More than satisfied with our Dreamscape project. The team was recommended by a neighbor and they certainly lived up to their reputation. Tom took our vision and made it a reality. The installation was quick - and turned our yard into a relaxing rest area.

Dreamscape Designers did a beautiful job on our backyard and walkways! They installed a patio, landscaping and walkways around our house. They created a backyard oasis for us to enjoy with our family and friends! They were prompt, reliable and did a fantastic job!

I want to apologize for the length of this review…my wife and I don’t usually write negative reviews about companies, but feel like it needed to be done given the amount of money we spent and everything we dealt with. We first contacted the company in April and were excited to have one of the designers, Christina, come out a few weeks later to talk about what we wanted. We didn’t have a dollar amount in mind a the time, we just knew we wanted a lush, English garden style landscape with room for planting seasonal fruits and veggies. The initial meeting went great and she told us she would have a plan for us in a a few weeks. That was the last thing that actually happened on time and when we got the plan the next week we were in love, and decided to splurge and go with everything on the design, close to $30k. We were told work would start at the end of May and be completed within a week. The last week of May we got a call saying they were behind and would start the following week. The following week they put in about 1/4 of the landscaping (on the side of our house) and didn’t even weed properly as weeds were already sprouting up over the next few days. They said they would be back at end of the week to do the hardscape which didn’t happen. It finally got done towards the end of June and took 2 days longer than they said, as they had 1 or 2 guys working on it the entire time. Our pergola and other woodwork was supposed to be done the following week, but the guy never showed up. When we called they told use their guy was ‘sick’ and that they weren’t sure when he would be coming because he had a project to complete at the new outlet malls instead. The next week they came out and finished the landscaping in the back. After it was done we realized the design didn’t cover up under our steps like we spoke about, so we asked if they planned to fix it somehow. They said they could have the wood guy put trellises over it, and tried to charge us an additional $600 which we refused to pay. The pergola was finally completed a week later, but provided no shade which was the purpose to begin with. The trellises weren’t installed at that time and took another week to be installed, but it was not painted. We asked if they planned on painting it and were told ‘we are landscapes and he is a carpenter, we can put you in touch with painters if you’d like.” Seriously? I’m paying you 30k and that’s the service I get? We discovered the carpenter trampled a bunch of plants as well and they wanted us to pay the rest of the money before the plants were replaced, because the ‘install was completed as promised.’ Ha! Multiple gardenias they installed died (even though we told them we trouble with gardenias dying previously) as well a few other plants. It look over a month of texts, emails, calls to finally get them replaced. The day they came to replace them, I accidentally left the back gate locked, so instead of calling me and seeing if I could come by or coming a different day, they just left those plants on the porch. I called to see if they would be coming back and was told it would be an additional $180 charge for them to come back….absurd. One of the plants was also missing (either forgotten or stolen,) and they refused to bring another one. Tags were left on the plants they were able to install, and when I addressed that I was told “it was so we could identify the plants.” Even though in the checklist we signed after install one the blocks was “tags removed from plants.” It’s hard to stress in words how frustrating and disappointing this experience was. When you pay 30,000 for a dream landscape you expect amazing service and professionalism, which was far from met. A project that was supposed to take a week ended up taking almost 3 months to complete and every time we addressed it we were given another excuse, as other projects seemed to be more important than ours. Topped off by the owner calling me “bro” and “dude” repetitively, and making jokes that I’ll owe him a beer when this is all done. Please save yourself from a nightmare experience like we had and go with one of the many other landscaping companies in the area.

