Doug Lockwood- Professional landscape designer in Williamsburg, Virginia, USA (zone 8A/B) since 1987. I design patios & terraces, outdoor kitchens & fireplaces, putting greens & bunkers, outdoor lighting and water & flower gardens. Although I live in zone 8A/8B & specialize in southeast & gulf state plantings, I am knowledgeable about the planting requirements for most zones & can design specifically for your climate. I enjoy designing in different styles & have won many state, regional & national awards. A highlight in 1999 was winning co- Best in Show at the Maymont Flower Show with Marney Hall, whose floral talents won her a gold medal at the 1998 Chelsea Flower Show in England. Additionally, I had my design work featured on HGTV.com , in national paver brochures and on television in national television commercials. I am a huge fan of the work of Thomas Church, Gertrude Jekyll, Wolfgang Oehme, Roberto Burle Marx and Frank Lloyd Wright. Their influences can be seen in many of my designs. I also love the perennial design work of Andre Viette & Beth Chatto. I now offer landscape designs & videos for the types of projects shown, but not installation services.
