We recently had the pleasure of working with Bryon Maruca and his team for a full basement gut/remodel, including removal of walls, moving plumbing and adding a full bar, a wine area, new flooring, a media area and a full bath renovation. Bryon, Andy, and the Maruca Design / Build team were able to take our vision for a chic entertainment space and make it a reality with many helpful suggestions along the way. I am very Type A and meticulous with details, and Bryon was friendly, patient, and communicative. How often are you able to speak and work directly with the owner of a company? Bryon is fully invested in every project and present every step of the way. He not only met my expectations but exceeded them, and went above and beyond to make sure each and every request was addressed. Bryon worked within our very tight timelines to deliver what has become one of our favorite spaces in the house. I have recommended Maruca Design / Build to multiple friends and neighbors, and hope he doesn't get too busy because we are already counting down the days until we start our next project with Bryon and his team!

From our first estimate meeting to the very last install of the final light fixture, Bryon, Andy, and his team of skilled tradesmen delivered expert craftsmanship and great care to every detail. In today’s age of convenience and lack of personal interaction, Bryon takes great care in building trust through each in-person conversation and explaining each step in the project. Our project included an entire kitchen, living area, powder room, and dining room remodel. We really believe only Bryon and his team could deliver on our vision for our remodel. He treats the project budget as if it was his own money, carefully advising on where to get the most benefit from your investment. He is honest and truthful. He has assembled a team of true experts within each trade that treat your home with utmost respect while completing their tasks. Their work is just amazing! Everyone who enters our home thinks our kitchen should be in a design magazine. In addition to their specialized work, the team was extremely diligent in cleaning up their work area when they completed their activities. We will definitely use Bryon and his team again for our next project.

We absolutely loved working with Bryan, Andy, and the rest of the team on our beautiful basement renovations. They made the entire process so easy on our end, and they catered to all of our specific requests. Their flexibility was KEY to us, and they worked hard to turn our vision into reality. We never had to worry about not hearing from them, timing issues, or any of the other horror scenarios that you often hear about from others going through renovations. Professional and customer service oriented come to mind when describing Bryon’s work. He is very friendly and patient. He takes the time to explain the details of what is involved with performing the work and gives a realistic timeline to complete the job. He offers practical cost minded solutions. Bryon and his team upgraded our townhouse and transformed it into the dream home we have always wished to have. The upgrades have enhanced the manner in which our family functions and lives within our home. We highly recommend Bryon and have begun planning our next projects with him. We have had the pleasure of working with Bryon and his team on 3 projects in our home- each one resulting in a finished product that far exceeded our expectations. The initial project was a major master bath remodel where Bryon was able to take a vague list of what we didn't want and turn it into our dream master bath retreat. Bryon has an amazing design aesthetic and a unique ability to blend two very different styles (his & hers). From start to finish Bryon and his whole team were easy to communicate with, clean, polite, respectful of our home and ever changing schedules and always showed up when they said they would. Bryon was fantastic as the point of contact - every time we had question/concern, Bryon managed to ease our anxieties and talk us through the process (no small task with the two of us). Bryon is a perfectionist who takes great pride in his work and somehow manages to make the whole remodeling process fun !! We have recommended Maruca Design/Build to multiple friends in the area - three of whom have used him and have been thrilled as well. Bryon's work speaks for itself. We had entertained using other companies before choosing Maruca Design/Build. My father is an attorney specializing in construction litigation and he gave me a very specific set of criterion in terms of what to look for when hiring and working with a contractor. Maruca Design/Build met and in some cases exceed every one of those legal and ethical criteria. It is because of Bryon's honesty and work ethic that we will continue working with him for as long as we are able.

