We owned a little old house on a premium lot with full city views. We searched for a couple of years to find something to replace it but found nothing that suited our tastes. We approached several architects and builders but none really understood what we wanted. Alloy was the first team that really listened to us and understood our philosophy. Our design basis was a modern interpretation of our old house, keeping the original cottage feel but to capitalize on the views while working around the constraints of our property. One of the design themes was to make a "blue-jeans" house - something that ages and gets more comfortable with use. Despite our friends' warnings about the pitfalls of building, we had an amazing experience with Alloy and have recommended them to others. The design and construction went smoothly, the team was amazing and we ended up with a house that we only dreamed of. Our house is unique and understated and does not have the "look of the moment" that is pervasive in many new builds. This house should age like a pair of favourite jeans. We can't speak highly enough about Alloy. Chris, Mace, Julia and Wayne all brought different strengths to the team with professionalism and integrity. We would highly recommend them.

We had an outstanding experience with Alloy and would not hesitate to recommend them. The team spent considerable timing understanding our needs and guiding us through the design and budgeting process. Their creativity and style, combined with their understanding of our need for a highly functional house that would suit our young family, resulted in a house that we love. The building process was well managed and the product is of very high quality. Follow completion and our move in, they provided excellent service and rectified any issues that arose. We just started demo of our existing inner city house and to start the construction of our new house on the site very soon. Julia Mercer is the lead architect. We did not want a large house which isn't a typical build for a firm like Alloy but we wanted a high quality home that respected the beautiful site. We provided many images of house styles that included craftsman, modern, prairie style, farmhouse, etc. We wanted a contemporary urban cottage feel (if that's a style). When Julia presented the design concept, to say we were wowed is an understatement! What was envisioned by Julia didn't look like any of the examples we provided in a literal sense but consolidated our desires and elements of the images into what we were after: a unique design that respects the 1940s neighbourhood with instant character, clean lines and warmth. Julia's work showed how well she heard what we said and paid attention to our needs. She is very client-oriented, always kept us updated on progress and is an absolute pleasure to work with. She provided professional guidance in design and colours and really "got" our style. The attention to details and efficient use of space and design sight-lines to make a smaller house (less than 1900 sf above grade) not feel small is masterful. Her attention to very fine details in the custom millwork and pushing the supplier to be even better than they've been before, is illustrative of the fine quality and workmanship that goes into every aspect of an Alloy home. When we showed the house design to a family member who lives in another province, without having discussed our vision with the family, upon seeing it, she remarked: "It looks like contemporary cottage." We were amazed that Julia's work was able to convey exactly what we were going for in a contemporary package to someone who wasn't part of the planning. I'd say that says so much about the abilities of Julia Mercer and her work with Chris and the rest of the Alloy team. The entire team at Alloy is top-notch, highly qualified and fun to work with too! We were very pleased with our renovation that was done by Alloy. They met with us numerous times and came up with a design that worked great for our space and lifestyle. There was continuous progress, the project was on time, and they were responsive to questions and concerns. Final product is excellent quality.

We approached Alloy Homes with a very ambitious project that required a creative touch, all while trying to work in the confines of our budget. They were able to deliver outstandingly, from the initial conceptual design to the final product. Although there were hiccups with the City during the permitting process (as expected), Alloy kept us apprised and informed all along the way. They are very transparent with all the details, and this put us at ease knowing they had our full interest in mind.Thinking back on our experiences, the area we wished for improvement was the management of expectations (which we had a lot), in particular, the consistent over-optimism of timeline estimates. Despite this, I would not hesitate selecting Alloy again, as the product speaks for itself and that’s what matters.Everyone involved in our project has been exceptional to work with, from the designers, the project manager, to the warranty supervisor. They definitely take pride in their work and the quality of the product shows. We have no doubt they are best in class and have no hesitation recommending them to family and friends.

I recently asked Chris to make some suggesting regarding the interior layout of an apartment that is being built for us. He made brilliant use of the space and came up with something beautiful and far better and more functional than others that had worked on the space. I had also years ago previously hired Chris Lemke, principal of Alloy, to design and then supervise the construction of a five unit condominium complex. That was his first major independent project. I was extremely pleased with his design sense and his practicality. Chris understood my design sensibilities perfectly, and the resulting complex is a one of a kind beautiful structure, with sublime angles and window placements that strategically take advantage of the nice views. After completion it was featured in the Calgary Herald a number of times.

I loved my experience with Alloy Homes from start to finish. I didn't know when I started that they would build my dream home. The team took time to get to know me, my needs and personal aesthetic to guide me through a curated selection process and build exactly what I wanted. I always felt part of the process and heard. My new house felt like my home immediately; no transition period. Alloy was always prompt, timely and honest. Alloy was brilliant supporting me through the entire process and well into my move-in. Alloy's professionalism and workmanship is the gold standard. I believe they have built me the most beautiful home of the highest quality. If I could give Alloy more than 5 stars, I would!

The Alloy team was wonderful to work with! After considering numerous other builders and architects, we hired them with the confidence that they could build us a house that was welcoming, had abundant light, and worked for our active family. Our new house is an Alloy house, but it is also very much our house. They carefully examined how we lived and what was important to us and came up with a very clever design. From the design stage all the way through to completion Alloy stayed on track and built us a house with greater ease than we thought possible. It was delivered on budget, aside from scope changes that we requested along the way (and the cost implications of these changes were always clear). We marvel at the attention to detail and appreciate the skill and patience each member of the Alloy team brought to the project. In the end, we are very pleased with our whole experience and are very happy with our house. Thank you Alloy!

If we had to describe our experience with Alloy Homes in one word, it would be EXCEPTIONAL! From the moment we first met Chris, we felt confident that he was the person that would design the home of our dreams and that he did. Chris really took to heart the things we wanted in a home and he made it work all while staying within our pre-determined budget. Once the design phase was complete, Mace's dedication as our project manager made the construction phase of our home very efficient and seamless. Alloy Homes provided us with a beautiful architectural design for our new home and strong project management during the construction phase. Alloy did an excellent job of designing a home that takes advantage of our properties beautiful views and abundant natural light and created an open concept home that maintains privacy.
