Almanza hammocks

We are a fair trade company based out Lake Worth Fl, with all our manufacturing being done in Nicaragua. By providing fair wages, we are able help families stay home and take care of their family needs and not have to work at a sweat shop under extreme harsh/dangerous environment. Almanza Hammocks works with a network of local artisans each unique to their trade and coming together to assemble a one of a kind hammock. Instead of Henry Ford's assembly line, getting all the workers under one roof, we outsource all our work to be done by each family in the comfort of their own home. We then have one of our associates come to all the communities to pick up the work the families have done and we then put it together in-house. You may not understand what i mean, but we involve about 10 people for each hammock that is produced, from the person that sells the cotton string, to the community that intertwine the thread to make it a certain gauge, to the wood workers that hand spin the wood bars, on to the families that knit the body of the hammocks and finally handed to the assemblers who put it all together. Here at Almanza Hammocks we want to bring economic sustainability to rural communities by bringing jobs and opportunities while working in a fair trade manner.
