Mold Inspection & Testing Chicago IL

MIT misquotes pricing costing me $100 of illegit charges for their "expedited" turn-around for test results. Not to mention they were a day late and refused a refund on their promise. I had a highly professional mold remediator come in to provide a quote based on the report that MIT provided and it was stated that the report was the worst he had ever encountered. My recommendation is to RUN from MIT. There are plenty of other qualified and proficient providers. I made a horrible decision to have hired them.

Leaving a review because I cannot file a formal compliant with the Labor Department as I am an independent contractor. This company does not background check, train or certify their Inspectors. They falsify tests for commercial accounts. Non disclosure while Inspector is on site to show employees someone was there testing for whatever they are worried about. Carbon monoxide issues or HAZMAT areas treated for mold exposure?! I quit with integrity, paid $45 dollars to send back their equipment and provided a tracking number. Today I was supposed to receive my last check worth $1,281.00 and haven't heard back from the owner or HR/ accounting. I have sent them written communication demanding payment for services rendered. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY. Inspectors have zero to little experience and who knows their background or history. CAUTION.

We were under a tight timeline to have an inspection done during our contracting process. We were referred to this group from our home inspector (who we really liked) prior to purchasing our condo, so we skipped a thorough vetting / due dilligence of reviews online, and scheduled an inspection in the first available slot adue to the tight timeline. We had five days to conduct the test, intepret the results, and make a decision on the purchase contract (based on the results and our willingness to tackle any problems should the results indicate any). All of this was conveyed to the inspector in person. We paid to have our results expedited - we got the results the next business day, so no complaints there. The results came back with some elevated readings. Based on the results we then realized we needed some context on the readings (outside of our own research online) - i.e., an opinion, help in understanding the severity, maybe some reference points based on a professional's experience (crazy, right?). We called multiple times (at least five) and conveyed the urgency - just trying to get someone (preferably the inspector) to get into contact with us to discuss the results (10 minute convo, max). We never got a call back. At one point I was told "He has a very busy schedule so he will call you when he has some free time". At the end of the day we were able to cobble together opinions, estimates, and some perspective after doing a lot of legwork on our own. Given the science and considerable amount of grey area in this field my review is based on the assumption that most people are going to have very similar, very basic questions after any results beyond the simple "Yes/No" report-out that the inspection yields. It just blows my mind that the level of follow-up, after we called multiple times requesting it, was zero. No regard for cultivating further business and no concern for following-up on the service they provided. TL/DR: Giving one star due to the complete lack of customer service and follow-up. I would not recommend this company to anyone that expects anything more than a bare-bones lab report.

Worst company I have ever had to work with. Took my money and NEVER delivered a complete product. I had to threaten lawsuit to the subcontractor in order to get a report that had my name on it, and that was 2-3 months after I first contracted with MIT, which was already a month too late. When I would call the company the customer service reps pretended to be management, and had the WORST customer service experience, and were very rude. They kept telling my that 9 times the mold inside my unit was not an issue, yet the subcontractor they partnered with said it was a very big deal and contributed to my constant illness. I have various recorded conversation, and documentation as I am still seeking litigation against this company.... if you don't live in IL, don't contract with them! They will take your money, and not deliver what they promised.

Extremley thorough. The technician was able to get me my report quicker than I had ever expected and was very willing to help out with all my questions.

Once I saw my damages I called and they got right to it. The next day I had an inspector come and he knew what he was doing. Thank you!

I was looking for a second opinon when I called MI&T. My landlord had a company come out and do mold testing and I really did not trust their results. They didn't really give me a written report stating anything just called to tell me that everything was fine. MI&T was the complete opposite. They were so professional and thorough and i finally received my written report which turns out just as suspected i had a mold problem. Thanks again MI&T!

Our home inspector saw some mold and suggested some testing. We called Mold Inspection & Testing and they came out the next day. Had our lab results the day after. We are very impressed!!
