D&F Plumbing, Heating and Cooling

Absolutely horrible, no good, very bad experience. That cost me $3,400. Last year my toilet was wobbling and I had D&F Plumbing come out to look at it, I was told by a plumber friend that it was most likely a $30 washer part... well when D&F got here, they assessed that a 4" pipe directly under the toilet needed to be replaced AND THEN tried to sell me on a new toilet. Eventually I opted for the new toilet so he could finish it same day (I had a visitor coming from the east coast and needed it fixed ASAP). The technician measured the area and I told him that I didn't believe the toilet he was showing me the online listing of would clear the door based on measurements, but that I wasn't the professional. He came back later that day, changed the pipe, installed the new toilet and GUESS WHAT, the toilet would not allow the door to close. When I asked him to just screw the pipe back onto my initial toilet, he refused. I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. I had to wait for him to buy a new toilet that now sits 6 inches from the wall!!!!! I was furious and honestly blacked out when he gave me the price... the work was terrible, the communication was ridiculous, the fact that my toilet now SAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM. Shockingly unsatisfactory workmanship. Here I am a year later and my toilet is wobbling AGAIN! Tightening the bolts on the side do nothing. I travel often so it really has been maybe 8 months of being able to use this toilet and now due to his shoddy work, I will have to have another company come out and fix his mistakes. They want to charge me $119 *just to look at the toilet*... absolutely insane and disgusting. They should be ashamed of the work they did/do. STAY FAR AWAY.

A tip for those considering D & F Plumbing. Ask how long the job will take before you sign the authorization to go forward. I just had a plumber come who did a great job. The project was simple - replace a copper pipe that had burst on the exterior of the house. I was charged $752 for maybe a half-hour's work. I feel like I was price gouged. I did authorize the repair on the front end but I didn't realize it would only take 20 minutes. What the heck! I have used D & F Plumbing before. They get high marks, but this price is ridiculous. Won't be calling again, sadly.

We asked if they repaired leaks in irrigation, they said yes. They sent their employee at a different time window than what they said. Once he got there he said they do not repair irrigation, but the company wanted to charge the fees for estimate. When I said it was their mistake and they should have said they do no repair it in the first place , we would not have called them, they had the employee lie and say yes he can repair it for 2000 without even looking at it when he was clearly uncomfortable with lying. When I asked how did he know without even looking, he said you need to authorize for 2200 for me to start looking. When I said no, then I had to pay for the estimate. They were lying just to get the 119 paid. Do not use them!

I had a huge water bill, and I couldn't find the leak. Phil was super patient and explained everything he would do, as well as all my options. He fixed the toilet flap, etc. So now I am once again at peace.

This is a terrible company, do not use this company, even if your toilet is overflowing. They are only looking to screw customers. Their prices are bloated beyond comprehension. They are looking for customers that don't know anything about plumbing so they can screw you out of your money. HIRE ANOTHER PLUMBING COMPANY because D&F is terrible and there is no good faith with these thieves.

D and F plumbing has been fabulous. I needed a valve replaced on very short notice in a condominium building with brittle pipes. The plumber was professional and friendly. I can verify that they would not do a project without first having you authorize the work including the cost. He worked fast without messing up the brittle pipes. Are they expensive - maybe, but they are prompt and do excellent work. I will call on them again should I need plumbing work done.

Biggest mistake hiring D&F.... Made hole in bottom of sink cabinet and remove back of cabinet to try to get to broken pipe in craw space... Now I have to hire someone to fix their mess.... one hour job trun into a 3 hour job with me have to pay for clean up.... Biggest mistake I have ever made....

Really bad experiences with D&F Plumbing. First, they overtightened and broke the knob on the backflow preventor for our sprinkler system and the backflow had to be replaced ($500). Then, they installed a sump pump in our crawl space and we learned afterwards that not only did they overcharge us $3000 for a $1000 project, they used a very small 13 gallon basin that is woefully undersized.

We have had D & F for small and large projects, some expected, some not. They have always been on time, following up on work if we have questions, and respond promptly to calls. I would also say that they may be higher in price than some others, but it's because they pay their employees a living wage and benefits. This treatment of the employees was important to us, but it also seems to come out in how seriously the employees take their work.
