The Cabin Store

We first opened the doors to The Carolina Cabin Store in March 2002, in West Jefferson, located in the beautiful mountains of northwestern North Carolina. We consider The Carolina Cabin Store as more than just a business – it’s a lifestyle! Shawn has been a licensed General Contractor for almost 30 years and we have always lived in a log home. We love the furniture and décor we carry in our retail stores and online. We personally furnish and decorate our Engelmann Spruce log home in this rustic yet functional style of furniture and décor. We enjoy the different woods used and appreciate the work that has gone into handcrafting each piece. Our taste seem to be a little more southwestern and western with some cowhide furniture in the mix. While our children’s rooms tend to be more lodge and cabin décor. It is all fun and very durable especially with children or grandchildren. We enjoy traveling out west and have found many of our artisans that we use today from our travels. We appreciate the history of the reclaimed barn wood and eco-friendly use of Aspen logs all while keeping American craftsman working here in the US. Shawn has been restoring hand hewn log tobacco barns into beautiful restored log homes for the past 30 years. The joy of using old structures to create something new again has been his passion and our lifestyle. His newest creation is the mining shaft house that resembles a Colorado mining shaft complete with the mining cart and ore bucket. We both like to decorate our own home and assist customers in furnishing and decorating their homes. We often assist customers by doing on-site visits to offer our suggestions related to furniture and décor. Ultimately, we want the customer to be happy with the end result! We have had customers drive up to five hours just to come to our store and that is a huge compliment! We are always adding new products to our showrooms and online to keep you interested in coming back to see us. We expanded the reach of our retail store, publishing our first catalog, which brought us customers from across the country. In October 2010, we opened a second store in Boone, North Carolina, our recent addition features a 5000 sq. ft. showroom. Our West Jefferson showroom is still the main retail location with almost 10,000 sq. feet of showroom plus our furniture warehouse.
