The quality is superb and it is wonderful knowing you have a piece built for you. Each piece is a work of art made with integrity, honesty, and craftsmanship. "Artist" is not a word you usually associate with store-bought furniture but here in this case, with this woodshop, it is the perfect word because Terry is a true artist of his craft. They are a delight to work with, friendly, patient and make the whole experience so inviting. I recommend Center of the World Woodshop with the highest praise and without qualification.

I have been getting furniture built from them since at least early 2000. I cave over 20 pieces. The quality is exceptional and the owners are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. If you do not see something you like in the showroom look at the catalogs of their works or have Terry be creative and design something. Sometimes I want to buy a bigger house just so I can buy more of their furniture!!!! Pay them a visit. It will be well worth your time.

Our library needed a custom piece of furniture built to match a display cabinet. Several woodworkers declined the job because the work was too intricate. Terry from Center of the World took on the project, and did an excellent job! You cannot tell the difference between our original cabinet and the cabinet that Terry designed and crafted. Kathleen and I met Terry and Lorraine in 1990 and were immediately impressed with their store and shop on Red Arrow Highway. In 1991, we remodeled our home in Harbert and built a new kitchen which Terry appointed with beautiful custom designed cabinets. All looks as good now as it did then. That led to furniture pieces - including a beautiful dining room table. That led to a fully designed kitchen in a home we built in Central Illinois for hunting and fishing. Needless to say: Great Work by Great People!

We love wood furniture and enjoy saving up to invest in well-made and beautiful pieces that are functional works of joy. We shop around carefully to find the best quality and design. Center of the World Woodshop is our favorite! It is rare to find this high a level of craftsmanship – from the selection of the wood to the thoughtful and meticulous detail, to the warm and gentle loveliness of its artistic touch. I myself often wander into a room, just to enjoy the feeling this furniture brings to our home. I think it must hold some of the kindly disposition of its creators, who are another reason Center of the World Woodshop is exceptional. The people there are gracious, generous of spirit and devoted to their work and their customers. They will treat you well and remind you that there is great good at the Center of the World.

I have hired Terry to make several unique heirloom pieces — live edge sofa tables, a cherry office armoire, an elaborate wine cabinet, and built-in shelving — and each experience was a real pleasure. Terry is a true craftsman, a perfectionist. You’ll know at the first design consultation that you have chosen wisely. He is reasonably priced, keeps you notified during the process, and completes on or before schedule. His work is beautiful/flawless, and he has good design ideas borne from a long career of experience. Terry and Center of the World Woodshop have my highest recommendation.

The furniture here is of the highest quality and exceptional design. I'm a fan of Prairie style and Arts & Crafts and I found exactly what I was looking for here but there is so much more here that you can definitely find a set or piece that fits your home. I cannot comment enough on the extremely high quality of the workmanship. The furniture is something you won't want to part with and will pass it on to family members and generations. I don't think you will find this level of design and craftsmanship anywhere else.

Unequaled quality of workmanship in both stock and custom pieces. There is a broad range of handcrafted wood furniture in their catalog, but if what you want isn't shown they will build it, at a very fair price. The selection of woods and finishes is also exceptional.
