I am overall very pleased with my experience ordering from Paragon, receiving a great product, and having support during installation. There were some small detractors, which I will get to later.
I was looking for a spiral staircase and started with a web search. Amongst the results was Paragon. There is no direct pricing visible on their website. You have to contact them, which was straightforward. I received an offer in my email very quickly and was assigned to a single person who would perform the planning, drawing and guide me through the process.
On a side note, even though I picked a mid-level staircase (pricing-wise), the cost was almost twice of some of the other companies I found online. I decided to stick with Paragon anyway for two main reasons: they are manufactured/built here in the US, and I anticipated that I would need support on short notice, which turned out to be true.
I was able to schedule a shipment to my house with a fairly tight shipping date. The staircase arrived in a single box, on a pallet, and was unloaded by the carrier in front of the house it was going to get installed in. There were no issues with shipping/handling and delivery.
The installation instructions were mostly clear and relatively easy to understand. All parts were clearly labeled, nothing was damaged, and the quality of the product, including the wooden treads and landing, was excellent.
During installation, I did run into a few little snags. However, as I had anticipated, I was able to reach the same person I had been in contact with during the planning and purchase very easily by email/phone/text as needed and was able to resolve all questions/issues very quickly and satisfactorily.
One of the few things I did not like was the installation of the handrail. This rail is a single piece of aluminum tubing. It looks very sleek once installed, but the installation itself was very difficult. I would have liked to be advised of this upfront, as I might have chosen a different rail type (wood sections) since I was installing by myself. Bending the tubing into place while installing it and trying not to yank out the screws holding it in place was not a lot of fun. The end result is gorgeous, but in hindsight, I might have gone with wood.
So, in summary, if cost isn't the most important factor for your project, and you choose to decide to go with Paragon, you will receive a customized, quality product and customized, accessible support from the company when you need it. Those two things are priceless, or, as the gentleman I've been in contact with puts it in his email motto:
"The bitterness of poor quality is remembered long after the sweetness of low price has faded from memory.” ~ Aldo (Sensitive Information Hidden)
I can't say it any better.
