Belsize Gardens

Not the happiest customer and clearly it’s an anomaly. We had a back patio built and some planting. The patio was not finished to the spec we had anticipated before the business moved to Bristol and remains unfinished. The platform is there , and lovely , but it’s all open underneath and looks incomplete. Also, a tree fern that we already owned was positioned elsewhere in the garden and failed to thrive . He said he would replace it if it didn’t come back the next year. It didn’t and it was never replaced. A bit of a bummer but not the end of the world. On the plus side the job was completed very quickly and professionally and I think we perhaps just got unlucky with timing of his move. Lovely planting scheme too.

Miles and his team worked tirelessly to transform our small garden (8mx6m) from a bland box to a beautiful oasis that we love looking out onto during winter and entertaining in now that the spring has arrived. He was proactive in finding solutions that were budget friendly yet high impact. I would recommend him without hesitation.

Miles completely redid my garden in 2021, it went from a very bland decked space to a beautiful urban jungle. I told miles vaguely what I wanted and he was able to transform that into reality. I would always recommend to all my friends and family if they needed any landscaping/gardening!

Honestly couldn't be happier. From concept to execution Miles and the lads were amazing. A great combination of listening to what we like and wanted and then tailoring that with their own advice and expertise. The result is more than we could have expected from the space. Miles was very professional, very efficient, communicated really well, and thoroughly understood the brief. After hearing our descriptions and seeing some examples of what we wanted, he came back with an excellent design, making really useful suggestions along the way. Then he built it, finishing ahead of time and within budget. He also selected all the plants that fit the garden exceptionally well and always get compliments. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend his services. He's also a very nice guy.

The Belsize Gardens team transformed our garden from a place we hated being in to a place our family spends hours in every day. We bought our house and inherited a huge ugly shed, a derelict lawn and beds of half dead rose bushes and weeds. Miles worked with me to create a space with both visual interest throughout the year and give us a place to play and relax together as a family. He brought some really creative ideas to the discussion, he was careful of the budget and the team was professional while on site. The plantings are low maintenance, wildlife friendly and modern. Our garden is the envy of all the neighbours now and most importantly a place we love to be in.

Miles and Belsize Gardens successfully landscaped an area of overgrown lawn at our tennis club, which included levelling the turf, installing a decking and providing a planting scheme to enhance both the appearance and function of the space. The works were completed to a high standard and have received positive comments from our Club members and visitors alike. Miles has also installed a cortex retaining wall and brick mowing strip to different areas of the Club, both of which were similarly well done.

Miles helped us to realise our vision to transform a plain back garden into a beautiful Japanese-inspired multi-purpose space. He listened to all our requirements and requests and was able to cleverly incorporate them all in his design. The final design was brilliant, and made our vision become a reality.

When we decided that our back garden required a total make over we selected Belsize Gardens to undertake the work after we had been recommended the firm by a friend. Miles was extremely helpful in coming up with suggestions and practical ideas that we hadn't considered. He then converted those into a detailed design that included stone work, electrics and landscaping. Once work started, work was managed effectively, to budgeted cost and undertaken to a high standard. All in all, my wife and I are delighted with the end product.

I cannot recommend Belisize Gardens enough. Miles took our crazy paved garden and turned it into an oasis in the city! He listened to all our requirements and guided us perfectly. His design was innovative and exciting as well as practical. He explained his choices of plants and provided excellent advice for caring of them. Miles, from Belsize Gardens helped us to transform an overgrown garden into an outdoor living space that is an extension of our home. After meeting with us to discuss our wants and needs for the space he came back with a design that was bang on and only required minor adjustments once the build began. The garden incorporates a BBQ and dining space, a seating area with a fire pit, a water feature, green wall and a studio (build completed by another company).

I hired Belsize Gardens to create a new design for our large, overgrown garden in SE London. After a holiday in Croatia, we saw our ideal garden and sent Miles some pictures for inspiration. We wanted something modern with a Mediterranean twist, a polished concrete barbecue area, a covered deck and patio, as well as a unique selection of easy-to-maintain plants, and a lawn! Miles worked with us for a couple of weeks on the design, asking us lots of questions and giving us advice on plants and positioning. The final design was absolutely beautiful, even better than we'd hoped. After the design was complete, we hired Miles and his team to come and do the landscaping work. His quote was very competitive and he could source some really beautiful materials that my builder would have struggled with (e.g.: larch, which we used for the fencing). The project took three months and was completed to deadline and to budget. I was impressed with Miles and his team; they were professional, friendly and polite. The quality of the work was excellent. I could trust them to get on with the job whilst I concentrated on my kitchen renovation, which was happening at the same time as the garden. Miles was in constant conversation with us to make sure we were happy and his expertise helped us choose the best materials. He was also able to work within our budget efficiently. I would not hesitate to recommend Belsize Gardens for a garden design or landscaping project. Our garden is absolutely beautiful; we are so happy with it and enjoy it every single day.

I don’t believe you could have a nicer person working on a remake of your garden. We talked about what I wanted and Miles adapted his original design to take into account things I wanted. The work involved terracing the garden, creating a brick path, extending a raised bed with sleepers, and building a low wall supporting a pond and steps. He also built a garden room with folding doors at the back of the garden. Work was done on time and to a high standard.

Miles and team did a superb job converting our dull terrace garden into a truly unique space that has transformed our property. Our garden was the last stage in our house renovation and undoubtedly the part that has given us the most joy. Miles was brilliant in the design stage, understanding how our family wanted to use the garden and designing a space that is practical for my young family, easy to maintain but aesthetically has the wow factor! He has added a number of unique design features that make a great use of our space and look amazing. The project came in on budget and on time.
