Sobre nosotros
Hewn Elements has created a line of reproduction barnwood, using mill direct materials and a proprietary non toxic wood treatment process. It is guaranteed to be free of lead, arsenic and other common antique wood contaminants. Our alternative to reclaimed barnwood is intended to replicate actual barn wood, and is nearly indistinguishable from the real thing. It will darken when wet and lighten back to color when dry, and will age gracefully over the years. And it can be ordered to fit the specific needs of your project.

I am so sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience. That was truly not our intention. We really appreciate your feedback, and hope you give us the chance to make it right! I would also like to take this chance to comment on your points…
1) Re: unprofessional. We work very hard to ensure that we are professional, and we take great pride in our work. This includes being very transparent in our communications of what the processes and stages are in handcrafting custom orders. We want our customers to be informed and excited about their own custom work of art for their homes!
2) Re: 1.5 month lead time. Our 4-6 week lead time initiates when we receive an approved customer sample. Although you did pay in full on 5/14/2018 (thank you!), we were not supplied with an approved sample until 5/30. We had communicated with you 5/15, 5/21, and 5/29. When you initially ordered on 5/14 we had a 4 week lead time, but by the time your sample was approved and submitted, we were at a 6 week lead time with several other custom orders that had come in. At that point there was an approved lead time of 6/27-7/11 and the order was coordinated. On 6/7 you informed us that you were moving into your new home 7/13. On 6/26 we emailed you that your order would be ready to ship 7/13 (two days after our estimated 6 week date of 7/11) due to a significant work order load at that time. We emailed you again on 7/10 to reiterate that it was ready to ship 7/13. This was two days later than our typical lead time window, and we sincerely do apologize for that and any inconvenience that may have caused.
3) Re: cancelled order. We received notice that you wanted to cancel your custom order 7/11 and receive a full refund. We immediately issued a full refund that went through as of 7/12. We have also offered, most recently 10/31/18, to ship your beams to you free of charge since they were custom made for you specifically, and we wanted to sincerely apologize for being two days late.
I do hope you don’t judge the entire company by this one experience. We are a small and ambitious company that really does strive to do our best for our customers, and fortunately this is a very uncommon occurrence. In the future we will do better, and if there is anything we can do to remedy your experience, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thanks again for the feedback,