I’d like to talk a little bit about my experience with Bryon Maruca. I hired him and his design partner Marisa Moore to help me with my home renovation project. It was a very large project Including not only a full kitchen remodel but a full master bath remodel. Additionally, he painted most of the rooms in my home. He added recessed lighting throughout the first floor, installed crown molding and installed beautiful tile on my fireplace. His electricians installed new lighting in both my kitchen and in my dining room, as well as over the staircase. In total the job was about $100,000. I can’t say enough good things about the workmen who spent about three months in my home. I have teenagers who were often home when the men arrived and when they were finishing up in the afternoon. These men were on time, respectful of my family and diligent in their work. I found them to be meticulous in their craft and when I had questions or concerns they were met with professionalism and care so that we would be happy with the finished product. Bryon was more than responsive to my texts, even when I’d have a concern or a question after hours he frequently responded at that time or first thing the next business day. He is knowledgeable about construction and design and often helped guide our desicion making based on his years of experience. I have included photos of my home so that you might see how spectacular it is. I have posted these photos on my Facebook account to encourage my local fiends to contact Bryon and his team for all of their remodeling needs. We moved to a home that was a almost 20 years old and decided that the kitchen needed to be updated and well as a few other things around the house. We were looking for a general contractor that could do all of that work. We ended up hiring American Remodeling and could not have been happier with Bryon and the work that his team did in our home. We found it very easy to work with American Remodeling. We hired them for a large project and knew that it would take several weeks to complete. Bryon was very helpful in letting us know when he would be working on each part of the project as well as taking our schedule into consideration during the remodel. Our project included demolition of the existing kitchen including removing tile floor, removing partial walls, removing all cabinetry and appliances. Bryon and his team rebuilt our entire kitchen. In addition, he added wooden beams to our family room and replaced the flooring on our entire main level. The quality of work that you get is what impressed us the most. We made a few changes along the way, some were our ideas and some were things that we ran into along the way. Bryon was easy to work with on all fronts. The personal service that you get is what makes them stand out from other large contractors. They were receptive to our ideas and worked with us to make our kitchen exactly what we wanted. I would highly recommend hiring American Remodeling for your next remodeling project. We enjoyed working on this project with Bryon and his team members Regis and Andy, as well. They produced quality work that we are proud to show our family and friends. We will be hiring American Remodeling again for future projects in our home.

DO NOT RECOMMEND I would not recommend Bryon for your project. While we were satisfied with some of the work, there were major issues: substantial delays that prevented us from moving in for months, failure to complete the entire project, quality issues, poor communication and even outright lies about the status of the project. I have condensed this review to highlight the bigger issues—there are too many to list them all, so I will attempt to provide an overview that helps you make an informed decision about hiring Bryon for your project. Note that we have already had to pay thousands of dollars to fix the work that his crew did and unfortunately will have to spend a lot more fixing/redoing what they did. We hired him for a $80k+ renovation of a 3 bedroom/2 bath house that we purchased in August of 2017 which included, among other things, moving and replacing the staircase. For the extensive project that was started on September 4, Bryon quoted us 7-9 weeks; it was still not complete on February 28, when he informed us that he was quitting our project (26 weeks later). I have since contacted him about fixing some things under his warranty for issues we are ALREADY having and he has not responded after multiple emails outlining issues, including 1) that we still don’t have cabinet doors under our kitchen sink, 2) both French doors in our kitchen were improperly installed, causing ant problems as well as insulation problems, 3) one of our mirrors in our master bathroom has already come off the wall, and 4) there are already cracks in our newly-reglazed master shower and in ALL FOUR niches they created, as well as peeling paint from unnecessarily painted tile. His crew also painted both of our bathrooms with a matte paint—despite the fact that bathrooms must be painted with semi gloss or satin paint because of the moisture. We are having to spend even more money to have them repainted by professionals. Note that communication seemed adequate at the onset of the project but went downhill fast to the point of being terrible. We caught him lying to us throughout the project (about when he was submitting permit requests, ordering the stairs, etc.), but probably the biggest lie was that our home inspection items had been completed, when in fact they had not (we had another inspection done). We suspected there were incomplete items, but it was things that were difficult for us to tell, like grading outside, insulation in our crawl space, etc. Note that many of these were safety issues and he not only didn’t make them a priority, he lied to us about having done them. Bryon also made significant decisions without discussing them with us, including building a wall around a pipe that he originally indicated could be moved. He did so while there was only a ladder to get upstairs so we didn’t even know about it until it was too late to do anything. Now, we have an unnecessary wall that makes it impossible to get to the other side of our bed in our master bedroom comfortably. There were multiple instances in which his crew didn’t tell us about things when they happened or when they saw them so months later they are impossible to fix easily (I.e. a piece was missing from our new range hood, but they didn’t say anything when installing it months ago). His painters are NOT GOOD. Literally all the rooms in our house were painted and most of it’s so sloppy. At least 3/4 of them need to be redone because they didn’t properly skim the walls beforehand. They are rippled and bumpy in some places, our ceilings are wavy, there are cracks and even drops of paint on our new tile that they were too careless to clean up. Lastly, we had a portico built over our front door (that was always in the contract) that Bryon refused to have his crew paint, citing that we would have to pay extra for outdoor paint. There was never a mention of this until the portico was constructed, so we currently have an unfinished portico on which you can see the seams, etc. despite having paid for a completed portico. Note that there were also issues with his carelessness around asbestos (btw I was 20 weeks pregnant when the project started). I cannot urge you enough to consider all of your options when looking for a contractor.

American Remodeling did an amazing job on our complete kitchen remodel! They were professional, timely, and provided outstanding quality work. The owner was attentive to our wants and needs and provided great recommendations for how to achieve our vision. We are so happy with our new kitchen that we are now planning to take on a full bathroom remodel, and American remodeling is the only company we will consider for the job!

