Tom Howard Garden Design and Landscaping

It was an absolute pleasure working with Tom and his team and I can’t recommend him enough. Having recently completed a gut renovation of our house we engaged Tom to transform our small backyard and I’m so glad we did. The results are simply incredible. From initial consultation to design and build, Tom was a great communicator and project manager which led to the only no stress project of our build. The work was done to an incredibly high standard, on time and on budget which seems to be a rarity these days. His ideas have both maximized our space with a clever hidden shed and created a second living area for us with the most amazing wood work and seating. I can’t stop staring at it. I’m not sure if/when we will have another garden to do but wouldn’t hesitate to work with him again and you should too. Thanks Tom!

We approached a number of garden designers before meeting Tom Howard, and from the outset his professionalism, eye for detail and design were just exceptional, and he stood head and shoulders above the rest. From this first meeting, throughout the creative design process and complex building work on a sloped site, the whole experience of working with Tom and his team has been been nothing short of outstanding, and importantly to us- stress free! Tom is an excellent communicator, problem solver and project manager, and the his whole approach to our project was completely refreshing. I would recommend Tom and his team without hesitation. From my initial telephone call all the way through to completion of the project, Tom was unfailingly professional and inspired me with confidence. The design phase in particular - building on a few ideas thrown around during Tom’s initial visit - was also a lot of fun! In true collaborative fashion, Tom’s experience and eye for the detail honed my loose vision for everything I wanted the garden to contain into a beautiful design that fitted together the different elements perfectly. Despite lockdowns, challenging weather conditions and nationwide shortages of materials and appliances, Tom and his hard-working team (together with additional contractors - all of whom Tom organises) completed the project on schedule and to budget. One of Tom’s strengths is his communication skills. I was always kept fully informed of timescales and costs so there was never any chance of unwelcome surprises. We now have the multi-functional outdoor space that we’ve long been talking about. It is a joy to be in (and to look at) and has added a whole new dimension to our living space. I’m thrilled that we found Tom who was able to bring the dream to reality.

Tom did a wonderful job designing and building our garden. Not only is Tom highly professional, he has excellent design aesthetic and is generally a very nice person to deal with. Importantly, he keeps his team to the very high standard and it translates into well above average execution quality. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome!

We were fortunate enough to have seen Tom’s work in our neighbours garden and knew immediately that we wanted to work with him. From the very beginning Tom carefully considered our thoughts and ideas when producing designs and was always willing to discuss each idea in detail. Tom is a great communicator and extremely knowledgable about plants, materials, colours etc. So this gave us a lot of confidence in his suggestions and recommendations. We would thoroughly recommend using Tom Howard for your garden project. We did a complete revamp, essentially starting with a blank canvas. The process to agree the design was excellent, with Tom providing 3 alternatives and then we mixed and matched to come up with the final design. He incorporated our input so we ended with a design we are really happy with. We also wanted a pergola and Tom did a lot of research to find the right design and company to supply it (Garden Design - Renson canopy). The entire garden installation went smoothly and on time. Tom dealt very well with any questions along the way - given the initial design process is so thorough there really are no surprises. His team of contractors were all excellent to deal with so the whole process was straightforward and enjoyable. Watching his plans come to life was very exciting. We are now thoroughly enjoying our new garden and are thrilled with both how it looks and functions - great job thanks very much Tom and team.

Tom's service was fantastic from start (design) to completion of the works. The design was professional and hardly required any amendments because Tom clearly understood what we were trying to achieve and pretty much got it right the first time around. The 2D and 3D render/designs were very helpful to visualise. The work itself completed without a hitch. Tom was flexible with some additional work and also liaised with other contractors (our builders) plus recommended (and liaised with) others (outdoor kitchen, railings) and recommended some good places to look for materials. His communications were also very clear and professional and he was very responsive - all of which go a long way in this business. We would happily recommend him to others.

Tom and his team did a fantastic job for the small garden space that we had. Tom conceptualised the space and was able to to incorporate so many details in the garden design that we were amazed. He also implemented the design impeccably. Having had experiences with other building contractors, we can safely say we have not seen such a professional team. Everything was well planned, there were no glitches. The project was delivered well on time and within the budget that Tom had indicated. The first day of the project it was snowing but that did not deter the team. They worked ceaselessly for 5 weeks. Andrei the main work man was superb. Tom and his team's attention to detail was amazing. Every small nook was taken care of. For our very small garden Tom's design is thoughtful and combines the various elements that we wanted including a 130kg statue. We cant recommend him enough.

Tom and his team are exceptional - both in terms of design and construction! Tom designed a truly fantastic garden that was perfect for the layout and available space. His ability to design to the space and integrate colors and structures is world class. Moreover, his construction team members are top notch. His team have years of experience and are always professional and courteous. Finally Tom brings a personal touch. He works closely with you to address any concerns you may have, responds quickly to questions, and is overall very positive. I would strongly recommend Tom if you want to really transform your garden into something exceptional.

Tom has been an absolute delight to work with. We were so impressed with his collaborative approach and his patience in guiding us through the garden design especially when we had a few strong ideas to accommodate. Tom was extremely thoughtful and gave us excellent direction and his attention to detail and knowledge was so helpful. Tom conceptualised and went through a series of iterative designs until we landed on "the one" . He was always appreciative of the back and forth between us and we valued his input, and willingness to listen and incorporate our thoughts. Throughout the planning Tom was on hand to answer questions and give guidance on plant selections especially regarding a number of important trees we were placing. He routinely kept us up to date on timings and the actual implementation and creation of the garden went very smoothly indeed. His team were excellent - great workers and a pleasure to have around the site. Tom was on site frequently and personally drove attention to details many others would let pass. We are absolutely thrilled with the results and have since then appreciated Tom's skills in ensuring the garden is constantly providing new delights during the year .
