Kerr Design Build

We recently hired Kerr Construction to renovate the kitchen in our townhome. We couldn’t be happier with our choice, and the outcome of the renovation. From the first meeting with John, the Project Consultant, we knew we were in good hands with Kerr. The steps in their process from start to finish were very clear and transparent. Senior Designer, Zaineb, was amazing to work with. She quickly understood our vision, and the functionality we needed. Zaineb came up with an amazing design and layout for our small space, vastly improving the flow and function. Including tripling (or more) the storage space. The 3-D rendering was very helpful in allowing us to see what the finalized project would look like. We could never have envisioned the plan Zaineb created for us. She thoughtfully guided us along the way, providing options and suggestions for all the finishes that would bring it to life. The construction phase was equally as professional. From the project Manager, Mark, who stayed on top of the project, to all the subcontractors on site. But specifically, thanks to the site manager, Nelson. Nelson kept everything on track and informed us at each step where we were in the process, and what would be happening on site every day. Any issues that came up, Nelson dealt with them immediately and came up with solutions. When we added some additional work during the project, he made sure the changes were submitted and implemented as approved. Overall, we were very impressed with Nelson’s communication, commitment to our project, and attention to detail. Our custom-built kitchen island, drawers and cabinets came out beautifully, thanks to Wes and the team at Urban Vista Cabinets. They went above and beyond to make sure we were 100% satisfied with the result and came back to make minor adjustments as needed. It’s a true pleasure to use our new extremely functional and beautiful kitchen. We thank the entire Kerr team for their hard work and high standards. We would absolutely hire Kerr for future projects.

Kerr Design Build did a great job helping us with our basement reno! The design/planning process was efficient and they knew exactly what was required to successfully obtain the required permit. The construction team was great to work with and addressed any of our questions/concerns very quickly. Even their subcontractors, especially the plumber and electrician they used, were very professional and valued the quality of their work!

Their slogan talks about trust, and that was just what we needed to hear. We looked for a company to do a renovation after failing to come to terms with another group. From the first meeting, we felt like the people at Kerr were very attentive to customer service. They listened and really cared about us and the project. Every time during the renovation process, they answered questions and ensured we were happy. We had started the design process with the other company, but the designers at Kerr went over our decisions and helped us make changes where the ideas didn’t match our vision. The project manager was very knowledgeable and could be relied upon to make sure that the work was done to their exacting standards. The warranty is better than anything we’ve seen. We are extremely pleased with the finished product, and we highly recommend Kerr.

We have worked with the Kerr Design team and head designer, Nisha MacNeil for over a year. The Kerr Design team helped us pick furniture and accessories for our 3,300 square foot home. Kerr took into account our tastes and our traditional home and helped us make the right choices and avoid costly mistakes. We also wanted to build a bench seat in our kitchen. We could not find anyone who wanted to do such a small job and were fortunate that Kerr was also able to provide us with the trades to do the job. Our collaboration with the Kerr Design team has resulted in a beautiful home that we enjoy with family and friends.

2022 I approached Elton Donald, of Kerr Construction, with a design for an update to my kitchen & living area. He introduced me to Nisha MacNeil, of Kerr Design, who graciously took on the project. Nisha guided me through the next few months of ideas, numerous choices, and decision making, with efficiency & thoughtfulness. Nisha was very conscious of my vision of the project, & kept me well informed, as well as ensuring we were meeting deadlines. Thank you Nisha for encouraging me to take the plunge & add some “jewelry” (Nisha’s term), to my power room with wallpaper & fancy gold faucet, & “wow” light fixtures!

We recently hired Kerr Construction to renovate our kitchen, master ensuite and reading room, and we are very happy with the final result. The project took about 9 weeks from tear out to completion, a very manageable timeline. Kerr had a good selection of suppliers and subcontractors that helped everything go smoothly. Communication was always prompt and efficient. Our project manager, Eric, kept on top of everything and was always available with great input. He dealt immediately with any issues that came up and was always able to find the right solution. Nisha and the design team offered good décor/design options and choices from various vendors which really helped in the selection process. The quality of the craftsmanship was excellent. Our kitchen cabinets, bookcase and ensuite vanity were custom made and turned out beautifully. All of the workers/tradespeople were very respectful of our home. At the end of every working day, the house was swept and tools were put away. We are really enjoying our renovated spaces and have Kerr to thank for making it happen. We have had many compliments on the changes to our home. We would recommend them for future work.

The team at Kerr was amazing. They helped us design and build an amazing apartment. We felt supported all the way through the project.

I will forever be grateful to Kerr Construction & Design for skillfully transforming my wet, moldy/ “toxic” basement into a dry beautiful functional living space that I love and enjoy every day! From their initial consultation to completion of this huge project, the Kerr team were professional, principled and communicated well. It basically comes down to trust and they earned my trust ! Lastly, it was hard to “let go” of their expertise and indeed I reached out to Kerr for guidance in some home maintenance issues several months after the completion of my project — and they were very gracious , responsive and helpful ! to me- and, I have no doubt to many other previous clients whose trust that had also gained. I give them my highest recommendation.

We worked with Dave and his team at Kerr Design and Construction to remodel the main floor of our split level bungalow. What we liked about Kerr is that they were very responsive to our questions (Dave checked in with us regularity with schedule updates), proactive when dealing with the recent global supply chain challenges (both our flooring and cabinet tops were back ordered but Leo sourced excellent replacements to keep our schedule), and attentive to detail (our on-site supervisor Cory was excellent ensuring the finishing was top quality even having his crew re-do items). We have done 4 renovations over the years and this was the best experience to date. Highly recommend Kerr.

We used Kerr for an extensive reno and were very pleased. The quality of craftsmanship, the excellent trades, and the overall project management was very good. The final product we have is beautiful! We are appreciative of the whole team.

We used Kerr for design and renovation of our main floor of our older house in Vancouver. Nisha MacNeil was the designer and I can’t say enough about her professionalism and skill. It was a small space and she was able to give us so much more than we thought we could get. All of the employees of Kerr and all the tradespeople they brought in made us feel comfortable with their expertise and knowledge. I would highly recommend them.

For safety reasons I decided I needed to replace my tub/shower combination with a walk-in shower with grab bars (before I slipped in the bathtub!). And at the same time I decided I would like a new modern looking bathroom. My new Kerr designed bathroom is both beautiful and functional. I am thrilled with it and have received many compliments. Mark and his Team also made minor repairs to my guest bathroom and repainted it. Now it too looks like a new bathroom. My renovation project was carried out by Mark and his Team, and they were amazing. Everything they did was outstanding— from design suggestions, to top quality workmanship. It was a delight having them work in my condo. Mark was so easy to talk to and offered excellent advice which I am delighted I followed. They were meticulous in all aspects of the project. Also they were so respectful of our building’s rules, covered the lobby carpets, cleaned up my apartment daily, and generally were very professional, respectful and pleasant. My neighbours commented on their professionalism. I chose Kerr because last year they carried out a major house renovation for a family member and I saw first hand their quality workmanship and how beautiful the finished project looked. Although in comparison my renovation was small (but for me it was a big project) they brought the same level of quality workmanship and attention to detail to my project.
