JR's Creative Landscaping

This is a review a decade in the making. JR's did the original landscaping for our new construction home in Wheaton back in 2005. It was extensive and included a lot of trees and shrubs and a huge patio uni-lock hardscape with firepit, as well as huge front walk uni-lock hardscape walkway. Some readers may remember that the summer of 2005 was very hot, and we had a significant drought. Not ONE plant died. Realistically I expected at least some loss, but not one. I guess it did not matter because the owner Jim Rose told me he would stand by any of his plants for the 12 months and all his hardscape work permanently. Over the years JR's work blossomed and our outdoors look great. Many neighbors would mark our home as the 'house with the great landscaping'. Fast forward to 2015 and as I expected there was significant settling around the foundation of our 2004-2005 built house. That settling caused JR's patio and front walk to collapse in several places. Finally this spring I decided to get quotes on repair (that really means rebuild); all quotes came in multiple 4 figures. I remembered what Jim Rose had told me back in 2005, but frankly my expectations were low when I decided to call JR's. Not only did Jim stand by his word and rebuild ALL our brickwork for free - he did it immediately (crew was at our house within 10 days) and with the same quality as the original 2005 work. As a small business owner myself I can not express how impressed I am with this organization. Ultra high quality and work they stand behind. With proof.

Initially daunting . But with Jim' reassurance and expertise well worth the time and money. It's amazing how we still just stare and marvel at how much we just love our patio! Even a year later! We had JR's put in a new patio hardscape and plantings, rebuild a portion of our deck to accommodate a hot tub, and build a gas firepit. We have been extremely pleased with the end result and so far where there have been issues (and they have been minor) he has gotten his team out to resolve them very quickly. He is more expensive than many of the other providers in the area but you can see the care and expertise in the final product. I would absolutely recommend them and will use them again in the future if I have other outdoor projects.

After purchasing a sizable hot therapy/swim spa for our backyard, we brought in JR's Creative Landscaping to transform our backyard into an extensive outdoor living space. What a stunning and highly useful space we received! During the bid process, Jim Rose presented us with such a creative and beautiful plan to use our spa with pergolas, water features, a dining and entertainment area, and low voltage lighting. He was involved in all aspects of the extensive project, had wonderful attention to detail, and always got back to us promptly if we had questions. His crews were incredibly courteous, knowledgeable, and hardworking. The landscape design just added even more beauty to the backyard. The water features are absolutely breathtaking and cleverly blend so well with the "aqua" theme of the spa. I also cannot say enough about the low voltage lighting as well. The placement and choice of all of the lighting has given us a tremendous benefit -- we have been able to be outdoors and use our spa even in the harshest winter conditions. Nighttime is our favorite time to be in our backyard, no matter what month it is. We've worked with several lighting contractors in the past and none of them were able to achieve just the right amount of light to enhance the backyard the way JR's Landscaping has done.

I called JR's Creative Landscaping after seeing a friend's gorgeous front yard. Jim, the owner, returned my phone call very promptly and was very professional when he came to view our property. His ideas were extremely creative, well thought out, and reasonable. Jim was also terrific to work with in both getting our thoughts and ideas incorporated into his design and also in working within time constraints. We could not have asked for a better contractor. While we chose not to do the work on our house when we originally planned, we would call Jim, in a heart beat, to complete our project.

A very professional job with great designs and options on your various needs. Very detail orientated and a very knowledgeable crew and can provide you ideas about plants and planting designs. I will definetly use him in the future.

JR's Creative Landscaping designed and constructed our back patio, complete with Pavilion, Pergola, and Grill area with low voltage lighting. Jim Rose (owner) provided us with customized options, and quality materials. The work team was courteous and friendly. JIm kept in contact with us throughout the entire project. We are thrilled with the outcome and will use the new space for many years to come!