I wanted to update my 30 year old yard front yard and I had an idea of what I wanted. I interviewed over 5 landscape companies to see if they could update the front yard to my vision. I got prices all over the place! But my neighbor was having some work done by Dreamscape Designers and recommended them to me. So I had Tom Rozier (President) come out and talk with me and we came up with a plan and price. He was able to see my vision and improve upon it. I felt that he was fair and honest with the proposal. I had 7 crape myrtles taken out, some old bushes, 2 large azaleas, and old sidewalk (8" thick!) to my front door taken out. I wanted a beautiful flowing 12"-16" stacked stone wall to the right and left of the front door. I wanted pavers where the sidewalk was and down the right and left side of the driveway. There had to be flow to the walkway and that has been accomplished. It looks beautiful and all the neighbors have commented and complete strangers too, how beautiful and streamlined it looks. I have even had landscapers and gardeners from other companies come up to me and say how great it looks. It is very open and new now. Everything went well (except for some snow delays!) and they were prompt and cleaned up every day and they literally worked non-stop each day they were here and I think that they only took a 20-min lunch and then they were back to work! The stacked stone wall is the most beautiful part of the yard. These guys spent a lot of time on it and it is perfect. I loved the team that I had, Larry's team (thank you Larry, Sam, Phil and Dave). Larry is very patient with his customers and will always listen to what you want. These guys were wonderful and very professional. I would have them back in a heartbeat! I am now thinking about Dreamscape Designers redoing the backyard....

Dreamscape was WONDERFUL. So glad we found them after being disappointed in other firms. Christina is a creative designer and artist and LISTENS to clients needs. Marco and James (hardscape and landscape installers) are perfectionists and work til dark to get it right. Our yards are beyond what we could have hoped for. BEAUTIFUL!!!

The Dreamscape Designers Landscape Company provided superb professional landscaping services at our residence at the Lafayette Shores subdivision, Norfolk, VA. The residential project included installing stone paver walkways, stone mailbox pillars, in-ground water feature with a garden and bistro area, stone walls, a natural gas fire pit and grill, drip irrigation and lawn drainage systems, regrading, replanting, and resodding. The Company provided experienced design assistance, daily worksite supervision and clean-up, and project follow-up to ensure complete homeowner satisfaction. The daily on-site workers were some of the best people I have ever met and completely trustworthy. Communications between me and the company staff were prompt and professional at all times. I will definitely contact the Dreamscapes Designers Landscape Company for my next home outdoor project.

I've used this company for Commercial and residential projects and have found them to be honest, have great ideas, the staff is very professional and their prices are competitive.

We just had Dreamscape Designers install a well-designed patio at our home using Eagle Bay pavers. After talking with several contractors, we settled on Dreamscape Designers because we felt assured that we would be satisfied with the finished product. Initially, we had an issue with the pavers used on the two walls that were built on the perimeter of each side of the patio, and the fire pit. We were anticipating smooth pavers, and we got the rough, jagged-edge pavers instead. Owner Tom Rozier came out immediately and committed to giving us the smooth pavers. With no hesitation, and not asking for additional money, he resolved the issue in less than two weeks in a very efficient manner. This is true dedication to making it right for the customer. With the way the crew installed the patio, the way patio turned out, and Tom’s commitment, we would highly recommend Dreamscape Designers.

Water feature and a patio for the placement of a hot tub. Beautifully done! Well pleased. Have future project in mind that I will be having them do. I would definitely recommend them to anyone! Friendly. Reliable. Respectful.

My wife and I hired Dreamscape Designers (based in Virginia Beach VA) to “remodel” our both our front and back yard with new landscaping gardens, plus a new pond with waterfall and as an added feature, a new patio off of our existing deck. It was not an inexpensive project, but as everyone knows, you get what you pay for. This is a first class operation all the way; the designer assigned to our project, Daniel, was very attentive and accommodating to our requests, including a few changes we had along the way. As it turned out, these folks know how important the aesthetics of a job are, and it shows in the final result. I will try and post pictures of our finished project somewhere on Houzz.com (this is our first review on that website, so I’m new to this). What a pleasure to work with Tom and his crew. Very professional and performed quality work. Workers were on time and stayed until job was complete each day. Project completed ahead of time frame given. The crew leader and his crew were very professional and easy to work with. Greatly exceeded my expectations. Not a good experience at all. Extremely frustrating. Lots of mistakes, ordering wrong materials, misquoting pricing, and very poor internal communication amongst the people involved in our project. Always in a rush to collect, but took three tries to get the job to where is was acceptable, and we had to wait over one month to get it completed. One competent hard-scape shining star outside contractor was finally able to finish our job. They installed two plant beds and they are both now overrun with grass after less than two weeks in place. Half of the plants have died. I will have to remove all of the mulch, kill grass, install pre-emergent herbicide, and re-do beds.
