You can judge for yourself. I hired them based on their five star reviews but received 2 star service. I made countless attempts to address this with them directly. I’m sorry to be writing this. I wanted nothing more than to be satisfied with my project and service.

We were very pleased to work with the garden artist - they were very approachable and accommodating. The design really matched our wants but also surpassed our expectations. The whole process was stress free and easy.

They are Garden Artists! Becca and Terry are incredible landscape designers. Becca listened carefully to me and created a magical landscape. She provided draft plans we reviewed together several times, took different design elements and combined them into my final plan. The Garden Artist submitted the design to my HOA, walked the site with the architectural committee and answered questions to receive approval. My project included massive earth moving with challenging access, heated paver driveway, paver patio, retaining walls, safety railings, boulders, steps, irrigation, pots with drip systems and drainage, creek pump, natural grasses, sod, flowers, shrubs and trees. Much of my project is in a riparian habitat with strict local, state and HOA requirements. My landscaping is gorgeous and looks like it has always been there. Originally, I hired The Garden Artist to design my front, side and back yard spaces and went to bid for a company to execute the plan. The Garden Artist submitted a competitive landscaping bid which I’m so happy I accepted! Their landscapers were fabulous; talented, professional, respectful and hardworking. I needed to leave town for several weeks and am grateful for their professional project management in my absence. My project was delivered on time, on budget and even more beautiful than I imagined. They are so wonderful I wish I had more spaces to landscape. My backyard is my happy place thanks to The Garden Artist!

Terry created a unique, captivating design to transform our backyard. She and her team have been a joy to work with and have been very open to ideas, which they take and turn into something spectacular. We are quite excited to to get started and will be doing the work in phases.

We selected The Garden Artist to develop a landscape plan for our new home in the spring of 2018. They developed a wonderful design that transformed the as built plan with creative plantings, shade structure, water feature, and hardscape. The challenge involved a lap pool and modifying significant amounts of concrete. The quality of work and follow up was excellent. Terry made a beautiful design for our front yard roundabout and for our backyard that centered around a new pool. The roundabout used to house a monstrosity of a water feature that didn't add anything to the curb appeal of the home, but now there is a gorgeous "secret" English garden with a custom wrought iron trellis. I love being able to look out my front windows and see the beautiful space. The backyard design includes an attached pergola, patio extension, and reshaping of the existing sea of concrete by cutting it into a more pleasing shape. Our home is in an area that is very exposed to the elements with lots of sun and wind, but all of our plants were chosen carefully and are doing well. The Garden Artist did not build our pool, but Terry did design it, putting in a wonderful sunning shelf we never would have thought of, but use all the time. Whenever there was a concern or question, Terry or Avery responded quickly to make sure it was taken care of. We have gotten lots of good use out of our new space, thank you :)

My wife and I are building our dream home in Eagle. We decided to look for a landscape architect because when we landscaped our last home we didn’t start with a cohesive plan to account for future needs. The end result was kind of “hodge-podge” but ultimately turned out nice. We also spent thousands more than if we had hired a landscape architect to design and guide us through our landscaping. We’ve found who we’re confident will guide us through our landscaping project in Teri. Her expertise is evident in the design of our new landscaping project. She went out of her way to take in to account our desires for our project and really “hit it out of the park” on our design. Although the project is just getting started, we’re excited and can’t wait to see the finished project. Teri is super easy to work with and works very well with contractors.

Terry created a beautiful design for our 5 acre property including all grading and irrigation needs, trees, bushes and hardscape. She listened to our ideas, our likes and dislikes, our budget constraints and created a plan that was diverse and worked perfectly in our setting. First off, Terry is just a wonderful person. She is very kind and entheusiastic and always seems to have plenty of time even though we know her schedule is hopping. Terry has created two absolutely beautiful outdoor living spaces for me. The most recent project she worked on involved moving our hot tub to a different location and building a beautiful surround wall. We also knocked out our concrete patio and replaced it with pavers. In addition to that she designed a beautiful fire pit space with a fire pit that is created from a boulder that uses natural gas (which was piped in) and custom designed built-in benches. Additional trees and shrubs were planted for beauty and privacy. Lastly, we installed a partially covered patio with sun-lights outside our back door. We love to entertain and be outdoors when the weather is nice. Our new outdoor living space is perfect for a casual evening outside, or for entertaining 10-15 people comfortably. We have plenty of seating and space and the fire pit provides great ambiance! We really love it! I would highly recommend Terry/The Garden Artist if you are looking to create something beautiful, unique and custom designed just for you.

Terry had some great ideas for the project. She was energetic, enthusiastic and knowledgeable and was good to work with throughout the process. Overall, we are very happy with how everything turned out.

