Our design philosophy begins with an artistic overview of your unique property – treated as a blank canvas on which to paint with warm washes of light. Our lighting designers will soak in your desires and vision for a beautifully lit property as we listen to your project requirements, creative input, and budget requirements. Our goal is to fully understand what beautiful, efficient lighting means to you first – and then exceed your expectations. When it comes to design in any field, experience is extremely important. While the end lighting effect and project budget are the two most important factors – our designers will help you understand long term maintenance considerations, proper fixture placement to protect against contractor damage, and safety considerations for children and pets. We currently have 3 full-time designers on staff, each of whom has been with us for over 6 years. Rick Norwood – Vice President As a member of the Norwood family, Rick was destined to become a lighting expert from the start. After joining the growing family business in 1999, Rick immediately took to the design aspect of landscape lighting – gaining valuable experience from his father, Dick Norwood, the founder of Outdoor Lighting Perspectives Chicago. With a marketing degree from North Carolina State, Rick brings an experienced marketing and sales presence to OLP. From 2004 to 2007, Rick, along with his brother Derek, used his marketing savvy to oversee the explosive growth of OLP’s holiday lighting division, growing from zero to over 1000 residential and commercial customers within 3 short years. Today, Rick oversees all major marketing and sales initiatives, which, in the last 3 years have helped OLP achieve triple digit growth – largely through promotion of new residential and commercial LED lighting technologies.
