and it was amazing to see the transformation. We have enjoyed maintaining our lovely new garden but have also asked for help with tidying and mulching from We Love Plants annually. Nic is a truly talented designer and plantsman. In order to achieve excellent client outcomes, a company needs to truly listen to what the client wants and inspires them, sometimes they need help with this (!) and then encourage the client to push their own boundaries to explore a different approach which may well be outside their comfort zone. This journey requires trust and honesty. I am fortunate enough to have a garden designer as a son. Yes Nic Howard is my son. BUT, hand on heart, his dedication to detail, his brilliant vision and inspiration is second to none. Nic has designed and built a few gardens for me now, as well as designing alterations and plans for my homes. I am both very fortunate and exceptionally proud, and when speaking to his other clients whose gardens he has created, their sentiments echo mine. Always very friendly and helpful and they look after our garden with great care, they also carry out all major renovation and building works in our garden when required. We go back 7-8 years now and have a really good relationship!!

Nick and his team completely re-designed our large garden, which involved taking out all the plants, digging out the beds and borders, replacing old, and building new, walls and retaining structures, and improving the soil with mulch etc. They then replanted everywhere with a mixture of plants, shrubs and grasses, which created a most amazing and beautiful new garden for us! Nick is a consummate professional with a very wide knowledge, and enthusiasm for his work. He, and those who work with him, are friendly and hard working and never fail to offer advice when asked. We have had further excellent garden maintenance and planting done since the original job, which is a service Nick is happy to offer if required.
