Aqua-Terra Landscapes

Aqua-Terra Landscapes began out of owner Thomas Foster's desire to combine many different passions into one career. Tom's training in natural science, fine arts and architecture, kinesthetic arts, horticulture, building construction and holistic design brings a varied dimension to Aqua-Terra Landscapes approach to the design/build and the maintenance of Northern California residential living environments. Owner Thomas Foster grew up playing in creeks and forests of the Eastern United States. After relocating to California in 1990, Tom continues to explore the natural world of our diverse state through backpacking, photography and study of natural science. While working in landscape installation and maintenance, Tom earned an A.S. in Environmental Horticulture with honors from Butte Community College near Chico, CA, and has continued self-study in horticulture, and landscaping technologies for well over a decade. Tom regards landscapes as an extension of the natural world whose spirit, appropriateness and sustainability must be respected. Tom has an eclectic background which includes work experience and study in textile design, photography, building construction, wildland firefighting, teaching martial arts, ecology, horticulture, music, and sculpture. His landscaping philosophy and approach combines many disciplines that enrich the expertise of Aqua-Terra Landscapes.
