We found Thompson Woodworking through Houzz and were so pleased to find a local woodworker with whom we could collaborate. We have worked together with Brian and Melissa on several different types of projects including countertops and bench seats, fireplace mantles, floating shelves and custom cabinetry. I think the thing that stands out most about Thompson is how fantastic Brian is to work with. As a designer, I can come to him with a conceptual design knowing that he will help me through the detail and mechanics of creating the final piece. I can also send my clients directly to him and know that they will be well taken care of. Supporting another local business is so important to me. I highly recommend this wonderful, family-run business.

I am an interior designer and was looking for a custom table and bench for a client. I contacted TCW, and Melissa was friendly and knowledgeable. She was helpful throughout the process of finalizing the details, including making us samples of the paint options for the table and bench legs. When I went in to pick up the samples, Brian took the time to discuss finishing options and show me around the workroom, which was really interesting! We initially approached Brian and Melissa to help us design and build a large conference room table. Being a small, highly creative communications company we were looking for something out of the ordinary to reflect our culture. A quick visit to the TCW Farm Tables + Furniture workshop provided plenty of inspiration for what was possible. Brian walked us through the woods, the process, and introduced us to some beautiful reclaimed wood from a barn in Kentucky. After selecting a top, Brian went to a dark corner of the workshop and dragged out a couple of recycled legs from an old sewing factory that he had been saving for “just the right project.” It didn’t take long to for us to say yes, please. The end result is a piece of art, absolutely stunning. The compliments flow when the clients and coworkers gather around the table. Thompson Custom Woodworking was the perfect choice for our custom Black Walnut dining room table. We sourced 2 slabs from Berkshire Products in Sheffield, MA and had them shipped to Thompson's. Brian Thompson took the time to walk us through every step of the process, patiently answering every question and concern. We came in looking for a custom gathering table that had an industrial vibe. After explaining to Brian and Melissa what we were looking for they came back with an awesome design that included a beautiful heart pine top of old machine legs which was the perfect combination. Their professionalism, creativity and quality of work cannot be beat! We were so happy with the table we just got a large farm table and two bench seats for a new home we purchased. I was looking to have a reclaimed oak dining table made and found the folks at Thompson were a good fit. They were helpful in advising me about materials and finish and were flexible to changes to make the piece my own. The table came out great, as did the chairs that they stained and finished to match what they had created. Communication was good, prices were fair, delivery and set up were as promised.
