I've long admired the award-winning designs of Peter Danko. Working with his company has been so inspiring. I know I'm getting feedback from a company that cares, has high standards, and doesn't cut corners.

Peter Danko came and presented to my class on sustainable design at the Corcoran College of Art and Design here in Washington, DC. His designs and ideas are elegant, well thought through and very timely. It is very clearly green design but his work is also of the highest design sense while being practical, affordable and very green. The new kitchen system that he has designed use opaque packing materials simply glows when back lit, is elegant while also being highly functional. As an Architect and a Sculpture who tries to pursue real green design in my own work I applaud Peter's unique and revolutionary designs.

We live in a home that Peter designed and built in 1986. Like all of his work it is beautiful and ingeniously constructed. It was an "early work" but reflects his sense of art, scale, balance, utility, importance of context, love of the earth, insistence on quality. So well sited, it just belongs in its place in the woods. The place is passively solar, two walls of windows facing south and the north side of the house is solid block built into the earth to aid cooling and heating. Peter designed and crafted thematic floor to ceiling windows from mahogany in every room that are at once sturdy and elegant. The place is light and open in good weather and cozy in storms. Functional Art to live in. Thank you, Peter!

The Peter Danko kitchen is striking for at least four reasons, starting with aesthetic, functional and ecological. It is first of all beautiful, day or night making a small kitchen appear bright and full of light, with the delicacy of Japanese shoji screens. Second, it functions beautifully. You don't have to fight the door of the cabinet with your elbow in order to put all the plates or wine glasses back in the cupboard: the removable doors give full, unimpeded access to the shelves. Third, the cabinets please the environmentalist in me because they are so spare. They waste no materials, and use resources wisely. And pure delight is the fourth reason. These kitchen cabinets are brilliant and clever and humorous. There's sort of a cosmic joke about being able to open a kitchen cabinet from the left, and in the next millisecond, open the same cabinet from the right. Or remove the door and magically replace it with no screw drivers, no leveling hinges, no trouble. It feels as if the Cirque du Soleil had just invaded the house to make you smile.

As a professional designer and interior architect i have worked in the profession for almost 40 years.I have worked at every level of design requirement and budget constraint. My experience and education is in the areas of industrial design, interior design and architecture and have a good deal of experience in providing design solutions in each of these disciplines. In my experience I would put the Danko Kitchen Design at the highest level of solution based design. The final look is clean and completely able to fit into most interiors. More importantly the hinge design and translucent body material are innovative and solve many issues of function in new and innovative ways. I am acquainted with Peter Danko professionally and admire his method of thinking and problem solving. I also understand the value of his design from a manufacturing and costing point of view. I would anticipate that the manufacturer with enough vision to develop a marketing approach will be rewarded by the broad acceptance of this visionary product. Thomas J. I was working for a contractor who installed a countertop in Peter Danko's Home. This is when I was first exposed to his designs and had a chance to see his kitchen design first hand. It was awesome and understated. Often awesome and understated do not go hand in hand, but with Peter's designs the restraint is always super cool. Of course I have his furniture in mind when I make this statement as well. His use of materials is innovative and fun to talk about. Often he repurposes materials like seat belts but it always feels like it belongs to his creation... like the seat belt was actually meant for his chair instead of a car.

Peter Danko's designs have inspired and delighted us for years. From very cool work seen in the Smithsonian Institution, in Wash. D.C. to the amazing kitchen and furniture designs in his home, Danko's work has challenged the way I look at and think about furniture. Each element is unified, and yet treated uniquely in his work. The Atmos chair is a favorite of ours for its clean lines, ergonomic design and elegant look. The NoCo2 chair is a comfortable, durable chair made with repurposed manufacturing materials - which typifies the work he creates. His kitchen cabinets are also durable, lightweight, utilize repurposed materials and look amazing.

The Danko Design kitchen is very modern in style. The clean lines of wood and plastics that define the cabinets gives a green, light weight look. They're much stronger in structure than they appear and you are able to arrange door openings to suit changing requirements. Peter is great to work with and is very concerned with the details. He makes sure the quality of his work, kitchen cabinets or furniture is more than up to par.

While I have not used Peter Danko or his products, I did view his furniture and used it in several locations. The design and workmanship are outstanding. Most impressive are his kitchen cabinets. What a unique design and outstanding workability. I am retired from the construction industry and those cabinets would have been highly recommended to my clients if they were available at that time.

Peter Danko is best known for his environmental friendly work. He focuses on plywood which is much more efficient to use than solid wood. More usable wood per tree and less waste. His kitchen installations are most thoughtfully designed and make the best use of the space. His door closure system is particularly innovative. No knobs are visible and the cabinets seem to open by magic. Be the first on your block to have a unique installation in your kitchen that is both friendly to the environment and friendly to the homemaker.

Danko Design employs a team of seasoned and highly experienced woodworkers and designers. Danko focused on green design 10 years before it became trendy, demonstrating a deep commitment to Green design. For our organization, this was probably the deciding factor in doing business with Danko. Throughout our project, Danko demonstrated a thorough attention to detail. We were ecstatic about how the finished product turned out!

Peter's ability to "see" and design simple and comfortable sustainable furnishings and surroundings is remarkable. I was fortunate enough to tour his and his wife's lovely home and was astounded by the variety of work that he has accomplished and was amazed by the ease of flow between antique, rustic and contemporary furnishings. His kitchen design is clean, simple, and practical, yet unbelievably stylish. The interchangeability of the cabinetry design is pure brilliance. The warm of the woodwork and clean lines just felt good! The reuse of things like automotive seat belts and tires to create unparalleled comfort in a simple chairs and benches caught me completely off guard! I have never sat in as comfortable and lightweight a chair as his NoCO2 chair. His eco-friendly designs make you feel good about purchasing a product that you know comes from recycled materials and will last forever! What a breath of fresh air!
