Bronzeville Green was founded in 2008 by The Renaissance Collaborative as a social enterprise that facilitated a transitional job training program. It was designed to help TRC tenants and community residents to obtain the next level of self sufficiency, employment and independence, by providing them with an opportunity to build a job history and acquire basic job skills. The original aim of the Bronzeville Green was to provide tenants with a credible employment history and marketable job skills so that they could more easily re-enter the job market. Today Bronzeville Green has grown into a full service, for-profit landscaping company, with a social mission that lives on. We continue to recruit, train and employ individuals who would have typically faced barriers to employment. Willing and hardworking individuals with criminal histories, limited education, limited employment history and minimal employable skills are welcomed into TRC's landscaping training. Bronzeville Green recruits its employees from this application pool, helping to give workers a credible and quality work history.