We found Bryon and his team through our interior designer and have nothing but great things to say about Bryon and his team! They turned our designer's vision into an incredible reality! No detail was overlooked by Bryon and we felt he truly took the same amount of care in finishing our basement as he would have in his own home. To have a contractor who not only understands, but appreciates, attention to detail most definitely deserves 5 stars! We've also used Bryon and team for some smaller jobs and the quality was great and exactly what we experienced when we finished our basement.

I can’t say enough good things about Bryon and the American Remodeling team. I had a vision and they executed it perfectly. We removed a wall, took flooring down to the joists and completely rebuilt half my house. I could not be happier with the end result of my new kitchen and bathroom. Ultimately, you want a contractor who will do what they said they would in a timely manner for a fair price. That is what you get working with Bryon.

We first met Bryon about 2 years ago when we decided to finish our basement. Our decorator Marisa introduced us to Bryon. We had an idea of what we wanted to do and showed him pictures. He was able to make our basement ideas come to life. His costs for projects are very competitive . He has fantastic contractors that he uses and everyone that worked at our house we're very conscientious, talented and hard-working. We ran into challenges along the way but Bryon always had suggestions on how to fix it and made it happen. We did another project this past year on a much smaller scale and Bryon and his team once again came through and did a fantastic job. We have gotten to know Bryon and his team over the past couple years and they've become like family to us. We are going to do our kitchen next year and we've already started talking to Bryon about plans for that. Eventually we will probably redo every room in our house with American remodeling.

We are thrilled with our new family room. Not knowing exactly what I wanted, Byron was great at giving me ideas and working within my budget. His team was fantastic and they do beautiful work. We are looking forward to our next project with American Remodeling.

American Remodeling did a fantastic job redoing our kitchen. The work was excellent quality and they maintained a neat work area. Whenever we had any concerns Bryon and his team were always quick to respond.We plan on using them in the future for a couple of more projects.

When my wife and I decided to renovate our kitchen we got bids from three contractors. American Remodeling's price was right in the middle of the group and we originally took the lower cost bidder. However, we had issues getting that contractor to respond to us in a timely manner and was concerned if he couldn’t respond to emails/calls in an appropriate timeframe how long would it take him to complete our kitchen?! In the end we decided to go with American Remodeling and Bryon Maruca and are so grateful that we did. Having 3 young children in the house we were nervous about not having a kitchen for weeks. Bryon and his team went above and beyond to accommodate us as best as they could. Once they removed our old cabinets they made us makeshift countertops and left us with a working sink and stove/oven. We had a functional kitchen for all but one day of the entire process which is pretty unheard of. Being able to still cook meals for our family made the entire process that much easier. Byron was always super responsive and fixed the minor issues we had once the project was over. Our kitchen is now one of our favorite rooms in our home. We would absolutely recommend American Remodeling and Bryon's team to anyone!

We had some plans in our heads but it wasn't until American Design did we truly believe it could all happen. We purchased a 15 year old home and fully redesigned the space into a modern 2015 home. We were thrilled with results of this collaboration with American Design. American Design brought innovation and functionality to every day living with a keen eye on cost. We couldn't be happier with the results.

There wasn’t a room in the house we didn’t change or add and Bryan and his team completed the task! Bryan’s experience, guidance and leadership made the experience not only successful but enjoyable. American Design brought all the many parts and pieces together into a completed project. We were more than happy with the finished product and would highly recommend Bryan and American Design for your construction project.

I'm an interior designer and I use Bryon for all my remodeling needs. He has handled kitchens, baths and basements for me. Our jobs have ranged anywhere from 20K to $150K or more. Bryon is so easy to work with and very fair. I will do all the design work and with very little direction he gets it done exactly like my drawing or how I explain. I don't feel like I need to watch over him at all. He gets the job done and he is a perfectionist too. Bryon is smart, honest and always looking to make sure the client is happy. I recommend him highly and will continue to use him on all my projects.

I hired American Remodeling to redo my kitchen and bathroom as well as some other little home improvement projects. I was very impressed with the service I received from Bryon. He was polite, professional, very knowledgeable, always on time, and made sure everything was to my liking before the job was finished. Bryon was easy to contact whenever I had any questions about the process and good at keeping me up to date on what was going on and projected completion times. I know I was not his biggest job at the time, but I never would have known it due to the level of personal attention I received throughout the process. They completed the project on schedule and it looks great! I could not be happier! I will certainly be calling Bryon and American Remodeling in the future.

I contracted with American Remodeling LLC to build full wall bookshelves/entertainment center in two different homes, and the work exceeded my expectations. It was completed on budget within the timeline given. Bryon's professionalism was evident throughout the project, and we appreciated his demand for a clean worksite that did not disrupt the household. He made our vision a reality, with well planned details and finish work.
