ADRIAN SMITH Landscape Architecture & Design, is a full service landscape architecture firm founded upon the belief that landscapes need to create a meaningful connection between people and nature. The firm’s founder, Adrian Smith, grew to cherish the rural landscape of his hometown in Western New York and learned to appreciate the simple order of the agricultural landscape juxtaposed with the wildness of native lands. Building on that idea, our current work seeks to find a balance between the uniformity of the cultivated landscape and the diversity of the natural landscape, all the while infusing the design with unique significance. We love to collaborate. We place a great deal of emphasis on the importance of getting to know our clients and we value their input throughout the design and construction process. Our success stems from our ability to establish and nurture long-lasting relationships with our clients, contractors and fellow professionals. We also know that with a garden, maintenance and management of the site is equally as important as the design. To that end, we work with our clients to establish a comprehensive regimen for the long-term care and viability of their properties. We are equally at home with small and large scale projects - knowing that good design is important no matter the scale. We are also comfortable working in urban, suburban and rural settings. We have experience creating both vast meadows and technically sound roof gardens.
