Borum, Wade and Assiciates has been the primary Site Engineering and Surveying Company for Piedmont Personal Builders, LLC for 18 years, since our inception. They prepare all of our site plans and do all of our job stake outs, and their charges are always reasonable. They are knowledgeable about local governmental agencies and are a great resource in solving problems or in addressing unique situations.And their staff is competent, cheerful, and easy to deal with. I have been working with Borum Wade as both civil engineers and landscape architects for five years. Our architectural firm does fast paced work with tight budgets and timelines. I hired Tim Knowles of Borum Wade to re-design the gardens at Powell Manor. He drew on the existing elements which had already been passed through Special Use Re-Zoning for the City of Burlington, and then improved the aesthetic underpinnings. I was very pleased with the basic revision of concept, and then all the steps through implementation. We made extensive use of the 10 layers of CAD drawings that were developed. I was surprised by how quickly Tim was able to incorporate all the detail that was necessary. Now, we are enjoying the gardens which may be viewed at www.powellmanor.com. We are continuing to make changes and improvements, and I suppose this 4 acre garden will be a work-in-progress for some period of time. Of course, we would not be doing all this if we didn't love it. I enjoy seeing the reaction from visitors when they walk through the gate and catch their breath as they see the panorama for the first time. I do appreciate the collaborative effort from Tim Knowles that set all of this in motion.

My wife and I utilized Tim Knowles expertise in selecting a lot for our house in the Uwharrie mountains. One of the properties we considered had a storm culvert running under the road directly into the lot. Tim said we could make lemonade out of lemons in building a dry creek, using existing boulders and stone. We now have our own private stream and waterfalls when it rains. In compliance with local codes he helped us position our house for the best view with an appealing access from the road. We now live in an enviable retreat in part because of Tim's expertise in landscape architecture and lighting. Tim has the versatility to create the style and atmosphere a client desires in any setting.

My wife and I were very pleased with the landscape design for our mountain home from Borum, Wade and Associates. They listened to our needs and requirements and put together a plan that fulfilled all our expectations. We were very happy with the variety and choice of plants. The placement created good flow and took in consideration long term growth. It was truely visionary. Project Arichitect, Tim Knowles, was very knowledgeable about plants and fitting them into our topography to create a aesthetically pleasing and natural enviroment. He was very easy to work with and incorporated our ideas into the finished product. Best of all they came in on budget with no surprises. I would highly recommend the firm.

My husband and I were in the process of finalizing building plans for our new home which is situated on a gorgeous lake. The topography of the lot was very challenging and because we were building a one story home with a basement we wanted to make sure that the house did not sit in a "gulley". We hired Borum, Wade & Associates to ensure, from an engineering standpoint, that the appropriate amount of fill dirt was brought in to allow us the ability to have 10' ceilings in the lower level as well as main level of the home. At the same time, we had their Landscape Architect draw a rendering of the house on the lot, with decks and patios and an in ground pool. Working with a sloping lot is quite challenging, however once they were finished with our plan and now that the house is complete, we couldn't be more happy. We are so thankful that we found Borum, Wade & Associates to help make our lot and home as spectacular as it has turned out to be. Would highly recommend them for engineering needs and landscape design.
