Ordered an entertainment unit/bookshelves from them. The order was made in July 2016 and was supposed to be delivered in October 2016. While the unit was initially delivered in October 2016, its panel was not the correct size and required 4 additional visits and 3 months to complete. To be fair to them a lot of the faults lies with Team 7 who did not supply the correct order in the first place and was also incompetent in providing the correct replacements (panel was too tall, and their replacement was even taller than the first one) so they had to alter the panel themselves. Nevertheless it is extremely worrying that they failed to communicate clearly with their supplier, especially when the project is not for some off-the-shelve furniture but a bespoke one.
The many visits resulted in the unit being taken apart and put back together multiple times. This along with one of the delivery guy's shaky hands with a power tool left marks on the unit. Thus, whilst the bookshelves/entertainment unit seems sturdy enough, I don't think it is worth its price tag, especially not considering the extra three months I had to have the incomplete unit sitting in my living-room being completely useless.
Their customer service was rather hit and miss. The salesmen I saw in person were helpful. They were active in contacting me about changes when finalizing the design of the unit, but were more passive in giving me updates after the initial delivery (often meant I had to contact them the day after when they were supposed to have contact me). Lastly, when the order was finally completed I was told that due to the experience with this order they would consider giving me a discount on a future order. I found it rather insulting that they would imagine I'd want to purchase anything else form them after this mess.

Wharfside have supplied 230 solid wood luxury Skovby dining chairs for two high end restaurant sites within our group. They have also supplied dining, kitchen and bedroom furniture, much of it from the amazing Team 7 range, to my own home. Service from Jonathan and his team has been first rate from ordering, through delivery and into aftercare. Wharfside can be extremely highly recommended.

In January we decided to buy some Stressless furniture (2 x sofas, 1 x chair, 2 x footstools) - which had been a long term ambition. We went to various stockists and ended up buying at Wharfside and wished we hadn't. When the furniture arrived it was minus two footstools and no-one gave us any warning that this was the case.
When the delivery was made the delivery team expressed surprise and dislike of the fact that the delivery was up two flights of stairs, despite the fact that this had been explained to the salesman and I had even gone to the trouble of measuring all the hallways and stairs to make sure they could get the furniture into the building and up to our flat.
Furthermore, prior to the agreed delivery date I had emailed them to say I would be out of the country and would effect payment by bank transfer rather than paying via card on the day of the delivery. The delivery supervisor got angry on the phone with my wife and despite having been told I was abroad then phoned me on my mobile to complain that they had not been paid. He got quite shouty and aggressive which is not a good way to deal with customers who have spent a lot of money with you. He also expected (demanded) full payment but I said I would withhold payment for the footstools until they were delivered. I made the adjusted payment by bank transfer the next day on my return to the UK as I had agreed to do.
The following week I made my dis-satisfaction with the whole thing known to the salesman who promised to call me back with more details on the footstools. Despite him promising to call me back personally the assistant called me which suggests a lack of integrity or willingness to deal with any sale already made. She said they would do everything possible to make me a satisfied customer, I said that in order to do that they should discount the footstools. When I pursued this line I was told this can't be done.
The footstools did arrive within a couple of weeks but the whole experience turned buying a high end, luxury item (Stressless furniture), from a pleasure into a pain. My impression of Wharfside is that they are a slick sales operation with poor customer service. My recommendation is go there to see a good range of Stressless, decide what you want and then get written quotes - you will get Stressless cheaper & with much better service.
The Stressless product is a superb, high-end product. The quality of the product should be matched by the quality of the service but Wharfside don't understand this.

Comentario de Wharfside:
Dear Mr Fawkes
I am Jonathan Stewart managing director of Wharfside Group and have seen your comments written about my company on Houzz and direct to me via the Wufoo contact system on our website.
No aggravation caused to a customer can ever be excused whatever the amount of money paid and the specific circumstances, and, thus I would apologise immediately if you feel we have acted poorly.
It perhaps is useful for me to point out that we have been selling furniture of this quality since 1962, 53 years; I myself have been running the company since 1980. Now, 35 years, and we have been the main London stockists for the Stressless brand for around 20 years.
I would thus guess that I have sold, delivered and installed furniture for perhaps 100,000 London and UK customers in that time.
And, since, we have supplied, parents and their children and now the grandchildren with furniture over this period, we have evidently been doing something correctly.
Which makes my apology all the more pressing because of your own dissatisfaction.
Your furniture was ordered from Stressless by me personally; I try to always do this myself in order that there should only be one person to blame when things go wrong and this is me.
I understand however that Stressless themselves omitted to send your 2 footstools and, not unreasonably, this was only noted during your installation. This error was then immediately pointed out to the factory who then effected as rapid as possible a delivery to us – please remember that your furniture has been made in a factory on the north coast of Norway and thus logistics are inevitably more complex than if they held stock in London.
As soon as they arrived in London, my installation manager personally delivered them to your home.
I am sure that the seating comfort of this excellent furniture will make you forget very soon that the factory omitted to send them originally and I hope that your own view of my company – whose reputation I protect fiercely might soon be re-instated. Even one discontented customer in 100,000 is one too many.
My apologies again.
Best Wishes
Jonathan Stewart

Good quality and on-time delivery. I ordered a large Pounds 6,000 table from them and they were always helpful, quick to answer and very nice people indeed.

I had been looking for a square dining table that was modern and stylist. I found wharfside on the internet as they had such a table. I was living in Romania at the time so had to deal with Jonathan over the telephone. He was incredibly helpful, had great style tips and was a tremendous help. We swapped several emails, he with products and me with pictures of the house that I was endeavouring to furnish. In the end we bought the walnut table, it is just as spectacular as he said and the quality if phenomenal. We have just got back in touch with him to organise the bench and possibly some chairs. Great products, great service and high on quality and style - thank you Jonathan.

As a property consultant for high net worth individuals seeking residences in London, I am asked, at times, by my foreign clients to design and furnish their apartments and homes. Wharfside is my FIRST STOP and I rely heavily on Wharfside to supply design ideas that will enhance the look and feel of the contemporary spaces. In particular, Wharfside's Danish designs are ideal for a mix of modern and antique as their quality is on par with the artwork and existing furnishings of my clients.
The owner, Jonathan, is always on hand to offer suggestions and aid me in a classic contemporary furniture selection. In particular with furniture that has the 'built in' feel for entertainment sets and television rooms. We have also looked at a number of large and small dining rooms to accommodate everything from a one bed in Chelsea to a large dining room in East London.
Given that Wharfside is 'off the beat and track' of the Harrods and Bo Concepts of the world (i.e. it is located in East London), I do not have to worry about seeing my designs and selected furniture in every living room in London.
In addition, given the warehouse feel of Wharfside, I know that I am not paying for a high street or high end rent to display the furniture, but rather for quality furniture.
With Jonathan, I never hear 'that will take 12 weeks', I hear 'when do YOU need it by' and it is delivered WHEN I need it (and he holds it if rennovations are delayed:))
This is an old school place to find what you need for your home - and ask Jonathan to make you an espresso and say Mary Sent Me.
Enjoy.

Hello.
If you are looking for exceptionally unique, quality contemporary furniture that aspire's to many a taste, from a company with year's of experience and knowledge, then Wharfside is for you!
It hands down beats any high street furniture store out there, with a variety of products across every aspect of the home.
I was struggling to find the right dining table experience in the UK which I had visioned, until I came across Wharfside and their very helpful sales people and management. They guided me to the right set up and helped to create my vision with the products they had on offer in store.
I highly recommend their service, products and knowledge. What a find!