Terry has been and still is the absolute best contractor I have ever worked with on a project. She absolutely owns every aspect of the project from design, demolition, rebuild, and finish. We are going into our third growing season since our project and I know that I can count on Terry to be here this spring for a walk through inspection. We hired Terry Sims at the Garden Artist to design a new backyard sanctuary for us. We ripped out our existing concrete patio and widened and lengthened the space. Terry helped us create separate living spaces with a retaining wall, a gas fireplace, an elevated sitting space, and beautiful landscaping. The Garden Artist helped us work within our budget, with different phases in the project. Phase 1 was accomplished this fall, with phase 2 to come in the spring. I love the design and her attention to detail. Terry really listened to my likes and dislikes and implemented my wishes within the architectural plan.

Terry is extremely creative with a meticulous eye for detail. She, along with her professional team, were able to transform my basic yard ideas into an outdoor living space that exceed my expectations. Terry never tired of drawing up different proposals which evolved into the perfect plan. Because of the location of my home, there were many applications for approval from both city and historic building commissions. She took care of everything! Whatever the challenge, Terry made it happen. Her concepts and resourcefullness saved both time and money. I engaged The Garden Artist to design and install all components of re-landscaping my front, side and back yards at my residence in SE Boise. I live on a corner lot, so much planning and coordination for the entire process was involved from start to finish. This project involved on-going consultation and input between myself and Terry (and her assistant) - in person, by email and phone contact - to bring this plan to fruition. Terry and I spent many hours collaboratively researching hardy plants for our climate to create a pleasing mix of plant growth habits (including a balance between deciduous and non-deciduous varieties), foliage color, blooming seasons and visually interesting combinations that would fully meet my expectations of what I envisioned for this project. In addition to these design requirements, Terry also worked with me to satisfy the need for more privacy in my back areas as an integral part of her overall design. In addition to removing 30-year old very 'tired' shrubs on my property and installing new plants, this 're-do' involved new hardscape features, burying downspout drains, and re-configuring my watering system. I have been impressed by Terry's vision, artistic talent, design skills and her knowledge about plants and their growth habits and care requirements. She demonstrates an obvious commitment to not only creating unique garden spaces, but fulfilling as many as her customers' fondest wishes as possible. I have received many compliments from neighbors and visitors to my home since the completion of re-landscaping my residence.

I knew I wanted the redo my back yard but with the odd shape wasn't sure what it could look like. Terry took the time to ask questions and listen to what I wanted and created a beautiful retreat and oasis. The design matched my personality including low maintenance. My ponds was leaking from a previous installer. The Garden Artist had to rebuild it and bring in some nicer stone. I enjoy my pond and I can tell this pond will not leak because it is done correct.

Designed and built a large water feature in our back yard. Terry Sims, owner of TGA, provided timely and complete designs, estimates and timelines. All work was performed by knowledgable trades. Terry stayed close to the project from beginning to end. We encountered some issues that were not anticipated. Terry identified and solved the them timely. While Terry has a reasonably nice aesthetic sense for plants the outdoor kitchen built for us has been poor from the beginning. The edge treatment fell off the first year. The tile surface has been broken since the 2nd year. The stone tile wrapping the kitchen has been falling off for the past few years and half of it is off now. The caulk used on the access doors stained the doors and the concrete patio. We spent thousands and will simply pull the thing out after about 6 years. Over promise. Under deliver. In well over her head. I recommend you use some one else

Terry Sims as well as all her subcontractors were fabulous to work with. We worked with Terry from afar as we live in Cali-fornia at this time and she was working on a home we pur-chased in Idaho that needed a huge backyard landscape. She was always very responsive to email and phone calls and sending us the plans. The plan she came up with was so over the top fantastic. She listened to all our input regarding plants we loved, budget, and long term goals for the yard. She also did not hesitate to let us know what plants we should stay away from and offered ideas of substitution plants that would be a better choice. Her final plan to give us the privacy we were looking for, without our fence looking like a fortress of trees, was so beyond anything we could have asked for. It was like nothing we had seen when driving through the area looking for ideas. She created a park like setting throughout our en-tire yard. The waterfall she designed and implemented is worth every dollar t he yard cost us to re-landscape. Terry not only gave us the yard of our dreams but also kept in mind that we were cost conscious and that we were so far away. When we were looking at cutting costs she really edu-cated us on what we could do during a second phase, how we could use a different material, and what would be foolish to cut out. On her own she would send us updates via email and video so we could view how the yard was changing. When we were able to finally see the yard completed in May, after working with her since February, we were so pleased with the detail she put into the whole yard. She completed it on time just as we arrived from Califor-nia for a visit. Even though the project has been completed Terry has continued to answer our emails, visit the yard to check up on open issues, and support any concerns we have had since our last visit in October.
