During the Covid19 pandemic LandCurrent is working remotely to bring our clients high quality, artful landscape design solutions. Learn more by reading our blog on our website: www.landcurrent.com Working from Oregon we have been creating outstanding landscapes all over the Pacific-Northwest for more than ten years. Our principal landscape architect, Anita Van Asperdt, is originally from the Netherlands. She is a regularly invited critic and educator for several university design programs. Catherine “Kitty” Davis is our local North-West landscape designer, she brings a strong horticultural background to LandCurrent. Together we create designs that blend a Dutch clarity of expression with a local palette of materials and plants. LandCurrent landscapes are contemporary or modern in feel while rooted in a strong environmental understanding. Projects can be of any size from the smallest backyard to large estates. What counts is the creative process and attention to detail. LandCurrent’s design solutions have won praise from the general public as well as from colleagues.

Anita Van Asperdt joined our project team quite early in the design process. She brought great insight and creative genius to help us fit the house to an exceptionally difficult site that required unusually large retaining walls, numerous stairs and planting clusters, and a large variety of site materials and drought-resistant vegetation. The clients and the architects had the highest aesthetic expectations for this highly custom house. Anita's contribution to this goal was invaluable. She is very professional, yet easy to work with, has a keen eye for aesthetics and great respect for the architecture of the building. I recommend her most highly.

LandCurrent's knowledge about modern and environmentally friendly design are fantastic! They designed a beautiful plan for our yard that was truly unique and reflected our taste. We did exceed our initial budget more than we expected, that part the project was a huge learning process for us.

We have hired LandCurrent on 3-separte occasions to provide landscape designs for our contemporary home which is located in a rural setting. On each occasion LandCurrent produced imaginative and practical designs which have gained the admiration of ourselves as well as many friends and family members who have visited with us. One design included a regulation sized Court for the French game of Petanque which LandCurrent integrated into our hillside setting with exceptional skill and aesthetics.

We worked with Anita on the design of our backyard when we lived in Portland. We owned a lovely Modern in the hills and forests of the West Side. Our backyard, like many in the neighborhood, was a steep incline covered in ivy. While it was lush, it was unusable for our children. We worked closely with Anita to design an entirely new experience for our yard. We created terraces in the yard for play space, featuring a slide, a treehouse and various rock and climbing features. Our children loved it; it was a lovely way to be immersed in the forest, and the design's clean lines worked well with our home. The invisible features of the yard are as impressive as the visible. Underneath the Ipe deck and terraces is a robust and overengineered drainage system which kept the yard dry and playable year round, in spite of the ever present rainfall in Portland. We were extremely proud of the design of the yard and hosted many playdates and parties – we will miss this space.

I hired LandCurrent for two different jobs- one big and one small. I was impressed with the way they handled tricky design challenges on both projects. They were both very creative and sensitive to my budget needs. I always recommend LandCurrent to my friends who are redesigning their decks, outdoor spaces or gardens and need creative professional help.

Comentado: Cost of the materials for the wall and planterCarol, this was part of a very large residential project, the cost for the wall and the planter were not separated out. Plants: Giant Horsetail and Crocosmia. Holes were formed with foam.

Comentado: Would you mind sharing the body color and species of wood siding?Greg, we designed the landscape not the building so I don't really know what the wood is. The architect is Arbor South in Eugene Oregon, give them a call and I am sure they be happy to talk to you.

Comentado: Love the concrete color!This concrete does not have color added, it is the finish that gives it color. The finish is called sand finish.
