"I have been working with Winter Bird Interiors, and Nancy Hall, since 2010, following the purchase of a new town home. I have relied upon the services of Winter Bird Interiors for design consultation, master bathroom renovation, furniture /art/accessory selection, window treatments, rugs, lamp, mirror and light fixture purchases. In 2014, Winter Bird assisted me with the renovation of my master bathroom. This required the build-out of new shower, new fixtures, the application of mosaic tile, and a garden tub surround. Nancy Hall is a talented decorator but I did not need my whole house redecorated as I have seen her do splendidly! My home needed an "uplift" -- I wanted a lighter look. She helped me with decisions I was not comfortable to make myself, gave me great ideas I had not thought of, found resources for both product and labor to do the work, all along keeping my taste and objectives in mind. My husband and I recently sold our home of 38 years and moved from Northern Virginia to a small town on the Chesapeake Bay. I designed every square inch of that house. I knew where the furniture was going to go and that it would fit there. By the time we moved in to our new home however, I was exhausted and unable to make another decision. Unfortunately I had to buy new living room furniture and since that was the “living” room of the house it needed to be done quickly. I couldn’t do it. I decided to call Nancy Hall of Winterbird Interiors. We had owned a landscape company and had worked with her before on several of her jobs. I knew she was receptive to new ideas, respected the clients desires, was “gentle” in her recommendations, and of the utmost importance she loved antiques and “collections”. She arrived with a big smile on her face and things began to happen. Art work went up on the walls, collections were broken up into smaller groups and scattered throughout the house, walls were painted to provide focal points and gradually the living room furniture began to form in my mind. We went shopping and bought a sofa, a recliner and an ottoman. In the past I had toyed with the idea of covering something in a cowhide-look fabric but it never went with my former home. We threw caution to the wind and did the oversize ottoman in that fabric. It has been so much fun watching peoples faces break into smiles when they see it. Nancy and I went to estate sales and bought pillows and upholstery fabric. She arranged to have my beautiful Victorian lady’s chair and footstool reupholstered with $5 worth of the upholstery fabric we bought. We filled in with our antique tables and chests. It looks fabulous. Most importantly the living room is functional and comfortable while still being stylish. It reflects my husband and me and it sets the stage for the rest of the house. Having always appreciated Nancy when we were in a contractors relationship I now understand more fully why her customers love her. I recommend her to everyone for any size job.

I do not use anyone other than Winter Bird Interiors for all my decorating projects, large and small. It is a pleasure to work with such creative people who combine my style with their suggestions to make the finished product unique and beautiful. I am especially impressed with their skill at combining fabric colors, patterns and textures to finish each room perfectly. It is a pleasure to work with such a knowledgeable, professional and budget conscious company. I have depended upon them several times to complete a project within a specified time period and have not been disappointed. I love their work!

I retained Nancy Hall initially to redo my dining room. The end product was so stunning that over the course of several years, she ended up designing every room on my first floor, including bathrooms and kitchen. The process even progressed to the outside, where a magnificent deck, pergola, landscaping and all seasons porch were built. All orchestrated by Nancy. Her professionalism, insight and ability to listen and then translating those ideas into reality was amazing. She somehow knows what I want before I do! Sometimes gently nudging me out of my comfort zone. All with amazing results. Her contacts with vendors and specialty craftsmen is wide ranged. In my opinion, WinterBird Interiors is the finest design firm in the area.

Nancy Hall and Winterbird Interiors were perfect for my busy professional life. Nancy came in on a new build and chose all the finishes: floors, appliances, fixtures, tile work, lighting, paint and window treatments. She was easy to work with, listened to my preferences and captured my aesthetic perfectly. She added furniture and wall treatments to compliment my existing pieces. Nancy also oversaw and managed the installation in a timely manner while working with a complex cast of vendors and suppliers. I engaged Nancy Hall of Winterbird Interiors to design an addition to my family room and kitchen. She had a plan drawn up and together we tweeked her ideas until she came up with a beautiful rendering of my addition. The room has been built and I receive complements from everyone who sees it. The room has a wet bar, a vaulted ceiling, and a wall of windows that include the vaulted angle of the room. Nancy was able to put my thoughts on paper and I could not be happier.
